I have a hell of a time trying to get it to connect. It works like, 65% of the time. If it isn’t working I’ll recalibrate the bike and then it tends to work so it seems like a peloton and not a gym kit thing.
Super annoying to spend so much on an Apple Watch and the more expensive Peloton largely for this purpose only to consider a HRM because it’s sitting to be met with tech issues first thing in the morning, so many mornings.

I got my Peloton in December and my Apple watch 6 worked right away. Now for about the last week, it does not connect. I've deleted the apps, reset the phone and watch, and recalibrated the bike. Still not working. I think it stopped after a phone and watch update. Any suggestions???
My Apple Watch was working really well with the peloton class. Now for some reason it will not connect to the bike is there anything I need to do to have this updated or where do I start between the two devices the bike and watch?
When I sync my Iwatch SE my Iwatch goes to the workout options it doesn’t pop up like yours does? Am I missing something?

Chris just curious if you do a workout like a bike bootcamp does it reflect as “other” or what type of workout does it say on your watch?
Is it possible to change what the workout reflects such as if you did a strength class and wanted to name it a different type of workout on your watch.

Would this connect same way with Apple watch series 2. Mine doesn’t come up on the screen! Is there any setting to be done on the watch apart of installing the peloton app? Mind doesn’t start by itself once I begin the class. Could you please kindly tell me also if I can use them without the phone... I am getting into too many devices at the same time and is not good for me. I am a simple old fashion woman :)))

I got a new Iphone 13 and now I cannot get the bike to talk to my apple watch. Never an issue before. I have checked the WORKOUT section to Detect Gym Equipment on Apple Watch App. I have unplugged and replugged cord into bike. I have also unplugged and replugged for a hard rest from wall. I have shut down and restarted my Iphone. I have tried to reset the Peloton to Apple Watch on the Peloton App. They still won't communicate with each other. Any ideas?

Iwatch 3 series & above. We tried the series 3 at the store and it worked.

hey Chris, when I hit "connect" on my apple watch, it just opens the workout app on the watch and doesn't say to start the bike. any tips?

After connecting the Apple Watch start a workout and after the 1 min intro when the class actually starts that’s when it will start sending you metrics to the bike+.
Which watch are you using? My series 6 won’t connect.
You need to check your settings on Apple Watch does work with the bike plus. I hope you manage to get it working 👍

@@arw788 Try updating it. I couldn't get mine to work for several days. Peloton offered no support saying as of now it doesn't support the series 6. When I spoke to Apple they said it should be the same as the five and it should work. And then the next day after speaking to them - it suddenly started working. Not sure why or how.
I have the series 1 and it connects to my bike+ randomly. But it only connects when it wants too
I have the bike + and the Apple Watch 5 and I noticed that sometimes it does not connect and would go straight to the workout app on my watch but not the pair logo. I would have to restart my Apple Watch to get it to work. So I hope they can fix this issue cause I would love for it to be consistent.

Can you do Apple Fitness classes on the Peloton Bike+? I presume no but thought I would ask!
You can. The peloton had a “free ride” mode that lets you do your own thing. You will need a iPad or iPhone holder for your bike.
@@electricchris Thanks for replying. In an ideal world it would have been nice if it was synced on screen but it’s a bit much to expect competitors to cooperate that much. It’s nice it has Apple Watch compatibility at least. We are expecting to get our bike on 5/18 and appreciate your videos that helped solidify the decision. Thanks!
Would the watch still works to monitor heart rate with peloton bike without your phone?

I must of missed Fray’s comment. You don’t need the phone with you when using Gymkit to connect the Apple Watche’s Heart rate monitor to the Peloton Bike+.

Hi Chris, Unfortunately my Apple Watch series 6 does not sync with my bike+. Holding the watch/tapping the screen next to the peloton logo at the top has no effect on my watch- no vibration, no message, nothing!
Try making sure “Detect Gym Equipment” is turned on with your Apple Watch.

@@raj0118patel restarting both the watch and bike works for me sometimes. And make sure you’re putting the watch screen over the logo rather than beside it!
@@ashcontube I have been having issues with this since we got our Bike+ on December 28. It worked flawlessly when pairing my Apple Watch 3 at the Peloton showroom a week before the Bike+ arrived. I've had a nightmare trying to work with Peloton "tech support" with multiple phone calls lasting over an hour each. I've had a replacement screen sent and the new screen is no different. I do NOT get the little bar at the top of the screen about connecting an Apple Watch or anything above the second start window. I go into developer mode and see that the NFC chipset is disabled by default. The Bike+ uses NFC to facilitate the handshake of communications between the Bike+ and the Watch. After I enable it from the developer menu, I then go to a class. Again, no little bar at the top of the screen, like seen in this video, appears. This time though, when I put my Watch up near the camera, my watch vibrates and shows that it is trying to make a connection. After about 30 seconds, it times out and says "Unable to Connect: A connection is not available with this equipment." This feature was, for me, a big selling point. I am getting extremely frustrated that this feature is not working and their "tech support" seems quite amateurish... actually less than amateurish because amateurs generally are motivated to figure things out. I've gotten to a point I need to rely on a professional and have yet to reach one.

Using gym kit to sync your heart rate with the peloton does not work on the original peloton bike. Just the bike+.
