Piaynemo Day Trip in Raja Ampat, Indonesia | "The Last Paradise"

In this video we will be taking a day trip to Piaynemo in the beautiful paradise of Raja Ampat, Indonesia!
It is our first full day here in Raja Ampat, Indonesia and we could not be more excited to be here!! It took us around 24 hours of travel to get here yesterday even though we were already in Bali. As soon as we got off the boat yesterday at Doberai Private Island, we could tell it’s going to be worth all the effort!
The name Raja Ampat means Four Kings because of the 4 main islands but it is actually a group of 1500 islands. Today we are going to be taking a day trip around to a couple of different spots starting with Piaynemo. This is a really popular and beautiful viewpoint of many small, surrounding islands.
We hire a boat for the day which is very expensive because the fuel costs in this area are so high. You can cut down on the cost of the day trips if you can find others to join in but for today at least, it is just the 2 of us!
Things get off to a bit of an interesting start... our boat driver was around 2 hours late and we come to find out that the police had taken over the gas station in Waisai so our boat driver had a very hard time getting fuel.
Once the boat arrives, we set off and the ride takes around 2 hours before we make it to Piaynemo. We have a quick 15 or so minute walk up a bunch of stairs until we reach the viewing platform. It seriously takes our breath away. The water is crystal clear with the most amazing turquoise blue color looking out over all the small, stunning islands.
We admire the amazing views for over an hour and are so surprised to be the only tourists here. This is one of the things we will come to love about Raja Ampat, because it is so remote, there are very few tourists!
We head back to the boat and have some lunch before we head to a nearby spot for snorkeling.
If the snorkeling is anything like it was yesterday at our place, we are in for a treat. We jump in and are not disappointed. We snorkel for 45 minutes or so and see SO MANY fish... literally there are thousands of fish and so much amazing, colorful coral and the visibility is incredible!
After our snorkel, we head the 2 hours back to our place and take it easy the rest of the afternoon. It was a perfect first day here!
