Very interesting and very beautiful palms you have there! I just received and attempting to grow Mapu from seeds. Wish me luck and thank you for the fun and interesting video.
To be frankly, I envy you because of these plants and the climate conditions you are happened to live in ... and i have never seen a plant that is more beautiful than your mapu😍
Oh wow....thank you so much Adam. Yes am blessed to be in a tropical climate making a tropical garden. You've just reminded me of my mapu - gonna gaze with it with more love tomorrow :)
I love your plant called Licuala cordata so much cause of its round and attractive shape and it took me 1 month to find out its name but after digging all your video finally i found out its name today. Can i buy this plant for UK? Any idea where i can buy this plant? Many thanks.
I just recently discovered your channel and been going through all your videos. You have gorgeous plants, specially the Licualas. By the way, Sarawak is just an amazing land and the biodiversity is astonishing, definitely one of the best trips I have ever done and hope I can return soon. Greetings from Portugal.
Hi Catarina! Yes, one of the highest biodiversity! Sadly forest pretty ravaged for timber in the last few decades...so glad to hear you have enjoyed your trip there. Let me know when you go again :)
I love your collection and I love your personality! I’ve definitely added a few palms to my wishlist. The cordata is the reason I clicked on the video, but the orbicularis is adorable too 😱💕 Newly subscribed to your channel and looking forward to checking out more of your content! God bless! 💚💚💚
I super dooper luv your palms👍💚 specially your Liquala Cordata, it's been quite awhile that i've been looking for it in our local plant sellers but no available. So pls take good care of yours. Btw, as you were asking about the "Black Palm", we call that here " Hawaiian Palm". Keep posting videos, i am really entertained & of course grateful with your tips & amazed with your very organic humors. 👍👍👍💚💚💚
Awesome video of palms. Wish I could grow the Saribus and the lipstick palm here in Sacramento, CA. Also the "Mapu palms," are available in nurseries here but not sure of its success rate. Thank you for all your lovely videos. Brings back memories of my family garden in Malaysia.
I’m getting to live through you with these gorgeous dream palms. My climate is much to hot and bone dry to ever have some of these 😿 thank you for making this video!
Great video! I live in south Florida and love anything Licuala! Currently have Licuala Ramsayi and Licuala Grandis... Would love to add Cordata to the mix!
Wow😍😍😍 i love it irene the 3 kinds of licuala so gorgeous. God is great He made all things beautiful. Its a rare i dont think i find it here in the Philippines 😟
The blue Bismarck palm has been on my wishlist for awhile. It is however hard to find a juvenile to buy. I can only do potted. But man I love driving around town and seeing them
They are slow growers ....but I got them already pretty mid size and already in circle. I would say perhaps a couple of years of yours is a pretty young plant.
I got it from Floranika in Sg Buloh. Saw a couple also in other nurseries but usually labeled "not for sale". Its not easy to come by and good luck in your hunt!
@@leafing.around thanks.I like both after watching your video. took around half year to find them locally and finally make it..Now still learning to take good care of mapu and cordata
Love your peaceful tone. Very relaxing and I absorb more information this way. I'm looking for a online source to buy palm leaves dried for use I DIY projects of my own. Thank you so much.
So happy to hear that! I do keep the dried palm leaves...planning to use them as decor but haven't figure out how and where yet! What will you use them for?
jungle drum must be called mermaid tail palm as i think it looks like mermaid's tail and second i just love love your videos recently discover your channel and your hardwork is shown in your each video and your country is really beautiful want to visit
I was looking for a video about liquala mapu and found your video - I had to subscribe to your channel because you have such a wonderful personality. My dream is to own liquala mapu one day. Greetings from Finland!
I’m in the US and licuala mapu needs to grow in terrarium because it needs so much humidity. I have seen it grow outside in south Florida were its tropical and very humid in gardens.
I definitely feed my palms in Florida in the US. Our soil is very sandy and the palms love it but it doesn't hold much magnesium and iron so they become deficient without fertilizer. I use both a slow release granular fertilizer and give them a boost from a palm foliar feed nutrient spray made by the Southern Agriculture brand. That stuff is really great and I've never had issues with leaf burn. Not sure if it's available in your country.
My favourite palm is coconut , there is no day I can imagine without consuming coconut ,we use flesh for making curry, coconut oil , fire wood, trunk used to make furniture , etc... There is no part of this plant is kept unused . it's whatshaped kerala people who we are today ✌️😊
Even if I heard only the "oi!" in isolation (after you spotted the monkeys in the fan palm at around 2:50 onwards), I would somehow know you were Malaysian. The way you said it is just so us lah. haha
In the Caribbean there are lots of palms eg. The tall one is called the fishtail palm (black palm) but in the Caribbean they are given different names. There is one called the traveling palm and there are lots more
Bismackia silver palm are the favourite of the white ants at thier roots. Very sad my bismackia was 12 feet tall but was attacked by white ants. The trunk was more than 3 feet circumference
Beautiful palms and garden! The Licuala Cordata almost put a tear to my eye. I was so in awe of it's beauty.
Your garden is a dream!!! I love how you deliver your love for plants!! I’m a fan from the Philippines ❤️
Thank you so much, Yumi!
That black palm reminds me of the foxtail palm, Woodyetia bifurcata. Love those licualas!

They are slow growers ....but I got them already pretty mid size and already in circle. I would say perhaps a couple of years of yours is a pretty young plant.
Sorry for interrupting! I want to ask how long doest it take to form completely Licuala Mapu from young plants?

@@leafing.around thanks for the info, heard Sg Buloh has lots of nurseries, surely will make a trip there to hunt for plants😍
Excellent video. The Jungle drum, however, is not a true palm. Check, I think it's in the Cyclantheaceae family.
Yes, Carludovica
Love your videos! More please!
Thanks for the love! Really appreciate it as still figuring out how to film. 😅Will keep 'em coming!
The black palm you mentioned is known as a foxtail palm here in Australia.
