Michele, can’t wait to see your final closets. I used CA Closets for my closet and it’s so nice to have everything custom for your wardrobe, shoes, purse, etc. and to use every space in the closet. I have a smaller closet I know yours will look stunning. Your party with the other TH-camrs looked like a lot of fun!! All the gowns look beautiful you have great taste! 😊❤️
My daughter is 18, and graduated last year. She told me Euphoria is very representative of her high school experience, minus the drug addiction (from her perspective). I already knew it was, as we are very close and I remained open and honest with her throughout her high school experience. My philosophy is always that I would rather her come to me with her experience and questions (without judgement or punishment), rather than learn from sources that are misleading, false, or questionable in motive. ☺️
That dress from the Row would look great with the ANINE Bing puffy black slides from this season (I think you have them) to give it a totally different vibe. Lovely.
I love the row dress because
1) it *Does* have a silhouette, it shows just enough shape. it is not a frumpy trash bag.
2) the Asymmetrical sleeves create interest and is just different enough to make me go ooohhh.
3)it’s the perfect length on you. I think with your hair up it will only accentuate the look.
4) you look comfortable and at home in the dress, and that’s the most important thing.

If you have room in your new closet perhaps a tall cupboard with a power outlet for your clothes steamer and a hook to hang whatever you want to steam rather than carting outfits around the house when you notice a wrinkle or crease?

I know this is very late, but I had a valet rod installed in my custom closet which I used for sorting, removal of plastic bags, wire hangars, etc. of my clothes from the dry cleaners. It was very handy. 😀

Wonderful vlog - saw your IG post of your final look for the ball and that dress was so perfect.
One thing when designing the closet, make sure you have enough hooks so you can stage what you’re wearing. When I’m planning my outfits for the week, I like to hang my clothes up to put different pieces together. I’m pretty sure California Closets will have lots of suggestions!

Love the Row dress on you. I have a vlog that I uploaded recently about my custom closet renovation. If you can afford it, definitely go with the LED routed lighting. For me it wasn't worth the extra $7k but I got a similar lighting vibe by installing positional lights that each had 4 adjustable bulbs. It's looks lit up like a boutique now, plus I had a touchscreen dimmer switch installed, so I can tone down the brightness at night when I'm doing my skincare. Another must have for me was a vanity station and a large pull out shelf so I can do my Marie Kondo laundry folding. I spend so much time in my closet now LOL

Hope you get the closets you want. Recently, in NY, CA Closets only had 2 colors and the wood was the IKEA style particle board.
Just an idea: you were mentioning about possibly having a pull-down in your closet for items that are hanging up high. You could also purchase something called a Shepard’s hook to get items down. We used them when I worked in a clothing store and they were a godsend for shorties like myself. You can get the hooks that have extenders in them if the clothes are really high up. Not sure where you buy them, but I imagine Amazon would have them. Excited to see how the closets turn out!

The Stella McCartney dress was flattering although probably not appropriate for the event. Michelle, this is said with love. You dress and choose sizes as if you are 50 pounds heavier than you are. I know we all have our comfort zones and should dress for ourselves. Having done the same for years, I am so much happier about myself since I made some basic changes - still comfortable!

I so enjoy your vlogs as they are so inspiring. It was nice that you were comfortable having a Gal’s evening at your house. Unfortunately, the numbers out East seem to be going up again and my husband tested positive on Wednesday and so far, I tested negative. We were going to have friends over this Friday for the first night of Passover, but she is diabetic and was nervous about coming over. I am sure my husband will test negative by then, but I understand. I have seen the duck breasts at Whole Foods and have been meaning to try them. You have inspired me and I am going g to pull out my D’Artagnan cookbook and find a recipe. I love duck breast but have never made it at home. I am definitely going to try it. I had California Closets install the master closet and I absolutely love it! However…… I really wish I would’ve added lighting and doors to the system. There’s a lot of dust in this home and I feel like I’m constantly dusting. Plus, the lighting would’ve made this beautiful system even more spectacular! Is you’re going with doors, I would personally recommend solid doors, not glass. Less cleaning!!

I hope you have a Christmas party this year. My parents had a Christmas party every year from 1982-1998 along with some in the 1970s. Each year they would spend 3 days decorating the house, and 3 days cooking the food, preparing the serving dishes, bar, etc. Their christmas parties were always buffet style becuase people spend most of the party drinking and socializing and then graze on the food when they were hungry.
