Q. Admissions, placements, ranking.
Ans. We DO NOT know any information about any of this, unfortunately.
Q. What are the options for a first year? in terms of their hostel rooms
Ans. You might get either F block(near SJT), A and B block(near SMV), or you have the option to choose G and H block(apartments/non-apartments, near CBMR)
Q. How does a Four bedroom room look?
Ans. Room tour in the video :)
How does a Six bedroom look?
Ans: The layout is same as 4 bedroom but there's more space.
Q. Are there diff buildings for AC and Non AC?
Ans. Yes B,D,E,E annex, F, G, H are AC blocks. Only C and A are Non-AC.
Q. How many bathrooms are there?
Ans: If you're living in A,B,C,D,E and F block, you have a common washroom. There will be around 10 bathrooms and 10 cubicles for showering.
For G and H i.e., apartment and non-apartments, 3 rooms share 1 washroom and that contains 3 bathrooms and 3 showering cubicles.
Q. Washing and ironing and stuff
Ans: There's laundry service available. It will be mentioned in your fee receipt. There is an iron available in every block if you want to iron your clothes by yourself and if not, there are people here who iron your clothes for a fixed rate.
Q. What’s allowed inside the hostel rooms
Ans. We can tell you what's not allowed. That' be easier :)
No kettles, iron boxes or any electronic devices. Only phone and laptop is allowed. If caught, they will confiscate your stuff.
You can bring literally anything but make sure that the item doesn't use extra electricity xD

Can I bring a foldable cloth stand?? Umm also inhaler not allowed?? Can we keep luggage bags in room cause wardrobe is shared right so wat if we wanna lock up some things
you could try bringing a cloth stand but also we're not sure how much space you would have. an inhaler is obviously okay to bring. and yes generally there will be enough space to keep your luggage in the rooms itself. but also, even though in some of the room types, the wardrobes are shared, you will still be able to lock your individual section so thats not gonna be an issue at all
Can dayscholars pay for swimming and avail it?
1.Is it compulsory for parents to stay back for Induction programme?
2.I'll be getting my laptop later,so till then would a tablet suffice?
1. generally the parents stay for induction but we don't think it's compulsory though

no you cannot. wifi is free and you can use it in the hostels. limits are not there but sometimes you can connect only one device at a time. there's also a timing kinda thing. wifi is switched off around 12:30 am.

There is no apartment type room available for first year they said. I am coming this august to vit. They said delixe room is available. Can u tell what are deluxe rooms.
never heard of those.. chances are they're same as the apartments...

girls aren't allowed to stay outside until your final year, unless your parents or local guardian is with you, in a certain radius around the campus

Hi I'm a PCB student VIT allows them to take admission in Btech CSE with specialisation in Bioinformatics can you please tell me about the placement and scope of this branch.
[as freshers] do you get to choose which hostel you go to, ie. if me and my friends (of the same gender) are doing different specializations under computer science, can we still end up in the same room if we choose to do so?
you can choose what kind of room you want subject to availability. you cannot choose your roommates first year but there is a chance that people from different branches end up in the same room.
On the fitness certificate its given vaccinate now for. Do we need to take the vaccinations?is it compulsory
we had to take the vaccinations unless we had any pre existing medical condition. you could also just come here and get vaccinated from the health center.

we didn't have to give the entrance, our course admissions were solely based off of our 12th grade marks

expenses are totally dependent on how much you eat from the mess lol. except food there are rarely any expenses in campus unless it's something academic. it's completely safe to keep your electronics in your room. you can also lock them in your cupboard if you'd like.
How's the bathing water ? Is it soft or hard water?
it's mostly hard water.
what is the difference between the apartment and non- apartment style rooms?
Apartments have an enclosed space shared between three set of rooms. Non apartments don’t have that. We had taken our room in the non apartments

generally ffcs is applicable for everyone but some courses with very less students don't have them is what we think

Yes there are many. One such shop you can find opposite to the gate no. 3
there are quite a lot outside. you can also ask seniors if you want.

we're not exactly sure but we don't think you have to because VITEEE subjects are pcm or pcb.

it depends on what course you wanna do. for btech you need to take the entrance exam. mark cutoff also depends on how everyone scores. generally, there's a certain number of seats available.

@@harnaazkaur5599 tbh I was very scared at the start and yeah it is kinda strict compared to other colleges but ones u find ur people it becomes like home . Plus over here u get so many opportunities and it being a lil strict really helps u be on track. My advice will be if u are coming here don't compare yourself with other college kids as they might be having fun now but by the end of the forth years it will be u with the bigger package 😉

hostels are pretty clean in general. they also clean the bathrooms multiple times a day so it all comes down to the people using them :)

if it's engineering 12th marks don't matter at all...
There is a minimum criteria of 60% or so (I don't remember exactly) in boards.. other than that no issues.
