In light of this video, can I suggest a sweeteners tier list? It can include things like granulated sugar, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave syrup (there are many types of syrup), molasses, stevia extract, sugar alcohols, and many more. Would be interesting to see what are the best and worst ways to sweeten my morning coffee!

Sheer quantity can be off putting. I used to like sour cream and tolerate cottage cheese. Then I worked two summers being part of a 3 man team filling containers, assembling them into cases, and sending the cases to the warehouse. We filled about 1-2 tons of each product each day. After that I couldn't stand either of them. 35 years later, sour cream is back up to tolerable when a restaurant puts some on food, but if I ever get served cottage cheese again it would still be too soon.
This would be great. Never really thought about sweeteners other than “sweet = probably bad” but would be great to hear more about it. Honey would probably be A or S at least.
My personal opinion is to use what you like, with as little processed garbage in it. Get the ketchup that you like, and just use a little less/track how much you use. For me, I've tried the no sugar added, and I do not like how acidic it tastes.
I requested this tier list before; sweeteners. Table sugar, honey, maple, NutraSweet, etc. I know like this condiment list most are going to be D’s and F’s. But I’m sure some sweeteners (probably raw honey) will be on top.
@@Talon_Fitness as you always say, do your own research, and I did. From the few websites I looked up, there's not too many benefits to sweeteners. Molasses and maple syrup (not counting the talking plastic bottle lady) do have as you might say, "impressive amount of," micronutrients. Maple syrup has 165% Manganese (⅓ cup.) So, if you made a tier list which ones is the "best/better" sweeteners?
@@Talon_Fitness Could be intro to glucose vs fructose vs sucrose vs lactose? simple vs compound? artificial sweeteners seem to increase apetite? or the effect on glucose spikes? is fructose worse than glucose on the liver? Talon, I love your lists! I had never heard of Tahini until you mentioned it. You might want to delve into Soy Sauce a little more. In addition to Soy beans supposedly Oats and Rye can also be used also. Talon, thank you so much!

Another great, informative video. Most surprising were the ketchup (not as bad as I would have guessed), and the tahini, which I have in my pantry to make some hummus soon. I didn't know that tahini on its own could be so beneficial. Granted, there are other condiments and sauces that you could have covered, as noted in the comments - but the video would have been two hours long - or even longer! One of my favourite salad dressings is a mild hot sauce in large quantities mixed with hummus. You put that on almost any set of veggies and it'll make them taste amazing and isn't even that bad for you.
Hey Talon, I don't know if you ever read the comments, but I feel like making posters out of these tier lists would be very popular items, especially if one day you did a mega tier list of every food item ever. Like where do walnuts compare to cinnamon or steak? I know I'd buy it and hang it in a classroom or at home as a learning guide. Maybe each food group could be color coordinated so like all vegetables are green, fruit is blue, meats are red, etc? Also, an "S" tier menu with meals/snacks using just stuff from the S tiers on each list might be a pretty cool little cook book idea?

Only added a touch of salt and no sugar. Really good ngl
@@Talon_Fitness yes pretty much all grains can be converted into flour XD, but there still is coconut flour, all purpose flour, 00 flour, and supposedly many of them need to be enriched with minerals and all that because some get lost through the process, and some say whole grain flours are great, others argue they are barely nutritious, and I just don’t know who to believe, but seems like coconut flour is at the top, so I’ll go with that for now 😅 Whatever you decide is fine by me, I decided to believe in your content so that’s why I would like to know your opinion (tier list) xd

It can include things like granulated sugar, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave syrup (there are many types of syrup), molasses, stevia extract, sugar alcohols, and many more. Would be interesting to see what are the best and worst ways to sweeten my morning coffee!
Nope. Just responded to another comment about this. It's not happening and I don't want to keep your hopes up
Im so impressed by this work, you are doing soooo good doing those lists!! Thanks for your time making these videos!
I knew somebody who once worked in a factory mixing sauces. After seeing what went into them all he said the only one he would actually eat was ketchup.
They use a lot of preservatives, knowing people keep partially used jars in their refrigerators for way too long.
@@multiverser9585 Ooooooohhhh looks like you're dangerously close to kickstarting the old keeping ketchup in the fridge vs cupboard debate. Careful now.....internet vitriol may be forthcoming!
@@hnnsy If it's gon be used in like a week or two at most after opening then it's the cupboard if it's meant to stay longer to the fridge it shall belong
I'd love to see a sweetener/sugar tier list - ranking things like honey, white sugar, brown sugar, molasses, syrups etc.
This would be great. Never really thought about sweeteners other than “sweet = probably bad” but would be great to hear more about it. Honey would probably be A or S at least.
Thoughts on stuff like sugar free ketchup? Ketchup is my most used condiment, however I think the low/no sugar ones are a pretty good substitute.
My personal opinion is to use what you like, with as little processed garbage in it. Get the ketchup that you like, and just use a little less/track how much you use. For me, I've tried the no sugar added, and I do not like how acidic it tastes.
Thank you for the effort. Natto, a rare condiment made out of fermented beans, is reach in K2 and can be found in Japanese shops.
I requested this tier list before; sweeteners.
Table sugar, honey, maple, NutraSweet, etc.
I know like this condiment list most are going to be D’s and F’s. But I’m sure some sweeteners (probably raw honey) will be on top.
Explain. Because I have no idea how I'd judge that
@@Talon_Fitness you could do it based on the amount of micronutrients or calories or sugar
Agave syrup is advertised as safe for diabetics but because it also has fructose it's easier to be stored as visceral fat instead.
Still takes me several tries to wrap my head around the topic
would absolutely love to see a nutrition tier list on various cooking methods EG frying vs baking vs boiling, steaming, air frying, microwave, blanching, sous vide, grilling, smoking, slow cooking etc etc.
I know that might not be easy considering it depends alot on the temperatures used, time cooked and what’s actually being cooked in the first place, but would be interesting to hear if theres any general trends / differences between certain cooking methods.
(also phenomenal video as always, you’ve genuinely changed how I eat for the better! 😎)
babe wake up another nutrition tier list dropped
Will there be a soup tier list in the future? What about a bread tier list, or a tier list on weird foods, like fiddleheads or some flowers? Maybe even bread tier lists? These kinds of videos are some of the best videos currently on the platform, keep up the good work!
Surprised guacamole wasn't included since it's fairly common
Idem
Only white people would think guacamole is a condiment
a strictly dips list would be great eg; hummus/babaganoush/pesto/tzatziki/raita/cacik/tahini/labneh
what about oyster sauce?
Talon, I love your lists! I had never heard of Tahini until you mentioned it. You might want to delve into Soy Sauce a little more. In addition to Soy beans supposedly Oats and Rye can also be used also. Talon, thank you so much!
Notice that hummus is top tier if made with olive oil, most grocery store hummus is made with sunflower oil so that would make it noticeably less healthy
this channel reminds me of those weird information things that played on the tv at 3 am, good work
I often want to share your videos with family, but the first questions they ask me are, who is this guy, and why should we listen to him? And truthfully, I don't know enough to convince them to watch. Could we learn a little bit about you? Like, are you a dietitian? A fitness trainer?
I make my own whenever I can. Adding a large clove of raw garlic and cayenne, apple cider vinegar and it tastes so good. Thanks for this list, I think I'll open that jar of tahini and make some hummus. :)
1 minute subscribers. Never assumed people cared about this one.
Thank you for saying salt can be harmfull for people with certain conditions rather than labeling it as objectively bad
You have misprounced Worcestershire sauce. Prepare for the wrath of the British.
I did explicitly say I was scared to pronounce it
This series is the best. Can you rank different added sugars?
I'd put my sugarfree ketchup in A tier. (60kcal per 100ml) But as you said, many different brands.
Mine only has 40 kcal per 100g, but it has artificial sweeteners (sucralose) in it.
@@ZTheLastViking That's great. Nothing wrong with sucralose. Most studies point to issues with the digestive system were on mice and 100x-1000x the dose a human would ever consume.
A sweetener tier list could be good. You could include different types of sugars, honey, and natural syrups and nectars.
Babe wake up talon fitness uploaded
Always amazing to see talon upload. It helped to get me through that hard entry barrier to the healthy food world.
WHERE'S THE FOOKIN LAMB SAUCE
I don't really know if they share many differences but a list on peppers would sure grab my attention
Great job, I learned a lot. Hope to see a part 2. A lot of good suggestions in the comments that weren't covered. Would like to see hot oil sauce and eel sauce in the next.
Probably the only channel I click Like when the video starts
Another great, informative video. Most surprising were the ketchup (not as bad as I would have guessed), and the tahini, which I have in my pantry to make some hummus soon. I didn't know that tahini on its own could be so beneficial.
Granted, there are other condiments and sauces that you could have covered, as noted in the comments - but the video would have been two hours long - or even longer! I always take a photo of the final ranking list and review them when I am planning food prep and also at the grocery. I appreciate you!
Hi, I just wanted to say that I get a lot of value from watching your videos. It helped me create an amazing, healthy, sustainable diet. That being said, only one part of it is missing as I don't eat meat so an idea for the next Tier List can be vegan sources of protein: tofu, tempe, robi, seitan etc
I think it’s a crime you didn’t include chick-fil-a sauce 😛
Great tier list! Love to see that all my Mexican stuff is towards the top 😁😁
Mentioning brands has so far been avoided on this channel, presumably to avoid legal drama, whether frivolous or not.
As someone with a large supply of free eggs: whole egg mayonnaise is SUPER easy to make and you can add whatever spices you want. I usually preseason my mayonnaise since the fats will help store the flavor overtime making whatever dish it gets added to have a better depth of flavor
Do you have chickens?
@@Michael-es4dt I do! They give me a truly compelling reason to go outside and get a little fresh air and sunshine every day~
Much respect for calling mayo an instrument. You're a real one.
Would love to see a bread tier list one day
I have to say
Home made salsa made from tomato peels is amazing too.
I started with that because my parents discard the tomato peels when making tomato soup. I decided to break them down a bit further by stirfrying them with some olive oil, some herbs and veggies like celery, onion, garlic and pepper. Then blended it. Only added a touch of salt and no sugar. Really good ngl
Love your vids. My goals currently are to cultivate mass. Making home made mayo has been a game changer for me. So easy and taste great
Great as always! Next up organ meat tier list please. Highly nutritious and underrated
Hi, thanks for all your content, it’s very informative, if possible could we please have a flour tier list in the future?
Thank you~
Wouldn't that be very similar to the grains one?
@@Talon_Fitness yes pretty much all grains can be converted into flour XD, but there still is coconut flour, all purpose flour, 00 flour, and supposedly many of them need to be enriched with minerals and all that because some get lost through the process, and some say whole grain flours are great, others argue they are barely nutritious, and I just don’t know who to believe, but seems like coconut flour is at the top, so I’ll go with that for now 😅
Whatever you decide is fine by me, I decided to believe in your content so that’s why I would like to know your opinion (tier list) xd
Now I have 2 reasons to love hot sauce.
Also it's good to know that I tend to gravitate towards the more healthy condiments on this list.
It seems that flavor enhancements real killer video is comming up. Looking forward to it. Really I think that Aspartame has to be the next real killer
You nailed the worcestershire pronunciation bro
Can we do a cooking method tier list?
It’s great knowing what’s healthy, however knowing the best way to cook things to maintain all nutrition is definitely an important part of the process also
>>While, this may feel like an unnecessary addition to the series
definitely not - probably one of your most important
This is a nice list. Nice to know about Tahini and humus being decent.
Some of these I think could make other lists (humus vs beans and other bean products?). Tahini vs olive oil or butter (if that's not already there in the oil list).
I'm not sure what next. Breakfast foods?
Already knew hot sauce was gonna be S-tier 🤤🥵🔥
As someone who basically only uses mustard and hot sauce I see this as a win
This man is single handedly responsible for my meal plan/grocery cart 😂 goat
