Just did this to my Gsr with a g340 reed case worked instantly! You guys are truly the best when it comes down to getting in touch and answering questions. Goped almost took off on me though lol had to catch that shit fast!
Yooo this trick actually works legit. I ignored everything and tried this on my Baja 5b and it worked on the first try. I took off the 4 base screws to split the bugger in half then disconnected the fuel pipes to the carby then took off the air filter then the carby. I cleaned the carby (which was filthy from the previous owner) with some fuel and a tooth brush and good it shiny again then pulled the pull start and on the first try I heard the engine start and make a engine sound lol then did it again to make sure and it was just a regular sound so I crossed my fingers and put the carby and air filter back the same way I took it off then connected the fuel lines and connected the engine to the rear body with the 4 screws on the base plate then I primed the bulb thing on the carby and put the choke in the vertical position. I then primed the cylinder by pulling the pull handle slowly a couple times like 5 times then I pulled the pull start hard and after 2 attempts I heard a popping sound like it wanted to start, I took zero chances and straight away flipped the choke to the horizontal position and pulled the pull start about 2 times which made the normal flooded sound but on the third time it started right away and man it was the best feeling ever, I feel like a actual mechanic now, my own father believe it or not thought I had failed with the RC car cos I bought it second hand, he thought it was broken and even told me to my face that I bought a broken RC car and was laughing but my god did I prove his arse wrong haha. I ran the engine for about 5 minutes then turned it off, installed the servo thing for speed then adjusted the throttle settings on the flyski remote cos the thing literally drove off as soon as I started it for the second time lol and crashed but thankfully it was into soft stuff in my garage but tbh was so close to going onto the street hehe 💀. I tuned the bugger then started it every time by holding the back of it up so the thing doesn't drive off. After a lot of trial and error I got it and man now it's a dream but only thing is that I have to push the trigger away in the break position for it to move forward haha but it doesn't bother me really tbh haha. I have to say thank you to these blonde gangsters for having the best video of how to do this online, I can't thank you guys enough for making this video. If this video was never posted I'd never had known how to fix it. THANK YOU!!!
So on a car like a 5ive that doesn't have a plug protector, or maybe even a 5T or DBXL that has had the plug protector removed, would you still recommend this?
Dude r u Jesus cos this might actually work for my situation, im a noob so idk much bout engines especially the carby which seems like rocket science but hopefully this works.
I just got a new G290rc installed and left it idling just fine for awhile to break it in and it just shut off so it wouldn't start after and I primed the carb a bit more and shows no signs of it wanting to start can you help me
Mine is doing same thing brand new Zenoah 32cc ran it twice went back out acted funny stalled out let sit for few started back up went to take off and stalled now won’t start back up and haven’t got it broke in yet
Only problem I have with this method is if I'm using anything other than Teflon gaskets I don't reuse the gasket so this can potentially get kinda expensive if the engine gets flooded often.
Just would like to ask you guys in hope that my problem can be fixed. My Baja starts, and will run like crap, if I bring in the throttle slowly to keep it running it tries to stall, but if I give it full throttle is revs up but doesn't rev that high at all, the idle it'll try to die, I've tried adjusting the mixtures but nothing helps, I am using stock needle settings for the 990 carb on a 30.5, I've changed all the top end gaskets twice, brand new spark plug, good spark ect. just runs terribly.
***** You might have a bad carb if it's not responding to tuning. I was going to say air leak as well but it sounds like you've already replaced the gaskets.
***** Thanks, if I remember correctly back when all this started it was doing it with the stock carb. Also for some reason I keep thinking a cracked insulator block at the moment, I just have the stock plastic one and we had a couple of days of heatwaves (Well, like normal weather for you guys) But I had been running for I think 3 days back to back each day bringing it out to bash but the last time it was fine for 10 minutes, then I lost top end power, then later the bottom end was playing up a bit and then when I brought it in the idle was a bit funny.
Bro...my baha 5b engine starts but after few seconds stalls..sometimes it gets flooded too and hard to start. I cut the fuel supply then it starts again..what could be the reason
You say 1 and and 1/8 to 1 and a1/4 on low and 1 and 1/2 to 1 and 5/8 on high end is this from totally snug down 1 and a 1/4 turns out from bottom or what just to clarify. I my have mine tuned way out of spec to even try to start.
Turn the needles all the way in and then back them out. These are base settings and will require fine tuning. They're just a starting point that should be close.
+Sean O'Neill ok thanks, I have another question if u don't mind what is the correct setting for the idealer screw mine isn't starting at all it floods on second pull. I can pull the carb as u describe in video and it will run just like u show it does but after I put the carb back on and adjust it like u have here nothing any ideas would be a great help thanks
I have an even quicker method… screw the low needle all the way in till it gently stops, and then start the engine to get rid of the gas inside the engine. When it stops running, open the low speed needle again to stock setting, and that’s that. No need to take off the carb
Hey man you guys always have the best videos ever I don't care what anybody says dan the Man that dude rocks bro he's amazing mechanic I've never seen you before but glad to meet you bro on the TH-cam that was awesome video thanks buddy always a thumbs up with me tell Dan I said hello thanks for subscribing to my channel I gave him a big shout out on one of my videos thank you buddy👊👊👊👊👍👍👍
Sean O'Neill so mine wouldn't start . It started for a second then shut off and that was after cleaning the carb. Also put a fresh spark plug..my guess is a bad carb?

Watched this a few days ago .. tried it today .. it works every time

THANK YOU!!!
Just bought a Redcat Dunerunner and could not start it. Tried this and it runs perfectly! Thanks!!!👍
Good advice thanks Jason... Sean told me this trick many years ago... Bravo nicely done
Very nice but if it’s in the car like a baja this would take longer than taking the spark plug out
That's awesome! Thank You for making this video
So on a car like a 5ive that doesn't have a plug protector, or maybe even a 5T or DBXL that has had the plug protector removed, would you still recommend this?
Hey can you do that on a redcat rampage mt
Dude r u Jesus cos this might actually work for my situation, im a noob so idk much bout engines especially the carby which seems like rocket science but hopefully this works.
Thank you so much I was gonna throw engine in the garbage
Hiya dose this clear all the petrol out of the crank casings my friend
Is it possible to spray starter fluid in the intake to start it if it's flooded?
Good info
thanks never knew that bro!
Thanks a real time saver
You guys certainly know what you’re doing 👍

Yeah same here,never knew that.......thanks

***** You're welcome. A cracked or warped manifold is possible. The engine could also be drawing air through the crankcase seals.
***** What about if the prime bulb will not prime on the wt 997, do you have a solution for that
Can you guys make an tune video for twin engines?
worked perfectly !! tks
Couldn't I lean out my needles so that the carb only sucks air no fuel?
For some reason it didn't work for me any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
What is this engine called??
Bro...my baha 5b engine starts but after few seconds stalls..sometimes it gets flooded too and hard to start. I cut the fuel supply then it starts again..what could be the reason
Lean in the low speed screw a tad bit. It might also be too lean, so screw out the low speed.

Yeah I have been doing the same on a Blackout MT. Still going to get a drill starter as this thing never runs and I am sick of pulling the chord

Thanks Roy, I'll pass your message along to Dan.
Ok I did it and it didnt work
Can't you just hold it WOT? At least that's what I do.
Or just carry a can of start ya bastard engine start.
hmm doesnt work for me
commodoreman32 If this method isn't working the engine is either not flooded or there is another issue such as a bad carb or ignition.
Sean O'Neill so mine wouldn't start . It started for a second then shut off and that was after cleaning the carb. Also put a fresh spark plug..my guess is a bad carb?
Iv tried this many times on all of my 5th scale rc's. It doesn't work!
tanveer sangha I just use a can of start ya bastard engine start. Works every time.
Maybe your car isn't flooded
This works perfectly everytime
It doesnt work
