From an Americans point of view, he runs like a pro football player by the name of Larry Csonka. He was often confused as a offensive lineman due to his size, they both run almost towards opposing players rather then around them.
This comparison is written in the highest compliment. I truly enjoy his play, hope he has a long career.

Good step and a good low fend. He's hard to stop. Go low and he'll push you down or step you. Better to go high in some instances and at least you'll break his stride by forcing him to put the bump off on you. Best way to defend him is to get to him early and take his power away from him. Have seen him have many anonymous performances for England when this has happened (and was v poor form between 2019 and 2021 lions tour, hence he didn't get picked).

Isn’t the breakdown a big part of the modern locks job.
Eben, Monsert, AWJ, Retallik, Ryan, Itoje all play their roles trying to dominate or get an advantage in the breakdown. All get regularly gets pinged at some point . How is Itoje any different ? Genge like all other props will try and influence refs in the scrums. I don’t see why your criticising an elite rugby player for doing what he should. The great Ritchie Maccaw made a career out of gaining every advantage for his team getting the Jedi knight mantle as a result.
I get you don’t like itoje but using gamesmanship when every top lock in the game uses it as a reason to single out a player to criticise just seems a bit churlish.
