Out of all the perk combinations I tried on this weapon the one that blew me away the most was the combo of Subsistence Incandescent, as every kill would reload the magazine plus the fact that Scorch and Ignition kills also triggered the perk which meant you got even more reloads per kill. It’s such a fun combo to use and I highly recommend chasing one if you like using Hand Cannons in PvE. Besides that Enlightened Action is a suitable substitute and of course Magnificent Howl is fairly strong too with it being essentially like Kill Clip but instead of 30% the buff to your damage is 50%, oh, and I did I mention it’s infinitely refreshable? Scoring consecutive headshot kills will refund the Magnificent Howl bullet that you previously used, so if you wanted you could run around for days with this perk, assuming you don’t miss of course! All-in-all I’m very happy with this weapon and I highly advise any Hand Cannon lovers to chase it, anyway, enjoy the breakdown!

When we can enhance the perks, subsistence should give back 2 shots per kill

technically, subsistence on Luna's was giving you 2 bullets per kill, because you shot 1 bullet to get 2 more back, leaving you with one more than before. What I also noticed, was that if you get an incandescent kill, you actually get two more bullets on top of the 2 that you got from the kill that procced incandescent, meaning potentially 4 bullets or more with one shot.
Heal Clip / Incandescent is one of the PVE godrolls IMO, if not THE GODROLL.
What some people are missing is that it's not just about that Cure x2. It's what it allows you to do, which is:
1. ALSO HEAL YOUR TEAMMATES
2. Procs Ember of Benevolence which is basically a mini Hallowfire Heart.
It's really good because it can often times(depending on the activity difficulty) allow you to drop the Healing Nade for more offensive power.
And boy oh boy, with Benevolence on 24/7, you will chuck those nades really frequently.
Now, ofc, it's a trade off as you're not going to have that "OH SHIT" panic heal, though with ok positioning and some discipline, you should be fine. It's not like a healing nade would prevent that explosive shank from killing you. If anything, the offensive grenade might actually blow it up and give you time to retreat.
That combo was the sole reason I was anticipating Luna's Howl. I like Zaouli's a lot, but it doesn't have Heal Clip, so in the vault it goes, never to be used again.
Heal clip + Benevolence is stupid strong. 2 kills max to completely refund grenade, melee and class ability.

Have this roll. Can confirm it's 🔥in PVE. Also managed to get it on a shiny with Enlightened Action and Precision Instrument, which isn't too shabby.
i got a shiny version with extended barrel, high caliber rounds, heal clip and subsistance in the third, incandescend and magnificant howl in the fourth, on top i got a reload masterwork.. so i was so so lucky. finally i can use fusion grenades on my dawn chorus build and dont have to rely on healing nades anymore. for me this hand cannon is glued to my hand

I got a shiny with incandescent heal clip but the the other were enlightened action and opening shot. Unfortunately the range is awful and nothing to help boost it either

I prefer demo over heal clip. On heliocentric with demo incandescent you get your grenades back stupid quick. You can heal when you need it unlike heal clip that requires the presence of ads in order for you to heal. When I finally got my heal clip incandescent roll I was so dissapointed cause I couldn't play as aggressively as I used to since my restoration was down so much more often. During any breaks in combat I'd lose restoration and wouldnt have an easy way to restart it without firesprites or my nade. Having your nade up is more useful for when you're trying to kill some chunky boys cause you're not getting that healing till after it's dead with heal clip but with demo you'll probably already have restoration going anyways and if not you can just drop your nade.

I want that roll too. Survivability is so nice with heal clip in solo content, and I'm tired of Heliocentrics range
@@Xonthos only things I got worth keeping were a shiny blast furnace with arrowhead,accurized, headseeker,rapid hit, stability mw and a shiny midnight coup with firefly/one for all which I had been grinding for for 2 weeks and couldn’t even get that roll to drop on the normal version lol

just so yah know;
explosive payload increases total damage by 15% of a weapons bodyshot damage (for example a 120 receives a higher damage bonus than a 140 or 180)
it also gives a 15% increase to crits (it's technically 15% divided by the crit multiplier, but the standard multiplier is 1, this means you would get more damage out of using Divinity)
neomuna is -15 power level (making the thrilladrome lost sector a beautiful place to test weapons and builds for GM's and Contest Mode)
Subsistence does proc from Incandescent kills. That interaction was the cornerstone of my Jurassic Green/Path of Burning Steps build, called “Fossil Fuel”.
Slideshot reloads without using up precision kill stacks which makes the perk much less frustrating to build up.
Subsistence (refunds 10%) rounds upwards - so using a magazine perk like appended mag increases the magazine size to 12. So 10% of that is 1.2. This means it will refund 2 bullets per kill as it rounds upwards. With enhanced subsistence it's 20% refunded so 2.4, rounded up to 3 bullets refunded per kill. Never mind stacking this with incandescent for the ignition kills which will add more refunds as well.
Honestly subsistence incandescent is very very good. You'll never need to reload in harder content as well.
And then if you’re running a solar build, the ability uptime heal clip provides with ember of benevolence is so so good. Never mind the 120hp heals.
Yup exactly this, I really do think the increased uptime will more than make up for the loss of explosive payload.

I was gonna make this comment but you explained it better than I could. Subsistence + Hatchling on Round Robin is one of my favourite handcannons for this reason, as both the threadling that spawns on kill and the nanotech rocket can also activate subsistence. I wish the craftable Dead Man's Tale could get Subsistence back...

You could also use the solar holster leg mod to reload the weapon you could even let it top off the mag. The downside to it is that it takes a while for the bullets to load in.
Llama, unless the Magnificent Howl perk maxes out, then you can put on Transversive Steps and that reload won’t get rid of your stacks, giving you unlimited Magnificent Howl
You should also be able to do this with slideshot afaik
Same with the holster perks on your boots
Caps off either at 10 or at the mag size. I tried with subsistence on a 10 round one and that was the cap.
I got a shiny one earlier with Heal Clip / Encore and Incandescent / Desperate Measures and I think it's gonna be my go-to Solar Handcannon for PVE since my luck with getting the last of the 5 red borders Zaouli's is horrible
Discord or Slideshot might be ok for use with Lucky Pants so you can top off your mag without actively reloading, allowing you to keep stacking the buff for Howl.
I got one last night with Extended Barrel (perfect RD and more range), Range MW, Ricochet, Heal Clip and Incandescent. It’s amazing!
for the lucky pants thing, you can use slidshot to relead and keep precison stacks
You can also just use a better gun lol, but that is interesting. It'd help with getting the 10 precision final blows too, but it'll still suck.

the origin trait for lunas howl is really good aswell, another thing about heal clip is that it procs ember of benovolence which makes it broken on solar in a fireteam also it will get enhanced perks

I don't have a video sadly, but I play with 7 sens, 0.7 ADS modifier with 800 DPI.
Graphics settings are mostly on high.
I love my Zaouli's (and the adept one I just got), so I'm gonna go for heal clip/incandescent on Luna's to differentiate them.
@Llama please try Luna’s How with heal clip incandescent. Not for the 120hp from Cure x2, but for proccing Ember of Bevenolence while playing in a group setting on a solar subclass. But keep it on the low low, we don’t need it getting nerfed 🤫🤫

I've been running Heal clip + Icandescent roll. Nothing on my roll to help with reload though and it's pretty noticeable. With a reload master work and flared/light mag would be amazing

Good little ad clear gun, but not the end of the world if I don't get the god roll. Just started using Epochal last month, and it's just such a workhorse for almost everything I need a legendary HC to do.
The incandussy heal clip roll is def what i want.
yo llama ive found a new way to skate/ launch and u can do it on all classes and id love to share it with you. i have posted itt to twitter but no one has seen it. i have replicated it and all you need is a sword, i was using falling guillotine idk if it works with anything else

Question for anyone that has subsistence and howl, can you get like infinite howl shots before reloading if you keep getting one shot head shot kills?
Auto-loading holster leg mods helps with getting a full mag of howl shots but still not worth it with lucky pants for boss dmg. I think that ad clear roll or utility with healclip is the way to go.

I may be wrong but I think you forgot to mention the origin trait for Zhouli and Lunas. Personally I much prefer the brave weapons origin trait, so I think I will be using that in pve over explosive payload on Zhouli’s
600 trophies of bravery, one shiny which was a trash midnight coup roll, but… I did get a normal Luna’s with polygonal rifling, extended barrel, armour piercing rounds, flared mag well, heal clip, incandescent and a reload masterwork. So, I got the highest possible reload for the gun. Honest review, after using Zaouli’s, not having explosive payload is noticeable, especially on solar hunter and Titan, however, if you’re running some like dawn chorus, it’s still great and when you can enhance incandescent, it’ll get substantially better. Heal clip however, has completely sold me on using this over zaoli’s even in high power level activities. I typically run dawn chorus and healing grenades and whilst heal clip doesn’t mean I’ll stop running healing grenades because they’re so good for team mate support, it has already saved me multiple times when I was low, but didn’t want to waste a healing nade.
I got super lucky and had an adept Summoner drop with Heal Clip / Incandescent. it’s so clutch it’s not even funny! so yeah, the perk combo slaps.
I have that roll on the normal one, but I got heal clip and onslaught on an adept which I’ve gotten about 6k kill with. IMO heal clip just makes a gun better because there aren’t many weapon perks that have an direct effect on the user.
@@Seven-Lights what do you mean though? don’t all perks have a “direct effect” on the user? whether it be the user’s damage, weapon handling, health, etc?
high reload + heal clip is def the way to go in my opinion
ways to get x10 buff is to put an autoloader mod on your pants. When you are close to an empty mag just stow Luna and use your kinetic or power weapon . Once it is reloaded you can continue building the perk
Unfortunately I'm still missing a Subsistence and Incandescent roll, but got other good rolls, like:
- Subsistence/Heal Clip + Meg Howl (if the thing still had incandescent it would be the perfect Godroll)
- Heal Clip + Incandescent
You should really try gutshot straight on the Zaouli's Bane for increased non-crit on the explosions.
Honestly Heal CLip is sooo strong in underlevel content. Getting 2/3 of your hp for just one kill is goated

Get a heal clip+magnificent howl role. It procs ember of benevolence and does good dmg. Also for magnificent howl, it gives you 1 stack for each precision kill before reloading. Once you reload it turns precision kills into magnificent howl STACKS, when that happens you can get 1 Stack magnificent howl for every kill you do with them which means you can possibly have the entire mag get the magnificent howl dmg bonus of 50%.. Felt like the guy didn't explain the perk well.
I got the sub + incandescent roll but should i grind for heal clip + incandescent because i love heal clip sooo much its my fav perk when paired with ember of benevolence

I was keen to see how slide shot/ magnificent howel faired to make the set up easier for lucky pants but sounds like It’s a bust… the real weapon it needs comparing to is triple tap/ vorpal trust… it’s no.1 rival in that slot 👌🏻

It's not my priority right now but I might consider making a video on it, pulse rifles are just quite underwhelming in PvE atm, despite the good perks
@@LlamaD2 one interesting thing to note for blast furnace is that with kinetic tremors taking 9 rounds - and enhanced taking 8, it wilm be able to two burst trigger kinetic tremors with final shape. Something that chattering bone cound do but that had to be nerfed away from it

Heal clip is so much better on faster reloading weapons. I have parabellum with heal clip and frenzy, it's kinda broken. Heal clip doesn't feel good on HCs. Had it on Igneous and dismantled it.
In regards to the "disappointing" synergy with Lucky Pants - getting slideshot or subsistence (or running a solar holster mod) will give you more forgiveness when setting up your magnificent howl stacks.

Coup is the better PVE gun IMO, Explosive or Firefly into One for All actually lets it keep up with the likes of Sunshot to a surprising extent. The trouble is fitting a kinetic weapon into a build right now, though. By comparison Heal Clip Luna's is tempting, but I'm not sold on it scaling well enough into master, GM, and contest content without some damage help. Maybe you do, like, an Acrobat's Dodge build to buff the damage and reload speed, relying on Benevolence and Singeing to get dodge back in a reasonable amount of time? Right now the artifact makes that dodge almost pointless, though (Flint Striker will just give you free radiant). Hmmmmst.
Well at least I now know a roll I might want avoid dismantaling because it's not a pvp roll.
Subsistance and magnificent howl is a way to set it up a little bit easier
My thoughts: It's a gun, it shoots things. It doesn't do anything to make it stand out other than having that 180 feel. I'll stick with Epochal Integration for my Solar Handcannon.

TL;DR, three words: Heal Clip, Incandescent.
The only other HC we’ve had that I can think of with THAT roll is Igneous Hammer, which, is a 120. As far as high-end PVE goes, Luna’s is easily the ultimate in survivability. Can’t overstate that.
Honestly suprised you didnt talk about discord on the gun comboed with mag howl, it could make stacking 5 plus precsion final blows alot more forgiving and could lead to some really high uptime on it in most content. Definitely the roll i want to test for the possibilty of constant 50% dmg uptime if set up for.
Mhm, Discord/MagHowl Luna's + ALH/Recombination Mountaintop is a loadout i've been wanting to try ever since we got the perk lists for these guns. Subsistence may be preferable in content where you can consistently kill in 2 or fewer shots, but otherwise Discord sounds very fun lol

@@cameroncalladine4078 it's only 1 kill with another weapon, gives more stats during proc and fully refills the magazine. Subsistence struggles in higher level content because most times you are using alot more bullets then you get back while with discord it really doesn't matter how many you use considering 1 kill is a full mag refill, plus it has higher potential to build significantly more mag howl shots without reloading

Yea I think even if the damage for Mag Howl was comparable with Malf/Warden's/Erianna's (Is Erianna's still hot with LP? I know it used to be) When used with Lucky Pants it's just super not worth it in terms of how much work it takes. Those 3 do their damage out of the box, no setup or anything.
Eriana's gets 30% per stack from Pants, compared to 60% on everything else. Unsure if worth tbh.
@@life-destiny1196 yeah I was trying it out a little bit here and also doing some research and the general consensus seems to be that it is not worth the special ammo compared to Malf or Warden.
Especially now that they've got that rocket pistol.
I have two normal Luna's Howl, one with Subsistence + Magnificent Howl and the other with Heal Clip + Incandescent
Subsistence + Magnificent Howl makes it easier to get max stacks but at the same time, it is still not worth using for Lucky Pants DPS outside of Warden's Law / Malfeasance like you mentioned. But it doesn't hurt to still have for fun and such.
Heal Clip + Incandescent was the sole reason for me farming this gun to finally put away Zaouli's Bane. Don't get me wrong, I love Zaouli's Bane for its damage coupled with a good solar hunter setup, but I'm in love with Heal Clip + Incandescent thanks to Adhortative.

What's the point of testing a weapon in a low difficulty lost sector? Any weapon is good to clear that level of difficulty

I prefer the original magnificent howl because it doesn't require any kills to trigger, the new one to me is just a somewhat worse version of kill clip
