You can hear the vocal track in the background for when she couldn’t hit certain notes. Her voice is naturally deep and I think it was hard for her to hit these notes on a stage (especially when you can’t hear yourself).

Cause this was in 98 or 99 when she was able to perform live once in a while (but she wasnt a great singer from the start as you can hear at 1:17 she doesnt really hit the notes, just falsetto over a backing vocals and it is not even that high) You can sing and dance at the same time if you were trained! Watch some janet jackson performances. She can do that.

So, if she sang live, and danced, it would sound all that great. I sometimes like to think if Britney would have became famous if she didn’t do that baby voice.
