    It was kind of tricky, the math. Yes, you do the x then the +, but its based on the strips of color. A strip of green is 7, a strip of pink is 1 and 2 strips of yellow is 4. Since there was 2 strips of green and 3 strips of pink, the problem was actually 14 - 3 x 4 = 14 - 12 = 2

      Technically she wasn't lagging in game but what ever is encoding her video started to struggle probably due to firewall (since it was intermittent stuttering) which probably means gta runs off gpu and her encoder is done by cpu. i feel like osie just needs someone to slightly tweak her recording settings and she won't have issues, even changing frame size from traditional 1080p to 936p can reduce encoder cpu usage by 5-20% depending on cpu and also render more frames alot easier.

    I thought I was so smart with that maths question. As soon as I saw it I thought that the size of the coloured sections above decides the numbers on the bottom. so orange is already the same size so it stays as 4, the green for 7 looks like 2 sections of one above so it would be 77 and the pink 1 looks like 3 sections of the top one together so it makes 111. So it would be 77-111x4. I then realised I was no better at maths than they are as this comes to -136 🤦‍♂️

    • @jfolz
      @jfolz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry mate, but that's -367. Still, your interpretation of the puzzle makes more sense than what the map maker intended. Implicit addition is not a thing. Substituting colored blocks with the digit is reasonable. The algebraically correct solution (colored blocks are variables) is 7⋅7 - 1⋅1⋅1 ⋅ 4 = 45.

  • @maxwellzembower7653
    @maxwellzembower7653 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here's how that math problem worked for those who are confused.
    The key is the size of the rectangles as you'll notice the green and pink are smaller than they are in the problem.
    So in the math problem, it's (2 x 7) - (3 x 1) x (1 x 4) as there are 2 greens added together, 3 pinks added together, and 1 yellow square respectively.
    So following order of operations, it's (14) - (3) x (4) = 14 - 12 = 2. The answer is in-fact, 2.

    The math answer is two because the green and pink are only fractions of the squares in the question so it comes out to two green rectangles which is 14 (2 x 7) minus three rectangles which is 3 (3 x 1) multiplied by one orange square which is 4 so written out its 14 - 3 x 4 following bedmas you get
    = 14 - 3 x 4
    = 14 - (3 x 4)
    = 14 - 12
    = 2
    Like so people can see this and understand pls

  • @Jindo1
    @Jindo1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    20:48 So the reason it's 2 and not 3 is because of the width of the coloured boxes.
    The variables are: 4 = 2-wide orange, 7 = 1-wide green, 1 = 1-wide pink:
    The equation is: 2-wide green minus 3-wide pink times 2-wide orange
    This becomes: (2 lots of 7) minus (3 lots of 1) times (1 lot of 4) = 14 - 3 x 4 = 14 - 12 = 2

    Maths is based on the width of the colors as well as the color themselves. The green one was 2 wide and thus there was 2 'greens' making it two 7s or 14. pink was 3 wide and it was a 1 so three 1s is 3 and the orange was only was wide of 1 so one 4 is 4. So the real math was 14 - 3 x 4 =
    So
    14 - 3 x 4 = 14 - 12
    14 - 12 = 2

  • @StrangelyIronic
    @StrangelyIronic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The math makes sense, the map maker should have spaced out the pieces a bit more and had a single yellow to show that it's multiple boards of color with each having the value of the single board (besides 4, which is 2 boards for some reason).
    g=7, p=1, y=4 where it's 2(g)-3(p)*1(y), 2(7)-3*4, 14-12, so the answer is 2.

    • @deadersurvival4716
      @deadersurvival4716 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it doesn't, because even when you space out the pieces, that's not how variables work. x+x*y+y+y*z is x+xy+y+yz, not 2x+3y+z

    The math's puzzle is solved as such:
    Orange = 4
    Green = 7
    Pink = 1
    In the equation their are:
    3 lines of Pink = 3
    2 lines of Green = 14
    3 times 4 = 12
    14 minus 12 = 2
    So the answer is hole 2

    The maths answer was 2 because the thickness of the panels needed to be accounted for. Green is 7; orange is 4; and magenta is 1; however, the green was two panels wide making the green in the equation equal to 14. So double green minus triple magenta times orange is 14 - 3 x 4. In order of operations, 3 x 4 = 12, and 14 - 12 = 2. Ped is the luckiest sob in the Yogscast.
