- Malawi's economy has grown literally from 0 to the current 7.9% as a result of some sound macroeconomic policies and government's agricultural subsidy programme. This programme has received much criticism from the international donor community, a relationship which was key in getting the country's economy off the ground when Bingu wa Mutharika came into power as President in 2004. Sue Beukes spoke to the president and asked him how he managed to balance the relationship between the much need donor support and implementing his agricultural subsidy programme.

To be honest this professor was a person with plans to solve problems for his nation,by the time he was saying this to the whole world it's like he was very rude to every malawian and to the world, but this was the only way he was suppose to say in order to save today's Malawi,Bingu Muthalika was a person who was willing to keep things fair (balance) for both poor and rich people in malawi ,as am commenting this tears are falling towards poor people in my country it's unfair now because only rich people can afford food and other basic needs ,he was a president who was busy solving main problems in the country ....my prayer please God raise your hand and your eyes upon Malawi,you gave us moses and you called him back please give us someone who will take his position to transform our country to where he was planning to take it to,forsure nobody knows who must he/she be and it's only you who knows.God keep protecting Malawi from all the problems people are facing Amen.

President Bingu was a True visionary, a real Pan Africanist and an international Icon. sadly missed. very few Presidents can challenge the IMF and the so called economists but he did.

What Bingu is doing is the right thing, I must insist that we need to get rid of NGOs that are doing nothing other spoiling the spirit of hardwork, instead let's empower the government to carry out it's plans.
