I think you could repair your road with a carbon insert internally glued with Aradite . Something like a match fishing landing net handle which are very strong , but lite 🤔 one called Beast master springs to mind, or possibly a old beach caster butt cut down . The break is low down so you won’t lose the action of the rod and can get a good sized insert into the butt ,and as far up the rod as you can you won’t loose the balance of the rod . Use a Dremel to do the cutting, ruff up the carbon insert with sandpaper so the glue can get a good hold. Some fishing shops have broken rods, pole sections in storage so ask around, I never throw broken rods or pole sections away and have repaired a lot over the years. It’s just a case of finding the right carbon tube to match as close to the taper of the rod as you can find and the glue will fill in the rest 👍

Yeah thanks buddy, I agree, it seems there are the odd occasion where every company dishes out a bit of a dodgy blank. New one is feeling good again, and I've got an airsurf from daiwa as well now, which I really like to. Super light again, and more powerful than I'm used to, but loving the casting abilities 👍👍🎣🎣
I've broken two of my favourite rods this season, so I feel your pain, I didn't take it half as well you you did though. I swore so much that the flowers still won't grow where I broke the last one.

Steve buddy, it's been hard hasn't it. We have had a few fish thrown in, but it's definitely slow this year. Now with this weather it makes it that much harder. They sorted the rod pretty quickly, so good to go now👍👍🎣🙏

I really like it, stiffer than I'm used to, but it's proving to fit well with my cast and fishing. We struggled on through. Hey buddy, I can definitely try and get over to seaview at some point. I tend to only go that way if the weather is too bad for me on the west side. I've never fished Ryde pier. It's not something that massively appeals to me to be honest. I know it can be some really good fishing, but personally I'd rather be on the beach. All the best buddy, and thanks for you comments👍👍

Really should snap there. Even though you were probably at the limit of the rods load you still didn't fully compress it so I think there must have been a defect in the blank. Unlucky on snapping a new rod and on the session. It's very hit and miss lately
Yeah defo buddy. I'm hardly a power caster so no where near full compression. I reckon it was fractured under the handle wrap, only thing I can think of. They replaced it after I sent them the footage, they had to really. Was loads of tope coming out here two weeks ago. But right when it kicked off I was away. Definitely going to keep it in the memory for next year though. All from the beach you fancied, take care mate👍👍🎣🎣🙏

Mate that’s not good , I know few of the diawa tournament rods over the years have been prone to snapping in the tip , the offers always there if u like cast any of mine
Daiwa have really gone downhill with the quality of their rods now most of their marketing and budgets go on high end freshwater match rods reels and poles thats where the money is being spent ashame really as their old beach rods fetch extortionate for old top end models mind you they were almost bombproof in the day.
I must admit, a lot of the reviews of their rods say just that, they focus more on freshwater and American fishing. I do have to add, that although I did break that rod, people have being saying they are on the up. I've also bought a s cond hand airsurf, based on reviews. So I guess time will tell. Thanks bud👍👍🎣🎣

You are using big hooks for bream I use a size 4 not 4/0 size 4 and have great success
Maybe a bit of confusion, I also use size 4 to maybe a size 1, but generally I use a 2, maybe I said 4/0 by mistake 👍🎣🙏
