A few years ago a player for the Dodgers had a last name of Hu that is pronounced who. He got on first base. The legendary announcer Vin Scully said I waited a lifetime to be able to announce that who is on first.

Suggestions: The Payphone sketch (Alexander 4444), Parallel parking, Dice, Roulette, 7 times 13 = 28, Fields Employment Agency, and my favorite of all time is Niagara Falls where Sidney Fields plays an old bum in a jail cell where Costello is thrown in jail with the bum. I watched them all the time when I was a kid.

(Bud) Abbott (the tall one) and (Lou) Costello (the short one) were the most popular comedy team of the 1940s and 1950s, and the highest-paid entertainers in the world during the Second World War. Their Meet the Monster (Frankenstein, the Mummy, the Invisible Man et al.) series of feature films was the final hurrah for the Universal Studios monsters and most are worth watching (especially A&C Meet Frankenstein where you get THREE classic bad boys).

I was assigned a partner to do this skit with for ninth grade drama class and the guy didn’t come to school that day so I had to do both characters by myself. It was, interesting, to say the least. You might check out some of their movies. Abbott and Costello made a few horror/comedies. My personal favorite is Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

If you get some free time (and like older comedies) you should check out Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Like Larry Fine and Curly Howard of the 3 Stooges before them, Lou Costello convincingly played the lovable, naive, nitwit. It's really hard to recreate today, which is... imho... why a movie about T3S would flop as no one believes one could be that gullible anymore! Sadly, a sorely missed part of comedy today!

They had been doing this bit for like twenty-five, thirty years by this time, and could probably do it in their sleep.
Further, it is brilliantly designed that they can essentially jump in anywhere, in any order, or even make a slight mistake (as you see Abbott do right before the bit about pay receipts) and the other guy will automatically know what their response is supposed to be.

This is one of the most hilarious comedy skits of all time. Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were very funny comedy team. Abbott was the Straight man and Lou was the comedy foil. They made several movies in the 1940's. Bud Abbott died an alcoholic and broke. Lou Costello had heartbreak when his son drowned in the swimming pool. He worked for several child charities in honor of his dead son. I still love to watch their movies and comedy skits. I am glad somebody recommended this to you and you decided to screen it. Another comedy group was the Marx brothers. Their movies were very funny. There is a lot from the past that could find a lot of play in current times.

This was voted the funniest skit of the 20th century. This was taped in 1953, the era of the korean war and this nstion was still in recovery from the destruction of europe in WW2. I can laugh as hard at Dice Clay as I do at Abbott and Costello. The era of "clean comedy" lasted through the 70's then it all went nuts to a different kind of funny. Its all good.
