- This week I break down how I landed on ENT (otolaryngology) as my specialty choice. I went back and forth a lot thinking about other specialties like Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Psychiatry. Picking your specialty can be a tough task especially if you are interested in a lot of different things, so I hope this can be a helpful framework of things to consider as you pick yours!

Fabulous video- interesting though process in terms of picking your speciality. Keep up the great work!
Excellent video. Incredibly useful as med student currently deciding between what specialties may suit you. This should be a lecture at med school that everyone receives. Bravo 👏

Really appreciate your support man!
I’m happy I found your channel! I’m an incoming M1 at the UMN med school. I’m also very interested in ENT! Thanks for the content
Hi Richard! Could you please make a video about your resume or how you prepared your application for ENT
Thanks for taking us through your thought process on picking your specialty.
Would you be willing to share your personal statement “why medicine” that you used in your AMCAS?
I’ll make a video at some point talking about how to craft excellent personal statements - key is to make them uniquely your own while addressing a few key components: (1) vision: why medicine, (2) experience: why you are a good fit, (3) institution: why this school
@@doctor-rich Great! Thank you
Sir how much student loans do you have and how much will you earn as a doctor? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
great video! could you talk about some of things you did that helped you match into ent? i’m also semi interested and don’t know where to start 😅
I didn’t even really know about it until 3rd year! Do a rotation, reach out to faculty to start forming mentoring relationships and research projects. Those two things are foundational
