Duncombe Park Steam Rally 2023

The 60th Anniversary of the Great Yorkshire traction engine club was held again at Duncombe Park in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. And this was my first ever visit to the Rally Field to see what goes on.
Various Steam engines from Rollers to Road Locos race round the ring like "Peter Pan" or Compete in tug of war against the stewards like "scamp" the newly built steam tractor.
I finally got to meet ‪@doubleboost‬ who was filming the Steam engine parade in the ring, then later bumped into ‪@snowballengineering‬ watching Burrell traction engine "Maori" towing Fowler converted Road roller turned Locco "Peter Pan" & "Lady Olivia" Allchin Traction engine around the ring for the Heavy Haulage display. The Program itself had some new and old photos my favourite being being x2 Mccormick bwd6 & Fordson majors towing off against an engine in the ring, another is of "surprise", " Old Glory", Black Bess" & "Mary" outside of the black swan Pickering and is taken roughly around the very first Pickering Traction engine rally which was derby back then to raise money to pay off the mortgauge on the bowling green. more on that in the link below.
