But what's an addition is that we can be even infatuated with a friend, not romantically, but always seeing them in a higher level and overlooking obvious warning signs that this is NOT someone to hang around with anymore. THAT takes longer to get over if you've been around a friend for years.

When we are young we are most vulnerable. The idealization is that Disney image brought into relationships. Men do this as well so that two people come into a relationship trying to force the other person to be the fantasy they hold in their mind that is called love. No wonder there are so many divorces and unhappy marriages.
