I can't believe she's almost a year old! I've been watching Jameela since she was born. Freddie is such a calm, patient mom. I know she's getting old, but I hope she lives a long time. Thank you for all these videos, Larry. I've seen others try to do what you do (with the same gorilla troup) & I find yours more informative. People all around the world love your channel. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving and a joyful Christmas. ❤️🕎❤️✝️❤️ 🦃 ☃️🌟🎄✝️ 🌠 ❄️
Freddy’s doing well and the female gorilla 🦍 Fatu in Germany is 68 years old. There’s quite a few female gorilla’s that are well into their 50’s both in North America and Europe, even male gorilla’s with heart disease are living into they’d 50’s as well. It’s because their keeper’s, scientists, primatologist and Doctor’s along with the Gorilla Species Survival Program (aka: GSSP) are taking much better care and they’re constantly learning new ways to extend their year’s so they can also have happy and healthy live’s. I believe caring for Kayembe and Jameela has actually added many good years to Freddy’s life, it’s known that with human being’s staying busy and interested in art, traveling….etc adds years to our live’s also. Thanks 🙏🏽 Larry. Great Content As Always! 🙏🏽♥️🦍♥️🙏🏼
Does anyone else wish they could just pick up Jameela and Kunda to just cuddle them for a minute? 🥰 Kayembe also but he might be a little heavy now lol. All 3 kids are just adorable.
Kunda definitely prefers riding on the back instead of the belly. Much better view. It’s a joy to watch these precious little ones absorb life and learn how to be gorillas.
Thanks for the post Larry. Just recently at the Louisville Zoo a baby Low Land Gorilla arrived. His name is Abeo ,his new mothers name is Kweli ,she also has a three year old adopted daughter named Kindi. Very similar circumstances. Thanks again.
I am so proud of baby Jammy, getting bigger, stronger and skilled by the day👏👍🤩especially when she's challenging the biggest bananaplant shoot ever existed😄🤭😍proud also of her sweet stepsissy Kunda who's exploring her regained freedom💪👏👍🤩my heart goes out toTusa though..she seems so lonely as a loner😥🥰❤🌞🌻
Good girl! You pulled out the lettuce. 🥬 Now you’re playing tug of war with the banana leaf. 🍃 Both girls are great climbers! Thanks Larry! I’m loving this evening delight. 🥰❤️❤️
Oh wow, never been asked that. Usually concerned with outdoor temps (60 F or above and dry). I’ll have to ask if it’s heated more than for human comfort next time Im there.
I love that Kunda is climbing on Kebi's back instead of letting her mother insist on the belly cling. If I had pom-poms I'd be shaking them and jumping up and down. YAY KUNDA!!!!
That was wonderful, Larry! Thank you.🙏 🤩 Everybody sure loves those banana leaves and stems. Even Kunda was enjoying it, and she doesn’t seem to be a big eater, from what I’ve seen here. It was so cute to see Jameela chomping into those stalks that were bigger than she is. She’s so busy and active these days - she’s reached that toddler age where she’s into absolutely everything. And what a clever girl to figure out how the food basket works - although it made a great swing as well.😂 Thanks again for a lovely start to my Saturday morning! 👏🙏🤩
@vjc2270 Jameela figuring out the food basket reminded me of me figuring out how to make coffee this morning. There was some trial and error. Some days I need coffee to be able to make coffee.
It's pure joy watching these two baby girls. Nice to see Kunda breaking away from mum a bit and Jameela is glorious, she has the best mum ever. What is Tusa's story ? Is she related to others in this troop ? Thank you Larry, watching the gorillas is the best tonic on these dark, windy winter nights. 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Tusa is not related to any in this troop. Check out the playlist listed at the end of this video. - on the right- Meet Cleveland Gorillas - pick the gorilla you want to learn more about. 👍
Larry will tell you more, but Tusa was mostly around humans the first part of her life. I think about her a lot and wish she was a happier gorilla, too. ❤

It’s interesting watching these two infants grow and progress. Interesting to see them really taking an interest in food. They are running wild, lol. Jameela is so strong and doing well. So cute together. N’neka WAS shopping. Made her selection and off she went. 😂😂😂

@stevemorris6790 Hi, there are a couple options for Kunda t-shirts. Go to the link in my description or TeePublic’s.com and search Larry’s animal safari to see merchandise.
N'neka was getting quite an armload of food, wasn't she?🤭🤭 It's interesting to see that they don't all congregate in one room like some of the other gorillas do, like Japan for instance. And the 2 little ones are all over the place😊😊😊. Great video, thanks for letting us see how the rooms interconnect.
Just been reading about Tusa and Kayembe's Mum (Nneke?). Lots of emotions with these two ladies. Does Cleveland have anything Tusa can utilise in regards to her painting? Think she would benefit. I'm not a gorilla expert, just asking. Not my intention to offend. Thank you Larry.
I have thought the same thing. I mean if Mokolo shows no interest in her, it would be nice for her to have something like the painting she did. She is the loneliest girl and my heart hurts for her.
@@jeps1973Me too. Maybe if she was given art supplies it would take too much time for the keepers to supervise? Probably everyone would have to get art supplies to prevent jealousy. Surely a college student would love to supervise gorilla art time?
Different zoos have different management. This one would like to limit human interactions. Would like to keep the wild animals wild as much as possible. That’s not my policy, it’s the zoo policy.
Yes, Cleveland has an outdoor area for the gorillas. They may go out there if the temperature is close to 60 degrees Fahrenheit and dry. Thanks for the question.
Respect! N’Neka and Tusa can’t stop making eyes at Mokolo, they might be in heat, but they also maybe on birth control. Like humans they still go through all the emotions and physical parts but the eggs don’t pass. We don’t know who’s on birth control or not, they keep that a secret but until the “Rain Forest” gets completed, I doubt we’ll see another baby gorilla born. Once the “Rain Forest” is completed then there’ll be any more baby gorilla’s 🦍 to watch and observe. I can’t wait to see everything they’ve designed and all we’ll get to see regarding trading, it’s going to be soo exciting. Thanks 🙏🏼 for more great content Larry, great work as always.
Respect. And in regards to "in heat", just to clarify. Gorillas don't go into heat like a dog would. Gorillas are like humans and cycle around every 28 days. They could get pregnant in any month, if they are Not on birth control. Generally, gorillas in the U.S. are on birth control. The Gorilla SSP in conjunction with the Assoc. of Zoos and Aquarium staff decide who and when gorillas will be removed from birth control to encourage offspring.
@@larrysanimalsafari I’ve tried to explain it myself that they’re more like human being’s but I think your explanation is more understandable than mine. I had to actually speak with a friend of mine that’s a primatologist with year’s of experience and now I understand it. It’s just hard to explain in just a comment but I completely believe you did a great job explaining the process, much better than I ever did. I don’t like when some think one female is always (lonely) because I don’t see it that way. We don’t know some of the full history on her as well, not like the keeper’s and scientists do.
No physical contact, just participates in the training sessions with a keeper. See an example of training session/feeding time in video th-cam.com/video/ucDVwCH06gY/w-d-xo.html. She participates each day in the training/getting a bottle each day. She does get 3 bottles each day right now.
@@larrysanimalsafari Still a little to small for MaNa’s liking, maybe in another six months. MaMa’s are always slower and more cautious when it’s a baby girl.
