Thanks for the thought and work you've put into these. I've got ADD and this helps me focus and be productive rather than constantly distracted. You've genuinely made my life calmer, happier and better. Thanks again.
For years now I have occasionally put this in the background; for reading, for work, for gaming, for sleep - probably for hundreds of hours in total. Thank you for creating this! Your 2048 version is great also. Amazing work.
2048 was the sequel to 'in the mood for love'. check it out. casta diva was a highlight. great soundtrack to 2048. 2049... whos counting? insomnia brought me here. counting electric sheep doesnt work
Over two years after this was released, and it's still my go-to for a relaxing, dreamy ambience. Thank you, Ryan, not to mention Ridley Scott and Vangelis!
I just woke up from 6 hours of solid sleep listening to Blade Runner 2049 Meditative Ambience with City Sounds - I don't believe I was awake more than 10 minutes before falling asleep!
@@georgehenderson7783 This track is still one of my favourites. If you can, read Ryan's notes about how he stretched the music and layered the sounds. It's fascinating.
Like another poster pointed out... what makes this so good is, its very subtle. Not so boombastic you can't sleep to it. Brief pauses to the background noises, so its not constantly throwing sound bit after sound bit at you which can be distracting. I LOVE THIS!
@@maninblack6575 it doesn't take a genius to figure out the premise of the movie, you moron. I'm just appreciative of the mental image Roy is describing.
I love how you used the "Rachel's Theme" track from the 1994 soundtrack release, slowed down. This was one of my favorite tracks from that version. It sets the tone for this so perfectly.
I have to tell you, even if you don't see this, your work here has helped me so much over the last couple years. It's very hard to sleep peacefully or even concentrate where I live right now. I'm moving soon but for the time being I seriously play this every day, at least twice while I'm either in bed or trying to write. You're honestly helping me stay sane with this particular video, thanks man! Merry Christmas!
I believe for many people it's half the nostalgia back towards the time the film was released. And half the fantasy of floating through this kind of dystopian world while being untethered to it, which creates this sort of interesting contrast that is inspiring to me. Also, the constant yet soft rain sound evokes the feeling of something greater than some of the mundane bickering that is going on in the background. I don't know, perhaps something along those lines.
@@holysecret2 I am a huge fan of Blade Runner since I watched it in 1982 and I've been listening to the original Vangelis soundtrack for many years now. I just discovered this incredible sound mix that takes us back deep into one key element that makes the movie such a masterpiece: the athmosphere, i.e. a unique blend of softness, darkness, dream, lightness, melancholy, hope, loneliness, ... But besides this effect, surprisingly, I found this track to be a good way to deal with my eco-anxiety, that is my fear of the collapse of human society due to the consequences of climate change, loss of biodiversity and all the catastrophies our current way of living is creating. This dystopian future is the context of the film and maybe that listening to theses sounds help me to face my fears and accept our fate. "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
I think for me is a way to romanticize the big city life. Like I can feel less lonely during a rainy day if I connect with the spiritual and existential aspect of the city landscape
I played this through my earphones whilst sleeping last night and had the most vivid dreams. Glided through a dystopian looking neon lit city exactly like that of Bladerunner's LA, it was quite spectacular and realistic. Great video!
Gary is quite right to ask Danny. If you combine a few of the current theories in Neuroscience about the electro-magnetic energy within the brain having transmutationational qualities (being more than one thing at a time as well as different places) which has given strong evidence that astral-projection may soon be quantified. So, who knows? My suggestion? Do what I do when I find myself in a similar dream-state. Look for specifics. Names of places, advertisers, even makes and models of vehicles you don’t recognize. My favorite is looking for dates. Any phony dream book will tell you that it is difficult for your mind to supply dates. This masterpiece reminds me of another one: "En Attendant Cousteau" from Jean-Michel Jarre. It's a 45 minute composition of subtle sounds but I programmed my cd player so it looped. I used to study on it, a few decades ago. I could "listen" to it day after day. It helped me focus by camouflaging disturbing noises. Just like this.
@Motorcycle Boy, thank you for your comment, I'd not previously heard of that particular JMJ creation and I dare say there's lots more to discover, i'll be searching it out. I have several of his albums on vinyl and still enjoy listening to them, the occasional crackle and 'tick' reminds me of my lost youth and sitting in a cramped apartment with mates just hanging out.
I found this just 48 hours ago and already done a dozen pages of creative writing to it and changed my computer backgrounds to a rotating collection of images of cyberpunk and future apartments and cityscapes
Your videos motivated me and (in some sense) gave me the sounds and ideas, to start writing short sci-fi stories, inspired by the current events and by some of the greatest works of Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Absolutely masterful mixing of sounds and music that creates such a unique and calming soundscape! I rarely comment, but this mix has helped me tremendously in so many areas, I just had to give credit where credit is due. Thank you, sincerely.
Brilliant! Thank you so so much for this. I like both versions.
Thank you so much, gonna listen to this when falling asleep today. Awesome work!
Close your eyes .... Relax..... Take a breath and exhale .....keep doing this untill your body is totally relaxed and fall gently asleep. This is my "go-to" track every single night... I suffer or should I say suffered from insomnia untill I found this !!! Truly amazing and thank you so much XXx
This is so good that even that i try, i can't stop listening to this!!!
That's all I ever wanted.
Fantastic ambient. Totally captures the mood. Perfect for work or chill. Just had to say thank you.
Your videos motivated me and (in some sense) gave me the sounds and ideas, to start writing short sci-fi stories, inspired by the current events and by some of the greatest works of Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke and, of course, Philip K. Dick. I listen to your music for relaxation and inspiration! Thank you!
This is truly awesome work. Thanks for providing the download links.
One of my primary definitions of beauty. Thank you.✨🙏🏻✨
I hope you will post of this type of ambient music, I love this one and keep posting

48 people did not make it to the off-world colonies.
74 now. They're breeding.
What is not to “like”? It makes no sense at all. That was not a Styx reference.
