Best bang for your buck 15 is the HSU VTF 15 MK2. This thing is tactile chaos body shattering concrete splitting nirvana! HSU has been known for DECADES as the SVS killer. PB 3000 sounds and feel small compared to the HSU!

    • @SpecOfTech

HSU makes a great budget subwoofer as well. We'll see how the D6000 stacks up when I get it in house. I am thoroughly impressed that are offering amazing performance and bluetooth functionality at a fraction of the cost.

@@SpecOfTech I have run my 4 -HSU 15's for about 15 years had the MK1's sold them in fantastic shape for the MK-2. I am also about the tactile feel of the different vibration frequencies of bass and the effect it has on the human body lol. We had a shootout with the JTR C and JTR Oribit Shifter along with others...but the HSU moved and shook the couch the most out of all of the higher priced subs. It was not as loud as the much higher priced subs but it made things fall off the wall more than the others.

Great video! Great news! Sounds and looks like a really great sub. I am impressed with Tonewinner as a brand. Yes even with where they are made. I own Tonewinner electronics, the AD 5180, (X2), and the AD 1 PA 2 ch amplifier(s). Phenomenal performers! Especially the AD 1 PA. Now a 15" sub that impresses Mr. Barrett da bass king?? I can't wait for this sub! Aamir at Summit Hi Fi has partnered with a brand that consistently embarrass ALL the over priced, big brands that have dominated the market for years. More people need to know about the Tonewinner brand as a alternative choice for both Home Theater and Hi Fi. Thanks Aamir! (ooh ya....Barrett too! 😂😂)

@@SpecOfTech Absolutely! But I feel bad about not buying local, meaning a physical store, retailer near my location. Compared to dealing with Aamir, its like standing on a mound of fire ants! lol. Was at a Hi Fi store recently. Told the person my budget, first piece that was shown to me was more than double, what about the 2 other components I was looking for? Maybe he thought I had a stash where the sun don't shine! I won't go back...ever, sad and unacceptable. Did not have $30K to spend, so I was not important, and a waste of their time. I purchased everything from Aamir. @SpecOfTech ment to ask you my brother is looking to build a modest HT and he's now got it down to 2 different speakers the Polk audio r700 or the Klipsch RP8000 mk2 along with their centers and bookshelves. They are roughly the same price (r700 just a bit more) and reviews seem to be very very close. I'm really not sure what to tell him as the Klipsch seem to be better with their fatigue listening issues but same time the r700 have been declared one of the best speakers in their range. I know you haven't owned any of these but maybe you have a better idea than me. I haven't been into HT reviews much since I got my endgame stuff so haven't been interested much in gear anymore.
I myself will be moving away from my Anthem 720 for the onkyo rz50 or new 70, and then I'll be 100% done.

I have seen the compression measurements done by Jiles on Home Theater Fanatics on the SW15. Judging by his numbers the Tonewinner will have significantly more output than the SW15. I did compression testing on the D6000 in Summit Hifi's large theater room, and we were seeing measurements about 20db louder than the SW15 before compression. I understand these are 2 different rooms, and the SW15 is sealed versus the ported D6000, so take this with a good dose of salt. But if that is any indication, you would need 3 or 4 SW15's to match the output from 14hz and up. That being said, the SW15 is still a fantastic value, no question about that.
