    I wish I could spend a week working with you Sir! I’m a CNC machining for a living guy for 35 years and know we would get along so well. I love this stuff/by the way let em all know why it’s .050 per revolution. Formula for SAE is one inch divided by the pitch.in this case 1.0/20=..050 and if it’s metric the formula will be pitch /25.4(example) M8x1.25 is 1.25/25.4=.0492 per revolution👍🏻

      Charlie Lawlor Would love to know more about it. 107, 114, 117? Did you start with the CNC ported head castings or regular ones?

    • @ShortBlockCharlie
      @ShortBlockCharlie  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i call my m8 the gentleman express, it has 131 torque and 130 hp. it is a handful to ride for a 68 year old guy. it has q4 head that have 4 different valve sizes and off set valve seats. a t-man 216 cam shaft. full sack head pipe with street cannon mufflers. it is 114 ci, with large throttle body. i use a power vision to control the efi. at 1600 rpm it has 105 torque. more to come

      That is funny I own a 2018 Harley with a M8 and it is a 107 it get 110 lbs of torque at 3,000 rpms. Your math is off

    Wow that is really impressive, I wanna build my Harley and actually traded in my twin cam to build an M8 when dyno graphs started coming out, in NA horsepower world the heads are everything and these new 4 valve heads are just awesome.

      HDstreetshark with all the new technology you can build both the twin cams and the M8’s with some impressive results.

    Question, what’s the difference between Stage 4 heads and cvo 114 heads? I did a stage 3 on mine and didn’t change heads.

    From my testing m8 114 stock port at half lift flow what a twin cam does at full lift . very noisy port hi turbulence at low lift

    What do the Milwaukee CNC heads flow at?

  • @oleironhead1367
    @oleironhead1367 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video. If your head that you ported has a larger intake chamber than the CNC heads, why is there not a substantial increase in velocity with your heads?? Thanks.

      Cause big diameter, is slow air, and small diameter is fast air, given the same cubic feet per minute. In some instances, an 883 bored to 1200 with 883 heads ,small valves, will out run a stock 1200. Hmmm?

  • @FranBunnyFFXII
    @FranBunnyFFXII 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do the CNC ported Heads fit and work on the 107 Engine? Or does it require the 114 bore Kit?

    • @ShortBlockCharlie
      @ShortBlockCharlie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      they will fit, we are working on cnc ported heads, I tried to use a set of my heads my 107, was not happy with results. I think the cams that were available at the time were the problem. check back in few months on our results

    You mention the CNC ported heads intake cc'd at 118-120 and your ported heads were 146, but you did not mention what the stock heads were? Is the port velocity much different between the stock, CNC and your ported heads?

    • @ShortBlockCharlie
      @ShortBlockCharlie  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      we have a new video coming on measuring port velocity

  • @n4thawin
    @n4thawin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    diamond finish? How do you do this? Diamond coated cartridge rolls or burrs? I can't find anything online about this.

    • @ShortBlockCharlie
      @ShortBlockCharlie  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it real simple take and old porting burr and bend it a bit. than use very slow speed and BOE LUBE for lubricant

    Charlie hey just saw your video. Do you do any porting of the stock heads if sent to you?

  • @steves8014
    @steves8014 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So it looks like Harley's cnc head improves flow some but not nearly as much as yours. That should mean that the Harley CNC heads don't sacrifice throttle response and low end torque but probably don't have near as much high end flow (high end horsepower upgrade) as yours?

    • @ShortBlockCharlie
      @ShortBlockCharlie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      flow development is a never ending process. I doing more testing on the cnc ported heads. many people are not happy with these cnc heads. I keep you updated

    Why do we have to spend so much money to have a Harley that performs like a metric does from the factory.It just a racket from Harley.

      Actually I very much enjoy building my Harley-Davidsons to the performance level I want. I’ve been riding over 50 years and have ridden bikes from every nation available. Japanese bikes used to be great during the era of the UJM but today’s Japanese and other metric bikes are just boring. There isn’t a hairs difference between manufacturers anymore, they are all repliracers with a single focus that can’t be utilized to their potential anywhere but on a racetrack. Been there done that. They are also so loaded with rider “aides” that just about anyone with a little time in the saddle can ride them reasonably fast. Super bike & Moto GP is a joke, who can’t go fast on a bike that has a computer controlling all the variables that used to be controlled by a riders talent and ability? The last real race bikes were 500cc 2 strokes and government pressure to control everything forced pussy managers to phase them out behind the global warming/climate change hoax. With Harley-Davidson I can buy and then enhance performance to my preferred level and I can also ride comfortably from coast to coast or around the world at whatever pace I see fit and despite all the haters (jealousy personified) people the world over love H-D. I have made more friends simply because I ride a Harley than I can count as the bike always serves as an ice breaker everywhere I travel. People always approach me and either compliment my bike or have questions about it. I can’t say this happened when I was riding metrics. I don’t care what bike a person rides, ride what YOU like and don’t worry about or denigrate what someone else rides.😎

    Harley Davidsons "brand new" Milwaukee 8 motor is junk, watch the below video's!
    th-cam.com/video/p-ZApNGjOuM/w-d-xo.html
    th-cam.com/video/TNc7EYTn3G0/w-d-xo.html
    The "Motor Company" did NOTHING to address my "Twinkie" Motor when it blew up after only 20K miles due to a stupid tensioner design flaw! Neither did all the other people who suffered the consequences of this sorry ass Motor Company's utilization of substandard roller bearings which were placed in the motor AND transmissions! Do you honestly think they'll do ANYTHING about this latest debacle? I'll just continue to ride my old reliable Carbureted Evo WITH throttle cables and no computer while all the of these new junk M8 bikes are getting wrenched on. "RIP Harley Davidson 1903-1998".
