Being blind folded would be really intimidating. You can’t read body language and what not.
In comparison to equivalent video with girl lead, he was not trying. He was clearly judging by gender and so terrified of it that he barely made an effort. As girl put it "He was boring". If he was so nervous and worried about gender, he should not have signed up for this in the first place.
Because of his terror, he didn't really give them a chance to do anything. That short guy seemed like a good kisser in the other video. Here he was barely allowed to do anything or given a chance so obviously ended up being bad.

The ladies had no problem kissing other ladies, even though they were heterosexual. And that's my point. They allowed themselves to completely go for it, secure enough in their sexuality to not let kissing an individual of the same gender threaten their identity or other people's perceptions of their identity. The irony is that they'd probably be less apprehensive when they're NOT being filmed. And that's all I was trying to say. Don't agree to jump out of your comfort zone for the VERY FIRST TIME on this particular subject, on camera, and then hold back. It doesn't make for a very great video in my opinion.

the fact that he's even there and having other men kiss him, is something. yeah he might be concerned about his dad seeing it but that's because of the societal pressures some men face. and you don't know what kind of upbringing this guy had.
this guy made for much more interesting viewing, at least for me. he accomplished a personal goal and it was great.

But my personal frustration with this issue comes from years of seeing & watching watered-down representations of non-heteronormative conforming expressions of sexuality in the mainstream media, being gay myself. I could be a little more empathetic, this is true. Like you've pointed out - I have no idea what this guy's background is. And I do sympathize with that. It's in the gay handbook, to respect other people's journeys and the pace at which they wish to embark upon that journey with. And I respect that 'rule'. And I applaud him and all the other guys for partaking in the experience.
However, on a personal note, IT'S 2017! The LGBT movement has come so far. And we've accomplished so much. And I'm just not here for watering down the colours in our beautiful rainbow anymore, for anyone. If you're gonna be part of the completion of the revolution so to speak, then you gotta represent us unashamedly, unabashedly. If you're gonna stand with us, then you've gotta show up with all of yourself. My frustration is a lot deeper than with the guys or the video. Its about what even being able to create a video like this in this day and age means. And what that represents. So on a personal level, I damn well fucking demand perfection!lol
Cause we, me and so many others who came before me, fought to be able to get here.
