Hey, I was just wondering.. I heard that everytime you go out of the campus, you need to get approval from a warden/proctor and you need to fill out a form with a taxi number, time etc. And after you scan your id card at the main gate, your parents get an sms or something etc.. are all of these rules actually enforced? Is it just specifically for VIT, vellore?
And, in the case of ordering food.. is it possible to go to the main gate and collect it from there and then bring it back to our rooms inside our backpacks? Or do they do some bag check before entering our hostel block?

Are there rooms with attached bathrooms/handwashing sinks in chennai campus??
If not then how did you manage to cook food and wash utensils without anyone knowing about it??
There aren't guards present on your floor everytime. You can take them to the sink carefully. Also, in senior years, guards won't pay much attention.
I have got vit Chennai cat 2 cse core and my rank was 7k i had given in preference was cat 1 cse vellore then 2 then 3 and then Chennai 1 2 finally got Chennai cat 2 cse core what u suggest should I take it or not pls tell

I’m a student from bihar patna. Right now I'm in a very tragic situation because of carelessness of VIT college . I've given my VITEEE entrance test and got rank 12k. Thereafter, they alloted me VIT Chennai, where they offered me B.Tech - spl in AI and Robotics Programme category 2. After that I get admitted in vit by paying my first installment which is advance tuition fee that was 200000rs and the rest fee which is 107000rs need to pay in the second installment, but VIT didn’t gave any reminder or any warning and they cancelled my admission, giving the reason that you haven’t paid rest amount. But on the provisional letter they have clearly mentioned that I got admitted in the college for 2021-2022 session. They’re neither replying to my mail nor giving in written that my admission is canceled. I have no other options now. I get to know the day be

Chennai has Vibrance and it is great. It is not as grand as Vellore's fest though.

In ECE, you'll have to study your core subjects so you'll have to dedicate extra time everyday for coding if you want to get placed in a IT company. ECE students are eligible for 70% IT companies but you'll have to develop skills to get finally selected. Many of my ECE friends have been selected in superdream companies.
But also consider the other college you are talking about since you're getting CSE there.

It's through VIT's own entrance exam. For btech that is known as VITEEE and similarly you can find for other courses on the official website
Hey I heard that in vit girls and boys aren't allowed to talk to each other..I mean even if you do that, you won't be allowed to do it for a long amount of time like about (10-20 min)

Tell us about the kind of peer group we will get in vit chennai. Also has somebody scored more cgpa than Vellore topper in Chennai?
I never got a chance to look at Vellore topper's CGPA. There were people in Chennai, however, who maintained around 9.8 CGPA in all the four years.
Peer group is the same in both the places. Many top rankers will take Chennai campus because they would get it in lower categories.
Pls tell us about what all clubs like dance club, drama club, etc are there in vit chennai. Also what on campus thing one must explore and must participate in during first year??
All the clubs you mentioned are present and there are about 75 clubs in total.
Bhaiya, some doubts I have. With all due respect to everyone, how is the cse core faculty in Chennai compared to Vellore? Also I heard in Vellore, they have Hackathons, so will I get the same opportunities in Chennai to hone my skills?
Faculties are recruited through common recruitment process and eligibility criteria. Hackathons are conducted in Chennai also, don't worry.

I've heard that there is stricter rules for girl's dress code, like only wear kurti, and the sleeves should be atleast 3/4th.... Is it true?

Not compulsory I think but yes 99% of them do wear formals.
I got into Vit Chennai for the course Mtech integrated software Engineering at Category 1. Is it worth? I like to interact a lot with foreigners to improve my communication barriers and accent but International students prefer only VIT Vellore do you ever regret that you don't have the chance to meet any foreigners in Chennai campus? I do not know the numbers but ECE students are eligible in most of the superdream companies. In my telegram group also I have added my friend from ECE who was placed in a Superdream company.

You'll get 10-15 days holidays at year end. Also 1 or 2 days holidays for Diwali Holi etc

Don't need to inform parents if you come back by evening on the same day. If you want to stay the night out of the campus then your parents will have to permit.

All of these are celebrated although the magnitude of celebration won't be as high as in our native places since it's a college.

But i have to take loan for vit of 10 lakhs but i can manage CU without loan.....so is it worth going vit or should i choose cu?
I do not know much about Chandigarh University so it would be wrong for me to make any suggestions regarding that. Calculate the interest you'll have to pay on 10 lakhs and the number of years you'll have to pay that. Assume a salary of 50000 (you can get more if you're sincere) after passing out from VIT and see if you are comfortable with that. Also, research properly about Chandigarh University.

Nope, packaged food items can't be/aren't banned.
They just don't allow you to take restaurant orders to your rooms sometimes.

My college hostel had this weird rule that you had to have a form signed if you were going home from warden(if you're going on a holiday) from proctor (if you're going a workday). It was relaxed in later years. I used to forge proctor's sign.

Not in the campus but multiple saloons outside the campus
is it allowed for the student to sit in the library past midnight?
No, if I remember correctly, it was allowed until 11.30 PM.
