Wow it sounds like everything that could go wrong .. did go wrong. I can really identify with that situation. But .. what a recovery, you did an excellent job. Exceptionally clean build, and you really captured the intangible essence of the car .. for the lack of a better expression. and Yes... too much pressure makes this seem like a job instead of a fun hobby. have some cookies ... 🍪🍪🍪🍪 you earned them
Hi Kurt! I am so glad you understand where I was at with this build. All the issues where indeed builder error. However, I feel i have grown some from this experience! I am hoping future builds will reflect this. thank again my fiend!
Awesome job. We learn a lot about ourselves when we get outside of our comfort zone. It is always good to learn new techniques because we can use them on other projects. Thanks for sharing!
That came out awesome! That is pretty close to perfection. After hearing the discussion of commission builds, you guys had on the podcast, I can see why you wouldn't do anymore. Thanks for sharing.
OMG, BG! Your hair is on fire! ...oh, oh wait...that's just your sanity. Carry on! All jokes aside - it's great that you persevered and finished...with an awesome and excellently done kit to boot!
Beautiful work Bryan. I know this thing gave you some fits but you could never tell from where I’m sitting. It’s a beauty. You should be proud. Awesome work pushing through and knocking this out of the park.
The Nissan turned out great Bryan. Even though it was a Tamiya "Shake the Box" kit it still turned into a build of "Adversity" but you persevered and it turned out GREAT! I've found that the longer & longer you stick with this hobby you acquire more skills(window masks) in your "Toolbox of Techniques" BUT you also get more and more self-critical of your work. That's when having a trusted best friend(Mrs. B.G.) or other modelers(Jason,Chuck, Luka) that you respect comes in handy to tell you the truth, whether they point out a mistake that you did or to tell you "Bravo" and stop being so negative about your work. I'm sure that the person who commissioned this build will love it and cherish it. BTW, "Perfection Takes Time" is the best quote of the year! I hope that you & Mrs. B.G. have a relaxing & safe holiday weekend & take care Bryan. Tom S.
It looks great! don't be so hard on yourself. I can understand being extra critical when it's being built for someone else, especially a commission. I did an AMT 1970 corvette as a gift for a coworker and the deadline drove me crazy. but yours looks really good and now I will search to get one and opt for the PE details as well.
Outstanding work, such a journey you have been on, commission builds do have a certain effect on you ,but you have created a master peice. All the best Martin
Worth the wait, you can be proud of the resulf even if it took longer than expected. Looks good without clear, I was going to ask how you got the sheen just right.
Thank you so much! =) at the time i felt clear would be another way i can mess up the build. I feel vindicated not having done that LOL. I appreciate the kind comment my friend!
Sounds like a real struggle but it turned out great and pushing the envelope helps improve your skills. I wouldn't even try a commission build, my skills and paints are not up to trying to meet those standards. I'm enjoying building for myself and as the years go by I'm fiinding the bar is getting lower. 🙂 You can have my cookie, you've earned it. 😀
Hi Steve! It was a big project, and now, after having delivered the model to my client, it turns out it was a bigger deal than I originally thought. =) I feel like getting back to building for myself would be a very nice change of pace! thanks for passing me your cookie! =)
Major Kudos to you for having the courage to step out of your comfort zone, on top of the stress that comes with commission work. I used to take commission work when I restored Tonkas, I will never again! Beautiful, beautiful build BG!
Proud of you Brother. You never gave up. Not surprised by Troy's comment back to you. He is an awesome individual.
@@TheLukaCeeChannel Thank you my friend, and thanks again for getting me in touch with Troy. It has become a very welcome experience working with him.
@@BGsModelWorkshop I'm glad. I knew that you two were perfect together for this project.

It may have been a long road on your build, Bryan but the car looks amazing in the end. Your builds are way better than I could do.
Hi Laurencio! Thank you! I appreciate that kindness, I'm sure you are far better builder than you say. =)
Nice build! I'm sure anyone would be impressed with "flappy panels" behind the steering wheel. Those are totally approved! 😎
Thank you so much Tim!!! Personally I hate flappy paddles! I'd rather have a good old fashioned shifter!! 😁
That came out awesome! That is pretty close to perfection. After hearing the discussion of commission builds, you guys had on the podcast, I can see why you wouldn't do anymore. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Alan, I truly appreciate your kind comment! Thank you! Yeah, the pressure i heaped on myself was just too much.

@@BGsModelWorkshop absolutely, I was a perfectionist to the point of having zero fun, and I had a fraction of the parts you did!
Great point! Sort of sucks the fun right out!!
