    Hey mate. Listen, I think I actually under played the skill you have as a film maker / editor. Breathtaking scenes along sections of river I have seen lots of times (from Australia) on canoe vids but never as beautiful as you have portrayed them man. Well done. Come to OZ and have a look at landscapes that are cruel and beautiful.

    Great vid mate, love the videography - I want a drone to take on trips with me, I like how you use it to show off the surroundings and put things into perspective. I'll get one some day!
    It's a lovely river, never seen it that low though. I've only got on at the bridge at 9:20 for a trip down to Ammanthwaite, the section above looks lovely too, like to see that first weir with more water on it.
    Also for next time, it's easier getting out river right just below the bridge onto a public footpath in a field ;)
    Like the chat at the end - so true. One of my favourite film quotes is from Nicholas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds - "Without disappointment, you can't appreciate victory"

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked it Phil and thanks for watching and commenting :-)
      The drone is awesome I have the DJI Mini which weighs only I think only 249g (plus controller is prob another 250g?) It also folds and packs super small. I like it a lot and as you say can capture the essence of the situation in a powerful way. Highly recommend you get it. If you do, the DJI Mini 2 is the newer version and comes with a bit more functions. Like "Follow me" etc.
      Thanks for the tip on getting out haha!! This river is so beautiful but yeah it was SUPER low. Hopefully the SPEY won't be as bad in places.. Also I did this river in winter one and a guy came at me with a gun from a field.. saying I had no navigational rights blah blah. Some angry people in the world.. that video is also on TH-cam.
      Glad you liked the philosophical ending, sometimes you get those moments of clarity and it's worth capturing. Like the N Cage quote! Nice one bud, keep on adventuring man!

    What river? What canoe? What paddles? Found part of it,, Lacy's caves I found River Eden, Penrith, UK Paddle,, is that an Arrow, Bending Branches?

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct on everything mate!!

    • @Sailor376also
      @Sailor376also 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EzeAdventurer I am a big fan of Bending Branches and the Arrow paddle in particular. I canoe and camp as well. Most of mine are short 150 kilometers, a week plus. Plus is a measure of how many books I have with me, how lazy, or how many layover days. Green River , Utah, USA for one

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sailor376also Hey buddy that's awesome mate!! Yeah the paddle's quite wide but I tend to like it too for some reason, it just works, like an all rounder you know? What river(s) would you recommend? Do you live in Green River, Utah?

    • @Sailor376also
      @Sailor376also 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EzeAdventurer This may become a conversation,, and that is just fine. I live in Michigan. So I am about 3,000 kilometers away from most of the large rivers I like. I do paddle frequently here near home,,, mostly smaller rivers.
      Suggestions. In Utah, the Green River. North of the town of Green River, Utah there is about a 150 kilometer stretch, Desolation / Gray Canyons, permits required of mostly Class II and Class III rapids. A canoe works wonderfully, but,, you must have a full spray deck and skirts. Solid water coming down the deck is normal. Nearly everyone uses a whitewater raft,, but family friendly,, wives and kids out there, normal. Second,, Just to the south of Green River, Utah there are the Labyrinth and Stillwater Canyons,, 200 kilometers to the Confluence with the Colorado River. Wonderful canoe stretch,, just a couple Class I riffles, no cover required, red rock desert, national parks, permits have been easy to get,, beautiful and amazing. Arrange for a powered boat to pick you up at the Confluence out of Moab, Utah. Immediately downstream of where the rivers join is Cataract Canyon,, 100 kilometers of Class IV and Class V,, ferocious water. Arrange for the pick up. In Montana,, the Missouri River from Fort Benton to the James Kipp recreation area. There are other rivers and stretches I can recommend.
      Any of the large reservoirs on the Missouri River or Colorado River, I have canoed, camped Lakes Powell, Mead, Mohave, Havasu, Fort Peck. Bugs are not usually a problem,,, wind is. You should plan your day around travel from Dawn to noon (10 to 60 kilometers),, afternoons are for hiking, reading, bad food, exploration, goofing off. Feel lazy,, take an extra day or two right there.
      I have become a big fan of whitewater in a canoe,,, but I do not recommend, in general, whitewater and canoes. (There ARE special whitewater canoes.) I normally paddle a large canoe, 20 footer, 6 meters,, and Arrow paddles. the large canoe allows me to carry my water,, food for up to 6 weeks, normal glass cloth and resin for required river side repairs. My longest single trip , 2,000 kilometers,, 11 weeks,, solo,, two resupply points along the way. Multiple 300 and 600 kilometer trips. Lots and lots of 150 and 200 kilometer trips. Getting older and fatter,, over 70 y.o.,, may have to cut back some day.
      If you come to this side of the pond,, give me plenty of advance warning,, I'll see if I can secure a permit for us.

      @@Sailor376also WOW!!! I always get super excited to meet people like you, who have SOOOO much experience!! Congratulations on the wonderful experiences you've created in your life, this is very much my intention. 11 weeks solo, 2000km, resupplies... aaaah sounds INCREDIBLE... what an experience that must have been!! Really intend to do those sort of trips sometime in my life. I try to balance the adventure with family life, but it's not easy sometimes, as the draw to adventure can be overwhelming at times! Totally agree re whitewater and canoes... I'll have to take time to look into and learn more about all the rivers and routes you've mentioned above. I'd love to visit your land and for our paths to cross! maybe I can email you to stay in touch? all the best new friend 🙂

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ben! It's actually 15.5ft! I'd say it's a bit on the large side for me alone, but ideal in terms of carrying capacity and when you go tandem. Glad you like the content bud - keep on adventuring!

  • @crisandrew7058
    @crisandrew7058 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi love your videos was just wondering how you get back to your car with your canoe on all these adventures?

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cris! Haha good question! With this one, I found a taxi guy in the area who has super google ratings and basically trusted him with my car! Gave him my car, he took it home, and came with my car to where I put out. This was the second time I did this sort of thing, he's solid! If you need someone in the area, I can recommend him!

    • @EzeAdventurer
      @EzeAdventurer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      PS. The other option is dropping all your gear at the start, driving to the finish, leaving your car there and taking a taxi back to the start. My method gave me full flexibility and allowed me to finish ANYWHERE
