It gets better! It depends on your housing number, but a lot of second-years move to apartment style housing (usually good housing numbers) or IV (usually the not so good housing numbers), so either of those would be a step up from the freshman dorms! That stinks that your dorm in Smith isn't so great, but at least you have better dorms ahead of you past freshman year! :)
Hi! For my dorm, I had to push my hamper myself. However, I didn't move in on my buildings 'official' day since I changed my move in time. I saw some people pushing carts by the dav buildings, so there might be people to help if you move in on an 'official' day for your building, but I believe they will only help you load your cart and bring it to the front of the building and then you have to bring it up yourself. I hope that helps! :)
Hi! So based on what I saw, they aren't enforcing it at all lol. I think you would have to go in 2 trips (like can't take 2 carts at the same time) but they aren't really monitoring how many times you go in/out so you can most likely do 2 trips if you need. I have a feeling they made the one cart rule just to get us all to pack light, but they won't actually limit you to one cart if your stuff doesn't fit. Hope that helps! :)
