Even today we are talking about phar lap because he is one of a kind and he is much more special than any legendary horses out there.He touched million of hearts and was carrying mind blowing weights but still ran like a true champion.He went to unchartered territory and won with so much ease.People were crying in the streets and home when they heard he had died..This is what makes PHAR LAP extra special than any other horses out there and i adore him as well,I am not a kiwi or aussie as well.

Your photos were good for getting a look at his beautiul conformation and sheer physical beauty, however. With that build and being up there on legs like that, I would expect great things from this horse. Racing on a split hoof puts tremendous stress on the hoof. Oh well, the care given these racehorses often leaves something to be desired. Thx

He had a foot problem that started well before he went to the states. The problem was exaserbated in Mexico by the fact that there were dirt tracks that he wasn't used to.

Was in poor condition on arrival which his trainer pent time on. Allof his wins and magnificent feats were in Australia, except for the north American races. So one might ask why did NZers want to seek glory? It is a scenario similar to English cricket captain Ben Stokes who was born in NZ but moved to england with parents as a child....do you claim him?
thats funny, the videos ive seen show phar lap easily winning the 1930- melbourne cup...and i mean easily!...literally playing with the field..flying past them on the back straight to 5-6 lengths lead, then letting the field come back to him, then simply cruising away again when they did to win by a long way. hardly a "battle"...

When I say this it isnt an uinsult to Phar Lap - its the quality of the other horses performances. example - running 12 furlongs in 2:35 or worse on a good track. there is one comparative reference to Phar Laps greatness vs Secretariat in the Agua Caliente he ran 2:02:8 in 10 furlongs compared to Secretariats 1:59:4; both on dirt.
