I just noticed something. In RWBY It's the cat's nemesis that gives the blonde traumatic nightmares and brings the cat and the blonde together whereas in She-ra it's the Blonde's nemesis that gives the cat traumatic nightmares brings the blonde and the cat together.

What happened?
The moment Bumbly became canon, me and my SO literally popped a bottle of champagne and celebrated like it was new years
I once came across a description of love as not something that happens in the moment, but that is understood in retrospect. Blake's line "we're already falling" really hit that spot for me, of realizing there's nowhere else to be, nobody else to be with. Thanks for nailing the delivery, for adding to queer visibility and joy.

On the subject of Barbara commenting how odd it is for Yang to be the hesitant one in saying "I love you," I think there are some context clues in their conversation. When talking about what she loves about Blake, Yang mentions that she likes how Blake was never intimidated by her, even when they were just getting to know one another in the beginning. This tells me that Yang feels people see her as someone who comes on strong and find that off-putting for some reason and/or Yang feels her physical strength is something other people find intimidating. Either way, Yang feels like she has to be more guarded about opening up regarding any romantic feelings towards people for fear of possible rejection (perhaps she experienced such rejection earlier in her life before the start of the show), especially with her inner thought of standing at the edge of a cliff afraid of falling if she takes the leap. Moreover, when Blake is the first one to dive in and really share deep personal feelings of attraction towards Yang, Yang's facial expression is one of being taken aback and caught completely off guard because she's hearing something real for the first time in her life and is hesitant on how to react.
Blake, by contrast, has more experience "dating" (and I use this word rather loosely) based upon her past dealings with the likes of Adam and Sun. With Adam, there was infatuation in the beginning (based upon a lyric in the song "Nevermore"), but her own naivety and idealism blinded her to Adam's toxicity, and once she saw Adam for who he really was, she bolted. With Sun, she found someone she could be friends with and open up to before opening up to the rest of her team, and they do have other moments where Blake feels she can confide in Sun, but it doesn't progress further beyond friendship. With these past experiences to recall upon, Blake would then be able to see how her feelings towards Yang are so much more different than infatuation or friendship, that her feelings for Yang are deeper and more real, and seeing how real those feelings are, she is then more comfortable taking the first step to see where things go. If it hadn't been for the misstep in falling for Adam, or the missed connection she had with Sun, Blake may not have been as confident in opening up to Yang. Moreover, Blake's entire growth as a character was centered around her being more self-assured in general, so there's that to consider as well.
rejection by her mother (Raven) can also be a factor 😢
@@serendipity2770 I thought about that, but that falls more in Yang's abandonment issues (and why Blake running off at the end of Volume 3 was particularly painful for Yang). Abandonment involves having someone in your life be there and then leave, whereas rejection involves never being given a chance to form that connection in the first place. They're similar but distinct.
No matter who you are, that is a moment of extraordinary vulnerability. And, like she said: she’ll fall if she does it. It’s a real leap of faith. It’s also worth remembering that Blake felt she lost Yang twice now and knows full well that she means everything to her now. She thought she wasn’t anything more than a curse when Adam took Yang’s arm, and had her heart crushed into dust when she saw Yang fall. She couldn’t lie to herself anymore
To me it seemed like due to blake’s more introverted nature in the earlier seasons gave her time to figure herself out while Yang’s just along for the ride
Yang’s never really sat down and thought too much about herself so she’s not too sure if her feelings are true (also going back to what you said about their respective experiences)
To me, it seems like Yang is confident on the outside (her abilities and strength) while Blake is more sure of herself internally (her thoughts and feelings)
I think it's because of the abandonment thing. Just when Yang felt like she was connecting more deeply with Blake and she was opening up about her past, Blake left her life without a word. Imagine how much it would hurt if you risk your life for someone and become permanently crippled because of it and then find out while basically in the hospital that they skipped town and ditched you. Yang was crushed in multiple ways. Obviously she forgave Blake and moved forward but of course she would hesitate to put herself out there. Blake has grown and healed though so she was able to take that step .
i'd still love to see Lindsay, Kara, Arryn and Barbara do a lets play of RWBY grimm eclipse from start to finish as their characters, IN CHARACTER doing improv the whole time XD

Already watched this over on RT, but wanted to comment here. First, congrats to you both and everyone behind the scenes on reaching this beautiful moment with these two characters! The timing felt so perfect for this and it was executed masterfully all around. And second, Arryn I appreciate you speaking about your bisexual dating experience. I'm bi too and it's nice to know I'm not alone in the struggle. Your words are comforting in their comradery and I thank you for that.
The performances delivered by you two was absolutely amazing, having Bumbleby be something so formative in my queer identity throughout middle school, and seeing it happen now almost being done highschool, it is just too amazing and warms my lesbian heart 🐝🐝💛

Barb does such a great job as having open, honest, and frank conversations with people who are her friends or people she is gonna be friends with by the end of the episode.
I love how bubbly Arryn really is in real life whereas blake in rwby is like the opposite, its funny to see and hear blakes voice with such a fun personality😭
Finally! Been waiting forever for Yang and Blake to be canon. I love that Arryn and Barb admitted that they knew it would happen at some point (for all the haters). I admit, that at the beginning of the show, I wasn't really a Bumbleby shipper but I liked their chemistry as partners. But then after Volume 6, I became a Yang x Blake shipper and I did notice little hints in earlier volumes too, but at the time I saw it as a more platonic friendship. And to those who still say that "Monty wouldn't want this" there is an interview in 2014 or 2015 when someone asked if there were going to be queer characters in the show, and Monty said "Absolutely" and "maybe they're there now...because they're kids" and they're discovering themselves. But he didn't want to put them in right away and that it had to be earned. He did not outright say which characters, so I can't say for sure if Bumbleby was canon from the very beginning, but it was somewhat planned. Whether or not you think that Yang and Blake being canon is earned or not is your opinion and I respect that because there are canon ships in other shows that I watch that I don't really like, but that's just my opinion.
You both delivered incredible performances in the episode! It was handled so beautifully, and the confession/kissing scene has to go down as one of the best things Rooster Teeth has ever given the world. One of the best parts about Bumbleby all these years has been knowing that both the voice actors were the biggest fans of the ship, so it's truly wonderful to see you celebrating it together. 🐝
The bridge scene in this volume was done so well; especially the music! I think we were all desperately wanting to learn more about Jaune and what happened to him but in this scene I completely forgot about the rest of the characters.
I always felt that the scene Yang & Blake shared in the middle of Volume 2 (when Yang talks about trying to find Raven) was the precursor to where we are now!
I just have mad respect that you both knew for so long and couldn't really talk about it. I wouldn't have been able to hold such a thing a secret for so long. Congrats 🎉 on getting Bumbleby 🐝 cannon.
I have loved RWBY since about Volume 3. Honestly I didn’t start shipping Blake and Yang for years till Blake came back to the team! Now I can’t see them apart!

Yes, you both did this scene right. I started crying about the time your characters figured out how to make more planks on the bridge. And I lost it the second that your characters were together on the platform. As a natural Empath, I could "FEEL" everything. And the scene will be added to my favorites, and to things that make me cry. I can only say that yes, I have been waiting for this for a long time, and you both did not disappoint. Thank you. :)

This is going to be a long one
1) Arynn and Barbara you guy alway have me cackling.
2) When the bumbleby kiss happened I knew I would cry a little but I ended up sobbing. I had to pause and actually take a moment to calm down, which I know a lot of people would say that’s dramatic. But the reason this impacted me so much was as a shelter little teen who had know idea about sexuality the only thing I knew was what gay meant. And according to my parents it was a sin and very bad. Well I had just gotten into RWBY(around v2) and I wanted some cool fan art. That’s when I stumbled upon a Bumbledy drawing. That was the first time I’d ever seen two women kissing and it made me feel funny like that’s something I want. Now 9ish years later I am a 23 year old lesbian who is happy to see the thing that started my journey to find myself happen on screen. All I can do is say thank you RWBY, CRWBY, and you guys. Can’t wait to see what happens next with the bees.

I'm here because over the last 4 days I have watched every episode of RWBY and I need more. I'm so new to the RWBY hype that I didn't even know that Blake and Yang were a ship already lol. @@maisogyny Hey, I'm down for Bumbleby. Really, I genuinely am. But you can definitely tell it was an after thought. A Hug here, defending your friend, sharing your childhood with a comrade. Literally nothing for like 5 seasons, just a bunch of honestly normal ass shit that people LOVE stretching and reaching to make them fit. They weren't even on screen together for like 2 seasons and then suddenly they're falling in love with each other....? C'mon. Even in RWBY Chibi, They more lean towards Blake and Sun while Yang loves her Motorcycle. And RWBY chibi exaggerates things that are already there, They do Ren and Nora, Jaunne and Pyra, and of course Blake and Sun. Y'know what's not there? Blake and Yang being a thing. It's clear as day. This is the same thing that Legend of Korra. Korra and Asami barely had any screen time together in the last season that would hint at them becoming a couple. But it just happens because.... Well honestly I don't even think it's the writers fault. I blame that on Nickelodeon because they probably didn't have the balls yet to pull that thread. Which is why THANK GOD for the comics.
You can write me off as just some homophobic incel. But the fact of the matter is, I want Lesbian couples in shows. But I want them to be well written. Like Bubblegum and Marceline. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. Or Pink Diamond and uhh... I'm not a fan of Steven universe, What's the skinny Gem's name?.... PEARL! I had to sing the song in my head to get it. If they're not written well, It just feels like they're throwing a pity bone. And is that really what you want from them? To treat Lesbian couples like Tokens?

We brought back always open and I didn’t knowwwwwww. I watched all of the episodes from the beginning and was sad when it was I assumed disbanded. I’m so happy I found y’all again
I like how they pointed out how their roles are were reversed when it came to this confession, because they’re absolutely right and it’s the first thing I noticed. ☺️
It makes perfect sense the more you think about it. Yang being hesitant to get real about her feelings and hesitant to be vulnerable comes from years of watching the people she loves and especially the women she loves leaving her. It’s like she says in the scene about it being a cliff and having to jump. She jumped for Raven, and Raven didn’t catch her. She jumped for Summer and Summer couldn’t catch her. She’s terrified of falling again.
Blake on the other hand has always run away when things get really hard. She says so herself. But she’s always been one to follow her heart when she knows what she’s feeling is right. She knew going back to face her family was the right thing to do. She knew going to help at Haven was the right thing to do. And she KNOWS her feelings for Yang are right, and true. She’s not afraid of the fall. She’s been falling most of her life. Now she knows she’s not falling alone. 🥰💛💜

Good lord, I have waited a literal decade for the Bees to be together, and am so happy for this development. It was definitely worth the wait. I feel like my journey in college with coming to terms with being a wlw really coincided with pining for the growing relationship between these two characters, so they've always been really special to me that way. They've inspired me to do art when I've felt like I really couldn't due to depression or this and that. RWBY's always been a bit of a comfort show over the years. I'm thankful for all the work everyone puts into it. Also, little random, but I watched earlier seasons of Always Open as they came out and saw y'all at a convention in Portland god knows when, but y'all HAVEN'T AGED A DAY SINCE, holy shit. Cheers to being in our 30s!

Just wanted to say that i went to RTX last year and Barb and Arryn were two of the sweetest people i've ever met. Barb i ran into a couple times and went to her and Kerry's signing, and Arryn i ran into on the expo floor after the RWBY panel and I am definitely not great with people, nor did I want to push my way in to demand pictures from ANY RT cast, period, so I stood back while more people came up and talked to arryn, just waiting until she had a free moment that I could slide in, and she actually came to me and made sure that i wasn't being ignored or passed over. super sweet people and was so happy to meet them both

As someone who has been with RT since it’s beginning I’m now 32 this is so good to see. Thank y’all for Mentioning Legend of Korra cause they CRALWED so She-Ra and others could walk and Finally Bumblebee is walking with them. I loved this podcast it was awesome.

I loved the fact that Bumblby was a slow burn because that's the epitome of the gay experience. You either go on a couple dates and start dating, or you become friends and then the pining slowly starts and then it ramps up after an event or something, then bing-bam-boom you're in a relationship.
At least that's how me and my partner did it 😂
Yeah !!!! It feels so real and I love how they finally got together when they felt it was natural for them, to quote goldilocks, it's just right !!!
And the tremendous amount of care that went into that scene, I think this is one of the longest confession scene i ever saw animation/acting wise, it was beautiful, with fantastic music and the writing and animation made it so sincere (I'm still crying and can't help to rewatch that clip🥺🥺🥺💛💜💛💜💛💜
