One inspection every vehicle has is the frame shop. I think you might be surprised how much abuse certain frames can take.

Put a roll cage on it, beef up the suspension and go jump and 4x4 the crap out of it, nothing like having a truck you don't have to worry about on the trail and can beat the hell out of!
I did this to a chevy corsica once. if you have access to a car lift, wedge inbetween you can gain with just winches.. lock one side of vehicle with other pole, winch in the other direction.
hey TopLineRacer the reason the truck is shifting hard is because of the allison transmission is is programmed, to shift quickly since whistlindiesel was always full throttle. If you give her the beans it will feel normal. But after a week or so of driving soft with it the trans will shift easy.

When I was that young, we took a run at the cliff and see if it lands on it's wheels. Or for my money, take that body off and put a classic body on. We used a lincoln continental, like about 62 or 3 with suicide doors and nice options. Should be able to find a caddy body with the high fins to mount on frame of that junk truck, be wicked fast, take it to SEMA/LOL
I have seen tutorials on swinging golf clubs, baseball bats, etc. but do you have a video or lesson that shows the "proper" way to swing a sledgehammer. I want to learn.
You can end up hurting yourself doing it the way yall were doing it. And cant develope much power. You want to slide your hand from the head of hammer or axe down to your other hand holding it at the base. So tight handers usually hold the base with the left hand and the right hand holds near the head. As u lift it up let gravity work and the sliding of your right hand adds extra force. Generating a safer mire more powerful swings. Also saves energy.
What about making the cab and box as one, make a ute. Maybe with a phaeton top? Keep the lower parts of the doors functional. Need vent windows, looks to naked without them if you make a convertable. Car on top would be icky, maybe a recliner chair like Mr.Bean did with ropes to control driving.

Strip off the GMC body and set a 70's or late 60's full size Chevy Impala Wagon body, or a wood grained Vista Cruiser on the frame. You have the bones of a cool build assuming that frame isn't as twisted up as that body is.
I would go to the junk yard and see if they would sponsor a build with junk parts for advertising and rebuild her from the frame up. If the Goon Squad can do it you should be able to do it.
mostly just fix the "damages done prior to the accident, to restore the vehicle as "road worthy" by PA law" to ensure a rebuilt title (by PA inspector, there are like 2 across Appalachian's high country). Luckily PA considers anything above "multiple have died in this accident so get rid of their blood." and you can keep driving it, we don't care, its freakin PA. I wish I lived there for 2 stroke laws. but congrats on the video guys, I don't have the free time to do stuff like this anymore. This build is coming out damn awesome. keep up the good work.
Idk without feeling the shifts myself but every diesel I’ve rode in or drove with a built trans shift hard as hell especially 1-2. Hard enough it’ll put yourself head to the headrest but when it’s wide open it feel nearly as hard. Built trans feel better wide open
This truck is the opposite of my duramax, it started looking so nice at the guy who destroy these and ended well, like this. Mine started ugly and got super clean and nice lol
You need to take them front wheels off. Put all the dually wheels on the back of it put some regular rims and tires on the front and look better. And it'll handle better.

In these particular trucks, a bad or unplugged MAF will cause a jeep of issues, including crazy hard/weird transmission shifting.
