Out of all of the masterpieces that you could have written this time (which is to say, without a doubt, many), I can't believe that you would choose to write this exact one. It contains so many images and metaphors that I can relate to so deeply. Two years ago, my only brother died of cancer at age 30. Since he passed away in our childhood home at the beginning of summer, one of the last few things I could do for him was to plant a whole bunch of flowers under his window, which with great effort he managed to get up to see. At his memorial service, I read a poem by M. Hernández that (in the original in Spanish) went something like this: "You will come back to my garden, and the flowers will once again bloom up the window bars". Besides, I have always been obsessed with all things bees, so, as I garden on, I like to think that every little bee I see is him checking in. This song brought so many tears to my eyes, and I will cherish it forever. Can't wait to have it in an album! Thank you so much, Elle. 💛🌈
P.S.: Aside from being an outstanding writer and musician, you're my dream girl, and I wish that the universe would make an exception and, _just this once_ , interfere to send you my way. But alas, I'm on the opposite end of the continent, by the foot of a different mountain range and surrounded by different vineyards, and I doubt your path will ever wind by here... Still, a girl can dream! 😁

Such a beautiful story-song…could easily write a move script from it, and wouldn’t that be a perfect blend. I’d stand in a cold, long line for a ticket, and to hear this as the opening or credits score. A bitter sweet ending, but Elle’s incomparable poetry opens the heart for any finality. And with Toni’s soft harmonies and sublime mandolin…so polished. Brilliant. Thanks, ladies! More please. Much more.
