You pass on the left on an escalator because you hold the handrail with your right hand the dominant hand 98% of the time so stationary people are safer even if less able
A word of advice, don't come to the UK in April if you don't want rain. LOL. April showers bring forth May flowers! Spring in the UK is March, April, May. It's often wet and windy, or just extremely changeable/unpredictable.
Bizarre, as usual, like many tourists, you did not visit the east, called 'Anglia' where the Angles settled, the original Germanic settlers on the Island and the place where England evolved from and where it got its name from ( even though Germanic settlers were a mix of Jute, Frisian, Saxon, Franks, etc. The counties, Norfolk and Suffolk, where that Kingdom, the borders have hardly changed in 1000 years. The best fish and chips are to be found at the coast, add lots of salt and malt vinegar for exra flavour. Buy them from a "chip shop" or "chippie" for fresh fish, pubs and restaurants usually don't have the freshest fish.
@@RobDeMann We used to go on weekend trips to Uk , from my country. Just for some real British fish and chips! Until we got it in my country too. It`s our all time favourite food. The best fish and chips I`ve ever had though, was in Brighton. It`s always best by the sea. 😀
Moving to the West of England from London, that was a culture shock. To be fair, there are buses up until past 10pm here, but not the route I wanted to use! And I have done Cheltenham to Bourton on the Water by bus.

You may think of England as being a bit on the 'wet' side but apparently, if you commute to work everyday to work on foot, you will only get rained on 17 times in that year.
Well done mate - we have had the wettest 8 months on record and I can say that never mind the tourists, the locals are pretty sick of the flaming wet stuff! But you definitely showed some true grit getting around! 😄
WHEW! Sometimes people can't take banter so I was definitely second guessing on that. Now talking about the weather and fish n chips on the other hand... 😂
Why did you say that? What was racist about trying out a regional accent? Did you say it because you wanted to ward off any troll attacks on your speech? Sad that we have to monitor every word- I think the ‘sound of silence’ is upon us😊
@@RobDeMann Yeah, props for getting around so much. Dover and Folkstone aren't anything to write home about. It's the arse end of Kent, as you seemed to discover :) It's all adventures though.... well done for making it happen.
Absolutely, but just a shame you didn’t visit some more of the countryside. The Lake District, Northumberland, The West Country, Norfolk, The Peak District and more. However, a very busy visit in which you packed a lot! Good video.
It’s been the wettest winter since the early 1800s apparently. Never known anything like it. But you did come in winter, so it was always going to be grey and wet at times Mr!
Amazing you got so much done in such a short time! Glad you had fun, but sorry the weather was so unkind - now you see why we go on about it all the time!
We go on about it all the time - as you say. Because we can go on about it all the time. No point in talking about the weather in Hot Spain or Sunny California. You`ve hit the nail on its head.

@@dawnsheard4786 actually I had to go straight to work the following day; didnt get a good nights rest days later 🥺. The people were lovely! Thanks for watching
The side of the escalator/side of the road thing isn't a contradiction. For one thing, you could say, "On the road we move forward on the left, whereas on the escalator we move forward on the left," and the contradiction disappears. But in any case, the reason is the same one: the predominance of right-handedness. In medieval times people passed each other on the road on the left-hand side so that their right hand could draw a sword should they need to, which is the origin of driving on the left-hand side. and when it comes to escalators, people who need to hold on to the handrail will mostly want to do that with their right hand.
I have read that it was Napoleon who change from driving ( a carriage in those days or a troop of cavalry)) on the left to on the right just to be different, and all of Europoe followed as France had invaded most of western Europe anyway. . We Brits did not. We stuck to the old ways.
I agree. Well done to see so much and so many different places in our wonderfully varied country. Come again some day . Try Scotland too , and Wales. When in Stratford on Avon did you not notice the Royal Shakespeare Theatre by the river?
Easily the best American vlog of England I've seen on TH-cam... lovely filming, an honest narrative and such a great example of using our public transport system to explore the country despite the wetter than normal wet winter we have had this year! A pity you had to miss the magic that's spring in England but hey, very well done!
Appreciate your kind words Roger! Yes I aim to be honest with my narrative, it's my opinion. I was there right in the beginning of Spring but will have to make a trip there another time. Thanks for watching!! Cheers
This was awesome, can't believe you fit so much in in that time! Ps if you come back, you will for sure find better (and fresher) fish and chips at the coast 😊
You should come back again in summer and visit Snowdonia, Cardiff, Brecon, Tenby, Keswick, Ambleside, Edinburgh, Isle of Wight. The cities are great cultural centres but the countryside is best. Great trip.
Yes come back and visit our country side villages. I live in the newforest and donkeys, ponies and cattle wonder round free.its lovely, nice walks through the forest also.😊
I live right close to Snowdonia . Biggest mountain in Wales. Plus used that location film some scenes for movies such willow and dragon slayer it does have movie history
If going to the Isle of Wight don't forget Portsmouth , hom of the Royal navy with HMS Victory , HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose all historic ships. from different periods.
One of the best tourist videos of my country I have ever seen. I am now 89 next month and have lived in the far South West of England for the last 40 years. I see many changes as you go around the towns and cities that I knew, a lot more art displayed these days which is good. Looking at the trees in your photos it's winter or just before spring - it rains here in winter and particularly spring. Rains summer too but not quite so bad and it's warmer. It is what makes our green and pleasant land. Funny though, first two places were where I lived when young, Windsor and Oxford. Bath I know and Bristol is an hour up the road from where I now live. I lived for some years in London where I met my husband 54 years ago. I would like to say you chose some very good places to go to such as Canterbury and Cotswolds, all beautiful places. Liverpool is fun, loved the football. Only went there once because I wanted to take the ferry on the Mersey. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit, I enjoyed your video as I can no longer travel, old age has got me in it’s tentacles. I will look out for further videos from you, thanks for coming to see us.
This is so wholesome Julie! Thanks for sharing - loved reading your experiences. Greatly appreciate you watching and observing the many changes around the towns and cities you've visited. Wonderful to have you - cheers!!
I went to London in October several years ago. I actually like the cold weather. I don't like the heat, especially when there's no air conditioning. I understand that a lot of buildings in the UK don't have air conditioning, so I think I would have found it uncomfortable to visit in summer.
@@BomberFletch31 I don't like air conditioning in shops, so cold. Very hot weather is still rare in UK and if it does come it doesn’t last for long. Rain and low pressure is what it is mostly like, which is bad for an old lady with arthritis like me. This year it has rained and rained but if you look around the world it seems to have been the same in many countries. Floods everywhere.
The black cabs are not much more expensive but what sets them aside is they are safe. They legally have to take you a to b with no detour to c and for women they have been properly vetted. Don’t use Uber.
Hmm, maybe the pricing depends on where I'm going and per city? Ubers were relatively affordable and I'm been used to Ubers or rideshare apps coming from the states (don't really use taxis back home), so I was more comfortable sticking with what I was used to.
black cabs are extortionate and that have to take you anywhere is a rule they ignore, try getting one to take you deep into south London no chance getting them to go to the Elephant used to be a bloody hassle
Rubbish! Never had trouble with an Uber, and you know in advance how much you're committed to. Black cabs are great, but the tab can be eye raising after traffic problems. And Uber will attend in the suburbs, too. Try getting a black cab outside the centre - and good luck with that.
I am so glad I stumbled across this video. I cannot believe you managed to get so much done in just ten days. You saw so many places. I love London, quite an admission for a northerner from Durham) but I've lived in Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester too so it was great to see you've visited those places not so many tourists venture to. You can with all honesty now say you know England so much better than the average American visitor. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Fabulous trip covering many of the places I would recommend a first timer in England to see. The fact you did it in ten days is pretty amazing. Excellent narration too; gentle, light-hearted and informative. Duly subscribed. ( from London)😉😉
The traffic lights are the same as the US for stopping - green, yellow, red. The difference comes for going - red, red and yellow together, green, whereas in the US it goes straight from red to green. Didn't want people coming to the UK thinking that if they see a yellow light it means get ready to go when, on it's own, it means the exact opposite. And those white cliffs at St Margarets Bay don't really do justice to the actual white cliffs of Dover. If you want to experience them close up, there are walks along the top of them, giving you good views across the English Channel.
What a thorough video for only 30 minutes. Don't worry about the clouds, it's authentic. It reflects the reality of a pretty country with some of the coldest temperatures in all of Europe and the resilience and good nature of the people.
England doesn't have the coldest temperatures in Europe! We hardly ever even get a frost in the south anyway...! It's nearly always cloudy though. Alas.
Great video mate. I now live in China but grew up close to that little coastal village you ended up stranded in, St Margaret’s Bay! So pleased someone picked you up and dropped you at Martin Mill station. Shame you didn’t make it to Sandwich, just three stops from there but there’s always next time. Never get anxious, embrace those moments of the unexpected, priceless ❤
My parents lived in Martin Mill. So convenient to be able to get a train directly from London. (I have no idea why such a small hamlet still has a station at all.)
This winter and early spring has brought much higher rainful than usual... I would suggest late spring and summer for warmer, sunnier days when the trees have leaves, flowers everywhere and a much nicer time to visit but well done all packing as much as you did in!
You did absolutely the right thing Robert. There is *far* more to England than just London, interesting as it is. Places like York and Bath are also steeped in centuries of history and heritage. History is everywhere in England Robert. Not far from me, there is a private school in a small town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales. It recently celebrated it's 500th year... Leeds is England's second largest financial hub after London.... It's great you enjoyed your visit Robert. Feel free to come again.....
As for the escalators, I always assumed it was because most people are right handed so it is natural to hold on with your right hand thus leaving the left side for passing
It's commendable that you travelled to so many cities. One of the best travel videos of England by a tourist. If you want spicy food in the UK go for a curry; we love curry.
I realise the lack of holiday time in the US forces short holidays. However 2 cities a day is insane, you didn’t get to experience anywhere properly. I would have recommended 5 cities in 10 days so at least you wouldn’t do every day travelling. For those who are not aware he will have been in each city about 2 to 3 hours maximum as each train journey would have been 2 to 3 even 4 hours,, only time really to take a photo and that’s no time to get to know a place at all.
Thats true Diane, this was the time I booked for myself and I wanted to cover a lot of parts of England with my railpass. A few-several hours per city sounds about right. If I had more time here I definitely would have taken my time better. Appreciate you watching!!
Got to be the best American UK vlog I've seen ca you actually ventured outside of London and the main areas. Hope you visit again and explore some decent places, next time come in the summer lol
This is wonderful to read such positive remarks about UK. I was born in Margate Kent near Canterbury in 1947. Attended college in Canterbury. UK has a lot of history and I love just travelling over the UK. I now reside in South Wales. Thanks for your input. You did well.

"The weather in England kind of sucks" It looked like you where here in winter based on what people were wearing and you know, none of the trees having leaves on them.
March .Plenty of daffodils and spring flowers . And ,by the way ,the lush green of the UK is often noticed . That's because of the rain ,otherwise we would be like Arizona
I love our little country. It’s so diverse. I know the weather can sometimes suck but March is not the best time to visit. Thank you for making the effort to get out of London. I’m a Yorkshire lass. Live in The Dales, work in Leeds and visit York frequently. It’s one of my favourite cities Come back anytime x

You may think of England as being a bit on the 'wet' side but apparently, if you commute to work everyday to work on foot, you will only get rained on 17 times in that year.
Though other places in Europe, like Slovenia, have a higher average rainfall. Portugal has as much rain as much of England but the north west has the highest rainfall.

I've lived in London for over 60 years, and my advice to anybody coming to England, is to come in the summer time, not when the place is at its most depressing. Those clouds were depressing me and I live here.
@@RobDeMann when its 100f in London during summer its the best place in the world, nothing like going around London and day drinking in the hot English summer heat.
When walking as a pedestrian on a road you should walk opposite side to driving so you can see the oncoming cars and whether they’re going to hit you or not
So sorry about the weather, it has been an abnormally wet winter/spring. There has been widespread flooding all over the country. It can always be a potential problem in this country but has been especially bad over the last few months. Apparently its been the 8th wettest winter on record! Shame you didn’t like the fish and chips. Some places do them better than others, they always need to be well seasoned with salt and vinegar! And my choice is to accompany them with a pickled onion and a wally (a dill pickle).
Ahh I figured the rainy weather was a normal thing in England. And thanks for the tips for the fish n chips! I’ll try that out and perhaps I’ll tolerate them better haha
Im so glad the weather here is the way it is. I love the perfectly obvious seasons. I love the coldness in the winter, not that it really gets that cold anymore. I love the Autumn when all the vegetation starts to change colour and i love the spring when everything starts to grow. I would hate to live in a place where its constantly hot. It would be horrible. Theres something great about walking in the rain. I personally love it.
It's strange but you do know that getting wet doesn't make you ill or for that matter, make you dissolve. Imagine all those kids getting ill every single day, all day, because we played Football, proper Football, with our feet, in the rain! A tip for anyone visiting England. If you are going to "Visit" as many Villages, Towns, Cities, in a day as possible and only look at the more famous attributes on show, just so that you can say "Been there, DONE that" and not "know" the places that you "Hit", is rather akin to trying to hit on as many women as possible in 10 days! You don't get to "Know" them, you don't get the vibe, you don't get the full ambiance, only fleeting glimpses, fleeting memories and, maybe, remember the names of some of the best sights on offer! !
Of course that is true but for someone who is only here for a short time , they will have a better idea of the country if they visit many places and not just thde basic tourist centres. But even such places on the tourist route like Stratford or York wil give a better idea of the country that stopping in London all the time.
You did well, you saw a lot of England. Your travel log was great, a great mix of you speaking, natural sounds, text explaining some scenes. It was well paced.
Wonderful video, beautifully shot, you did give very good coverage of many different cities and countryside on your visit. You travelled through a good bit of England and only got lost once. It was nice that you met some locals - chatting with the grannies at a bus stop, and that very kind motorist who gave you a lift. Pity about the rain, but come again another time and make another video for us to enjoy!
Your question at 7:00 about why drive on the left but stay on the right on escalators, I think its just because most people are right handed, instinctively we hold onto the handrail with our right hand so keep right on the escalator
Wow, 40+ years as an Englishman and only just realised we do this wonky compared to how we drive. Driving on left dates back to Romans. Easier to mount your horse from left and defend yourself with a sword using your right arm. Countries later influenced by Napolean changed to right. Americans drive on right in part due to the French influence but also because they would drive their farm wagon horses with their whip in their right hand whilst riding the back most left horse. You probably saw more of the UK in 10 days than some of us brits ever have! 😂
For me the best part of the country is the coastline away from the cities. Because of the varied geology from the recent ice age to 4 billion years ago in Scotland, the coastline is constantly changing. And there is a public path that covers the entire coastline. Further along the south coast from Dover at Seven Sisters you can walk right up to the base of shimmering white cliffs of chalk.
I love how well you used your time, I loved that you went to a football match! Fish n chips like others have said are better at the cosat, the jumps straight out of sea and onto your plate. I also times my Yorkshire puddings to your video 😂.
Haha indeed! I’m an intense traveler but clearly I don’t want fast enough like one according to my friend. Thanks for watching! The English experience experienced 😎
I think you have missed the best bits, The 4 northern Counties ( old names - County Durham, Northumberland, Cumberland and Westmoreland) The Lake District , Northumbria has more castles that any other county , the Roman Wall, Durham Cathedral, Newcastle upon Tyne, Beautiful beaches, Loads of things to see and do. You would need another month to the area justice! Homes of the first steam railway, the first street in the world to be lit by electricity, the first steam turbine driven ships, the Turbinia, Land of Coal mines, great fish and chips !!! You certainly covered some miles in just 10 days! A great Video
Appreciate the lengthy recommendations Keith! Many of those spots you suggested were on my list. However with only 10 days I had to cut them out. Next time!
Loved hearing you say .. literally .. surely 😂 ...good little vid. You made me want to see more of England and Ilive here 😁😆 .. am amazed you got tickets to that Man U /Liverpool match.!
We always say St Patrick's Day in the UK and in Ireland, not St Paddy's. In fact the term Paddy is sometimes regarded as an abusive term when used towards Irish people. My grandad was Irish and would not have liked to hear anyone refer to the day as anything other than St Patrick's Day,
Thank you. A very interesting tour and experiences . Totally in awe about how much you managed to cram in! Very impressive. Very glad you enjoyed the trip.
Glad you had a good time mate! Its the ultimate thing to do, experience someone else's country. Their way of living. Their way of going about things. Not that we're particularly all that different, I'm guessing you would have found that somethings are a lot worse there and maybe, dare I say it, you found that somethings we do are better. Ha. I know a few. Regardless it was good to see a yank having fun in this country. (Some, at least.) Thanks for that.
The Brits don't help themselves by perpetuating the myth that it's always raining. Some parts of the UK are indeed very wet but that is the west and North west because of the prevailing wind off the Atlantic. However London and other places in the south east England are drier than many European and US cities. I worked in Munich for a couple of years and it's far wetter than south east England. I went to the US a few years back and my wife said to a Boston local that its always raining in the UK. Boston MA has 20 inches more rain annually than the city we live in in south east England. It is however very cloudy in the UK which I think may be another factor in this misconception.
Essex has the same annual rainfall as Morocco! You get a lot of cloud at times. However this winter and spring has been and still is VERY wet, we are all fed up with it! So sorry you had a poor example of fish and chips. They can be wonderful if the fish is very fresh, good quality potatoes are used and you put on plenty of salt, malt [ or pickled onion ] vinegar and tomato ketchup.
This is true but we don't get heavy rain that often. The rain is light but spread over more days of the year. However... I do live in the North West and it is definitely wetter!
The weather in England can be depressing at times but we don’t have dreary weather all the time but we do have blocked weather patterns when it rains a lot. But that can work the other way too when we have long periods of dry weather with blue skies and sun. Also, when you said England’s weather is like Hawaii but without the rainbows? I’ve seen many rainbows in England after rain. You can’t judge England’s weather in 10 days. Sorry to say but it’s true. Today was a a beautiful day in England. It’s spring and there wasn’t a raindrop in sight.
Appreciate the words! Of course the weather is not always gonna be like I generalized it as for the time I was there. Didn't mean to come off as rude! Thank you for watching!!
What people ignore is that we are an island in the north Atlantic ocean and subject to several weather patterns from different points of the compass especially the North and East.
@@1justme True what you say, U.K. weather can be extreme sometimes but not always. Without jinxing things, tornadoes, when they happen in the U.K. are not extreme like the United States. The north of the U.K. is generally more cold and wet, with more chances of snow in winter, while the south of England where I am is usually more hot and getting hotter and wetter if that makes any sense with climate change. Today was a beautiful day where I am. And since the clocks went forward by 1hr recently the daylight hrs are lasting longer, in preparation for spring and summer.
When the Guards wear grey and the leaves have left the trees you have to expect rain here. Try May to September it is usually a better chance of a dry day.
They couldn't call it TJ Maxx here as there was already a company of that name. They're not all cities either. Windsor is a town in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. I live in Maidenhead which is 5 miles down the road. The thing you have to remember about the weather is the latitude we're at. We're equivalent to northern Maine and Nova Scotia, the Gult Stream keeps the temperature warmer but all the weather comes from the Atlantic and you lot! Summers are pleasant though. From May to SeptemberOctober is normally around 18-24 degrees celsius. Traffic lights have amber in both directions. Amber on it's own is get ready to stop. Red and Amber is get ready to go.
Glad you managed to get outside of London. Yes our weather sucks, it rains most days like 8 months of the year. That is why we Brits go a bit loony seeing the sun.😅
Haha yes I got out of London!! I was just being honest but I definitely threw some shade it seems in the comments section 😬😂. I'm sure the other seasons are much better but this was the time I went so whatever. Thanks for watching Heather!!
I’ve never seen anyone do a trip round England and go back to London every night. Usually people book a hotel room in the area they are visiting. But it seemed to work quite well. Great video.
I preferred to have a place I know I can go back to every night. In addition I brought a lot of stuff so it would have been difficult to carry everything to every city I go to. Less headaches for me. Appreciate the love! Thanks for watching!!
Really enjoyed seeing your take on England. So happy you enjoyed your time here but next time come further north to Durham, Newcastle and then up into Scotland. You missed some of the best places we have in this country. Cheers 😉

One thing you should have mentioned about York is that a Gate is a street and a Bar in a name means it’s a gate (as in an entrance in the castle wall).
I live in the UK and have NEVER heard of the BritRail Pass. Turns out it's completely unavailable for citizens of the UK, which is pretty depressing considering a trip to london from where I live (which is only 2 hours away) via train costs me over £100 per person. God I wish I could travel anywhere, but as a citizen here, it's hard to even explore my own county, let alone the country :[
@@RobDeMann Naa i mean there’s annual passes but they’re only for trips between two stations (for example, London to Manchester for work) but there’s no deals, so a pass like that would usually cost up to £17k or so annually

@@jacquelinewesson1202 yes but only discount for individual train journeys, and it’s not even much, im thinking more akin to BritRail where u have freedom to choose when and where u go on a whim. germany for example does unlimited rail travel for all citizens at around 40€ a month, it’s completely sustainable and the uk could do it for their citizens too, not just tourists
Well done for covering so many places. I hope that you enjoyed your adventures! And gained some knowledge about England and its people. There is a lot to see here in the British Isles.
This from the Met Office... "The UK experienced 55% more rainfall than an average April, with 111.4mm." falling across the month, making it the sixth wettest April in the series and the wettest April since 2012. Many areas recorded more than their long-term average monthly rainfall, with Scotland experiencing its fourth wettest April in a series which started in 1836. It saw 148.9mm of rainfall across the month - more than 60% of its average and the wettest April since 1947." Thank you for a different perspective on my country. And Folkestone (pronounced Foke-stun) my nearest town for shopping... Glad you had a good time mate. 💜☮️
Got to say, visit an Island on the east of the Atlantic Ocean, in winter and you’re surprised it rains? Sorry about the fish and chips. If your cultural heritage sees fish as basis of your diet then fish and chips is going to be nothing to you. We eat very little fish in the UK, but most of it is fish and chips. Originally a cheap hot dish for the working poor. It is never meant to be high cuisine.
I went in early Spring but I'm no weather expert! Our winters/springs here are often sunny despite our rainfall/snowfall. Yes the food I've eaten growing up incorporates a lot of spices and seasoning so I guess fish n chips was just foreign to me. Thanks for watching, appreciate it!!
Glad you came upto my neck of the woods, the north west , as it's a fantastic part of the world, full of history and some amazing places. As a United fan I'm also glad you saw them play, i would highly recommend going to a rugby league game if you ever come back to visit us, you can take a pint into the stands on matchdays for them and it's a great sport too
@@RobDeMann Yes ,it struck me because there is always that separation in both Oxford and Cambridge called `Town and Gown` .Sorry to be such a nit-picker, I did enjoy seeing your trip very much .
Windsors not a city, it’s a town, towns have town halls, cities have cathedrals . Don’t get Fish and Chips in London, get them in a fishing port , then they’re fresh and delicious.
Yes it is not very logical. While the presence of a cathedral does appear to increase the likelihood of a not very big place being a city it doesn't mean that it will be one.
I started life in Folkestone and we had fresh fish every Friday, my mother having walked down to the little harbour at the bottom of what now seems to be the Artist's quarter. Last time I was there it smelled the same, fishy,
Kudos to you for seeing so much! If you get another chance, do visit the South West of England for a few days in the summer (Devon and Cornwall) for absolutely stunning coastal scenery, fishing villages and inland countryside. If you do, avoid the school holidays. June or September are best.

The best fish and chips are to be found at the coast, add lots of salt and malt vinegar for exra flavour. Buy them from a "chip shop" or "chippie" for fresh fish, pubs and restaurants usually don't have the freshest fish.

Moving to the West of England from London, that was a culture shock. To be fair, there are buses up until past 10pm here, but not the route I wanted to use! And I have done Cheltenham to Bourton on the Water by bus.

You might have noticed that the trains also run on the left, but on rivers/waterways/canals they navigate on the right.
Thanks for pointing that out John!
Ah ok, thanks for explaining Mark!
Glad I checked the comments first as I was going to post the same thing 😀
You beat me to it.
I have read that it was Napoleon who change from driving ( a carriage in those days or a troop of cavalry)) on the left to on the right just to be different, and all of Europoe followed as France had invaded most of western Europe anyway. . We Brits did not. We stuck to the old ways.
Well done, you have seen more of England in 10 days than most English people, great video. Keep it up.

I agree...Great video.. its nice to see how others see our country...❤
This is so wholesome Julie! Thanks for sharing - loved reading your experiences. Greatly appreciate you watching and observing the many changes around the towns and cities you've visited. Wonderful to have you - cheers!!
I agree it was a good video to show English cities x
The UK weather is never inappropriate...ONLY THE CLOTHING WORN! 🙂
True words spoken!
@@RobDeMann uber is on the verge of being banned AGAIN in London for really bad practices.. Black taxi cabs are much safer
black cabs are extortionate and that have to take you anywhere is a rule they ignore, try getting one to take you deep into south London no chance getting them to go to the Elephant used to be a bloody hassle
Rubbish! Never had trouble with an Uber, and you know in advance how much you're committed to. Black cabs are great, but the tab can be eye raising after traffic problems. And Uber will attend in the suburbs, too. Try getting a black cab outside the centre - and good luck with that.

HAHA LOVE THIS! Appreciate you watching man, cheers!! 🍻
Appreciate the explanation! And yes good point about Dover - it was last minute so not very well planned as you saw haha. Thank you for watching

Leeds is England's second largest financial hub after London.... It's great you enjoyed your visit Robert. Feel free to come again.....

As for the escalators, I always assumed it was because most people are right handed so it is natural to hold on with your right hand thus leaving the left side for passing

The reason for on an escalator you pass on the left is so the stationery people can hold the rail with their right-hand of course

Rain don't stop no fellow traveler! Appreciate this.
Of course that is true but for someone who is only here for a short time , they will have a better idea of the country if they visit many places and not just thde basic tourist centres. But even such places on the tourist route like Stratford or York wil give a better idea of the country that stopping in London all the time.

For sure Janette! Appreciate the lovely feedback. Thank you so much for watching. More in store for my travels!
Your question at 7:00 about why drive on the left but stay on the right on escalators, I think its just because most people are right handed, instinctively we hold onto the handrail with our right hand so keep right on the escalator
Makes sense!
Thanks for the information Stevo! Appreciate you watching!!

@@RobDeMann Don't listen to him, I'm from Liverpool and we refer to it as Paddy's day.
Thank you. A very interesting tour and experiences . Totally in awe about how much you managed to cram in! Very impressive. Very glad you enjoyed the trip.
Haha I try to go hardcore! Appreciate the love. Thank you for watching Angela!!
(Some, at least.)
Thanks for that.
Thank you so much! Appreciate the lovely feedback. Yes I had an amazing time in England and getting to know the locals especially
Thank you for clarifying this David! Much appreciated.
It's true, I lived in SE England for 10 years and I didn't find it particularly wet at all, lnfact summer from May to Sep is perfect.
@dorseyjack3206a
The weather in England can be depressing at times but we don’t have dreary weather all the time but we do have blocked weather patterns when it rains a lot.
And yesterday there were tornadoes and snow and rain and sun. 😂 I love it! That's why we're so green. ❤
Robert you are a good egg, well done you.
Good egg haha! Appreciate you watching thanks!!
When the Guards wear grey and the leaves have left the trees you have to expect rain here. Try May to September it is usually a better chance of a dry day.
The rain was no bother - had a super time in England!
Looks like a fantastic trip! Glad you enjoyed the Cotswolds ❤ we have many beautiful little places to visit in the heart of England
Beautiful indeed Lucy!! Thank you for watching. Appreciate you
They couldn't call it TJ Maxx here as there was already a company of that name.
Appreciate the explanations!! Love these. Thanks for watching Dan!!
@@RobDeMann Nice video, well put together, glad you enjoyed our little island!
Cheers 😉
Well missed indeed! Next time for sure Chris. Thank you for watching, cheers!
I left England when l was 25, moving to Canada, from l travelled the world on business. Your new trip brought back many memories. Thanks for sharing your journey of discovery.
Thank you so much for watching! Appreciate you sharing this information 😌
One thing you should have mentioned about York is that a Gate is a street and a Bar in a name means it’s a gate (as in an entrance in the castle wall).
Appreciate this information! Thank you
I live in the UK and have NEVER heard of the BritRail Pass.
WOW that's incredibly awful Dylan! Do the citizens not have any deals similar to the ease of the BritRail pass?
@@RobDeMann Naa i mean there’s annual passes but they’re only for trips between two stations (for example, London to Manchester for work) but there’s no deals, so a pass like that would usually cost up to £17k or so annually
You can get a rail card to reduce the price, student,,family,or pensioner Enroll for a class at your local college then you are a student = eligible for a student rail card
National Rail also have Ranger and Rover passes to help Brits explore specific areas. You could travel 8 days out of 15 in Devon and Cornwall from £64 with a railcard.
U.K. plugs are the best design in the world, many safety features built in to them .
Safe indeed!
Glad to see you saw my city (Bristol) as being one of your favourites. Proud to come from here!
Bristol really was amazing! Proud as you should. Thank you for watching
Well done for covering so many places. I hope that you enjoyed your adventures! And gained some knowledge about England and its people. There is a lot to see here in the British Isles.
Appreciate you David! Thank you so much for watching. England was a blast!!
It saw 148.9mm of rainfall across the month - more than 60% of its average and the wettest April since 1947."
Thank you for a different perspective on my country. And Folkestone (pronounced Foke-stun) my nearest town for shopping...
Glad you had a good time mate. 💜☮️
Appreciate it this information! Unfortunate to hear but the rain was really no bother - had a super time in England. Thank you for watching
In York you missed the Yorvik Experience and Railway museum. York museum and Gallery, etc.
Yes I did; I passed by a lot of them but I didn't have the time to actually visit inside unfortunately.
As a United fan I'm also glad you saw them play, i would highly recommend going to a rugby league game if you ever come back to visit us, you can take a pint into the stands on matchdays for them and it's a great sport too
Appreciate the recommendation! Yes will have to see a rugby game for sure. Thank you for watching!!
Really interesting and well made video. Congrats on achieving so much. Hope you get to come back soon.
Thank you for watching!
You chose the worst place for fish and chips. Biggest red flag is that they refill Heinz bottles with cheap cash and carry crap.
Interesting to hear the City of Oxford called `The Campus`.
Oh no! Did I call the city that in the captions? Definitely was not intended to do that.
Appreciate the clarifications Julie! Thanks for watching!!
Not necessarily, Map Men did a video about it. Some cities don't have cathedrals and some towns have cathedrals.
Last time I was there it smelled the same, fishy,
@@trickygoose2 if it's a church of england cathedral, i can't think of a place which is not a city ? there are some newer ones without though.
Kudos to you for seeing so much! If you get another chance, do visit the South West of England for a few days in the summer (Devon and Cornwall) for absolutely stunning coastal scenery, fishing villages and inland countryside. If you do, avoid the school holidays. June or September are best.
Thank you for the love tips! Good things haha. Appreciate you watching, cheers!!
