    Great job. Are the batteries designed to be be easily removed? I know the Rallycross EV cars are meant to have the batteries swapped out between races.

      T Shaped battery is typicaly not removable. It's a difficult shape to make it easily come out.

    Would love to see this at Leadfoot. Is there any chance of this next year?

    Did you have to customize the ECM, inverter or the fuses to handle the extra battery load with another motor? Are you using the stock kona motor for the front and back or is it custom? Curious what's doable as a tinkerer with converting fwd to awd. Is it simply upgrading wiring to the HV motors + inverter and changing up a fuse? Would a rear motor fit with stock battery pack mounted on the bottom?

    Where's the "prototype mechanical sound device" used during the race? How does it work?

    Where can I get that spoiler

    after watching the test drive video, I think that this EV rallycar is better if use an artificial sound for spectators awareness. Because the Rally championship is not doing in the closed circuit like Formula or Touring Car championship.

    Hey Please tell Hyundai this. I had money down at a dealer, but then found out the Kona N will only be
    2WD ONLY. So I pulled my money back . A late in testing Kona N "test
    mule" was spotted at a race track and a TH-camr looked under the car
    and it had NO AWD system. Hyundai even told TOP GEAR UK that they
    dropped AWD very very early in testing (STUPID VERY VERY
    STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!). Nine (9) other buyers I know who wanted to buy the
    AWD Kona N are not interested in a 2WD Kona N....EPIC FAIL. Who wants a
    LIFTED 2WD Kona N. Not me, AWD in the corners is the only way to go .
    What an EPIC FAIL on Hyundai's part only do 2WD and not AWD. EPIC FAIL, EPIC FAIL,
    EPIC FAIL!!!!!!

      Agreed. That's why I went with the N-line instead. Less power, but at least it's AWD. Originally, I wanted the Kona N, but with no AWD, it was a deal breaker.

    Have you guys looked into adding a hydrogen fuel cell to recharge the batteries between stages? That would be the game changing tech that makes electric a viable option for long distance...

    • @callumnash3236
      @callumnash3236 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hydrogen fuel cell charges slower than using a plug. A diesel / petrol generator or mains electric would be preferrable. Hydrogen fuel cells are extremely temperature sensitive, expensive, and the weight saving by reducing battery size is not offset bt the tje weight of the hydro tank and the AC/DC converter. IMO We just need standardised hot swappable batteries.

      This is really inspiring, ive driven a 2021 Kona and the weight balance incredible with the batteries under the floor. Shame its just fwd but it goes like the clappers. Was there much of the original EV system left?

    • @Neojhun
      @Neojhun ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be way to bulky and heavy. Maybe as an external charging setup but not onboard inside the car.
