    I learned so much by stepping out of my comfort zone and just going for it with these tests. This was a lot of fun to do, and this is one of my all-time favorite scents. I hope this is helpful to others as well.

      Wow! Thank you so much!🥰
      Also, thank you for being so spot on with how the FOs behave in soap. It’s been wonderful working with BB’s products. 😍

    Very interesting tests! I've never thought of adding fragrance to the oils first. Amazing video and lovely soap

      When I first starting out soaping, wondering why you couldn’t add the fragrances to the oils was a question a frequently had that no one seemed to know the answer to. Turns out you totally can add fragrances to the oils, an easier and simpler process that I still don’t understand why more people don’t do.

    At least they were honest about the FO! I have a fragrance that rices like this one does, I just work it into my design, which means it's a layered soap. But I just love the scent so much it doesn't bother me. I'll have to try adding it to my oils first to see if it helps!
    You definitely handled yourself well with making this soap,I might have thrown it in my crock pot. You can get some really cheap ones at the thrift store to use add dedicated soaping ones btw.
    Great job tho, and the final product turned out beautifully! Nicely done!

      Thank you! I do need to look into getting an inexpensive crock pot. I'd love to try HP one day. And yes, I love how Brambleberry's site has been spot on with the FO behaviors with everything I've tried so far, and I do love this scent 😍.
      I think with my watermelon soap, I still will add the FO to each layer so I have time to work with it, and it doesn't rice near this much. Different designs definitely call for different techniques.
      Thanks so much again! 🥰

    This looks brilliant, thank you. I have a great smelling fo that rices, I can try and use it now 🤗 What temperature was your oils at when you added the lye? I’ve tried freezing the frame but I can’t read it 🤔

    • @JandWSoaps
      @JandWSoaps  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were 118F on the oils and 106F on the lye. Soaping at room temp may help even more. I do know that some soapers say this didn't work for them to avoid ricing. Maybe the fragrance and recipe play a role in it too. It couldn't hurt to make a test yourself and see how it goes. 😃

    • @JandWSoaps
      @JandWSoaps  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope it helps 🥰. I still recommend making a test batch to see if this works for you. There's so many variables with soaping that it wouldn't surprise me if this didn't work in every situation. If this doesn't work for you, hot processing is the way to go. With HP, you add your fragrance after the soap has cooked, and so there's no ricing, seizing, or acceleration.

      @@JandWSoaps thank you - I may give HP a try as I've never done that yet

    Turned out good!
    I’ve heard that if an FO rices but doesn’t accelerate you can leave it alone for 15 minutes and then blend and it turns out fine. I haven’t tested this theory yet.

    • @JandWSoaps
      @JandWSoaps  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mystic Maiden Soap thank you! 😍
      I've heard that too. They say to wait and let it go into gel phase. I keep my water content low and didn't know if that might prevent it from working in this case. However, adding the FO to the oils prevents ricing which to me is way easier than working with ricing after it occurs.

      J & W Soaps definitely something for me to remember! Thank you.
      I use a 1.25:1 ratio so I get the low water amount 😁
