Just keep focusing on what you said. You are doing all the hard things and still making progress towards your goals!!! Some months my husband and I do not make forward progress towards our goals, but we are not backsliding into more debt and for us that is a HUGE win! I have to constantly remind myself of that. That even though it is not linear progress it is still progress!
Thank you so much, I needed to hear that! The work that we did to lay a foundation all last year is really carrying us through right now, and I am so grateful to that!
Love this week's budget with me. SO MUCH LOVE and teamwork! You two are an inspiration! Kayleigh, you are going to crush this SL debt. You already are. Just be patient and find the sweet spot between the marathon and the sprint! I am so happy you two found each other and also happy you started this channel. You are growing and evolving into awesomeness every single week. Have a LOVELY weekend, you two love birds! See you next week!
You are too kind!! This channel has really helped me balance that marathon/sprint idea. It gives me something to “work” on without feeling like I’m dwelling too hard on just staring at the loans…which I very much used to do. Have a wonderful weekend!!
I am really enjoying watching you guys do your budget….doing mine each week has become a highlight and I never thought I would be this person. lol! Keep doing what you guys are doing…it’s not a sprint but a marathon.
You guys are doing so well, and I echo the sentiments of people in the comments; I thought January was going to be a slog of a month and February seems to have hit harder! My wife and I got married almost a year ago to the day and I can totally understand the all-consuming feeling of having to plan a day for you, your family, your friends and a million other things. As much as people say it should be your day, we all know that's not the way it pans out, certainly financially! Keep trooping, guys! And more than ever make space for the two of you, keep listening to each other and make sure to communicate as it's clear you do already. Cheers!
Congrats on your anniversary! We are so excited about the wedding but yes….it is a million things to plan. Thank you for the advice! We definitely need to make sure there’s a moment to just….be….on that day for us.
You sound like me, I HATE asking people for money that they owe me. I'd rather just cover it than ask for it back. They usually will get mad at me when they remember like "Why didn't you remind me?!" but I just hate asking for money back 😅 I was just about to say I use the snooze function for my giving category (which I totally stole from y'all!) because I fully fund it and then distribute the funds to the sub categories as I spend and YNAB doesn't ask me to add more as I go. I guess others do it too 😊 I feel you on the overwhelm sometimes, you sound like you have your priorities in line and the end goals in sight. I'm so glad you're still here sharing with us ❤
1000% I have absolutely had that exact same scenario happen to me many times 😂 I am LOVING the snooze hack to redistribute the vacation funds!! My new favorite thing!
Loving the snooze button, best thing ever! Even in the tough times, you are still making progress, look at you thinking about finding another $200 to knock out that student loan, like it was nothing! #mindsetshift ❤. Each season of life has its challenges and its joys. You've got this!
Doesn't hurt that these challenges are also the most joyful joys, this phase of life is so stressful but also SO fun! And that is very true....several years ago I couldn't even come up with the $150 minimum income based payment on these loans, and now I'm ready to throw an extra $200 a month at it.
I feel you on your mind just keeps going. That is me. March is jam packed with events and I feel so overwhelmed 🤦🏼♀️ my mind won’t turn off. We’ll get through it one way or another 😊
I love that you are working to get ahead little by little. Just a thought, you could put your extra from rent buildup onto your other bills instead of rent for another month. I tried your method for a while but would lose track of it, with money being budgeted in 3 months... Love watching your progess!
That’s probably a good point. We’ve been wanting to get a month ahead but it would probably be easier to keep track of the other ‘next month’ bills than rent to start
Yes! I am a huge budget nerd, I have a daily spender budget that I share with Shea, a student loan budget, a fun money budget, and a high yield savings account budget 🫢

Isn’t it wild how fast budgeting becomes fun?? I literally look at my budget every single day.

There’s just always something to do! I need a week off where I just sit in my house and don’t even have to do dishes 😂
@@justfinance3362 yesss! Once this month is over, I don’t want to be bothered lol. We’re gonna go into hibernation
Great progress!! Good luck on starting the full show production 😊
We are so excited for her to have her weekdays back, and I am excited to finally see it!
You all are doing great. I hope the ALL THE STUFF shows down a little soon.
Thank you so much! Hard to imagine what life will be like in July when things have calmed down!
I was thinking this morning that February has seemed like a long month.
Isn't it wild how the shortest month is feeling the longest?!

Get the laundry soap at costco
Good idea!! Shea is very particular about scents but I will look and see what our options are when we go later!
Such an aggressive intro! 😂
Shea definitely starts off with the grumpies in the morning 😂
I’m here for it!
Do you have a separate YNAB account for your student loans. That is a good tracker
Yes! I am a huge budget nerd, I have a daily spender budget that I share with Shea, a student loan budget, a fun money budget, and a high yield savings account budget 🫢
