    Thanks! This was the best, most straight forward color video I've seen yet.

    I like having a split primary palette. So I can have cool and warm of each primary. Because with cad yellow, cad red and ultramarine I can get bright oranges but not purples. with a qin. rose or magenta I can get bright purples but the oranges are dull. A phthalo blue makes brighter greens than ultramarine, but ultramarine makes brighter purples. And so on. So having a split primary solves every problem

      Yes, the split primary palette is great, so versatile!

    Excellent! Learning the fundamental principles with a limited palette is a great way to learn mixing solutions, then when you add more colors to your assortment, there is some context. Efficiency with a small assortment is so important for painting en plein air, or really anywhere!

    These are great methods to use. I often get lost in my palette and it starts to get messy. Getting back to basics is a good way to reset old habits. Thanks for this video!

    Excellent tutorial. Trying limited palette with turquoise, magenta and cadmium yellow can yield a vibrant set of options.

    This is a great and concise video. I can only hope that artists keep coming back to videos like this one and wanting to learn to make real art. i hope artists will resist the AI evil that wants to consume creativity.

    Hello. What palette is used for mixing colors? Is it glass?

    Hiii!! Could you make a video for acrylic painting too? and for palette knife painting?? that would be great !! thank you for that video!!

    • @christinakentart
      @christinakentart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great suggestions! Actually, you can do the same with acrylics! The main difference is that acrylics dry quickly, so if you want to mix them like this, you'll need something like a sta-wet pallet to keep the paint wet. For palette knife painting, I'll make a video with a deep dive on my technique. In the meantime, you can see some of my palette knife painting process in my plein air painting videos :)

      Funny you mention that, I’m actually making a video now on how I balance my schedule! Honestly it is pretty exhausting, trying to grow an art business while having a day job, and I know I can’t sustain this pace forever. Thankfully I don’t think I have to - my art income has been growing steadily each year, and I plan to start scaling back my other work soon 🤞
