Thanks for saying that. I have 100 chickens every time I lose one I feel terrible guilt until I lose another one, and the guilt continues with every loss. Theyre 6-7 years old it never gets easier but I try to remember I did everything I could to give them a good life
Your the best chicken Mom and I want to thank you for all your heart filled hard work you do to help them & to help others with their feathery family, so thank you! Some advice...you need to find that in GOD(There is only One true & living God, if you don't believe this just humbly ask Him yourself) bc you will NEVER lose Him. He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. True peace, redemption & salvation is Only found in Yeshua Jesus Christ The Messiah. I found it and I pray you find it too 🙏💖
Thank you for this heartfelt video, I recently lost my old rescue hen Holly (she recovered from illness several times and was blind) they hide illness so well and it just doesn't get any easier to lose a pet. Your words are wise, you gave them their best life, even if only for a short while. Hug a chicken and you'll feel better (maybe a little itchy with red mite!) 🐔👍
I'm sorry when we have to go through this. I'm sorry that you lost a couple of your chickens. I am inspired by you and have the greatest admiration. You're doing these chickens a great justice! ✌️❤️
Your the best chicken moma, you do the best in whatever situation your in & for your babies. I also love my ckns & do what I can to help them when sick. I pray then give natural remedies & also use your recipie of Egg & mix Oregano oil, vet Rx, drop. It hurts much when we loose any. These are our pets, besides for eggs. God bless you for rescuing many. 🥰🐔I live near Seattle, WA
I've been fighting a mysterious sickness this year myself. I bought chicks from a hatchery, 13 LF Cochin, (3 are left), 8 silkies (4 are left). They starting dying at about 2 to 3 months old. It has been devastating, none of the chicks I hatched this year in the same pen, have died and remain extremely healthy. I was a Vet tech for 15 years and this has been so frustrating. We don't have a Vet that treats fowl in the area. Whatever it is seems to have finally slacked off, but I literally think I have PTSD. At 72, the chickens give me a reason to get up in the morning.
My favorite hen died suddenly and it broke my heart. She'd follow me all over the yard and talk to me. I live in the same area as you so good shelter and yard was a must. I've raised birds for many years and I was never hit so hard as I was when she left me, I still don't know why she died. I say " I'll never get attached to another" but then there comes that one that pecks at my heart strings...again. Love what you're doing, it's worth it.
You saying that your family doesn’t know a lot of the life you’ve lived really resonated with me. Taking care of my pets (dogs, cats and chickens) brings me a sense of calm and peace that I don’t have elsewhere. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this and please know that there are so many people sending you and your chickens positive, healthy, healing vibes ❤️
I just cried so hard when you were talking about the chickens living their best life before it's over. I have to put my dog down this week and that got me. I wish all of our babies could live longer. ❤️
I've lost almost all the girls I started with 4 years ago. Three from illness, 4 from a dog that got into my yard when I didn't lock the side gate properly. I still feel bad every time I think of them. When you said it's about the experience they had while living, it made me feel a lot better. Thank you.
@@meoff7602 Yes. I actually have a very difficult time letting go of any of my pets and I think of them every day. The saving grace is treating them as we should while they are with us, to the best of our abilities.
@@chickentender4037 Yeah I miss my Roo Roo. He died at the end of winter. It was rough. I have sense tripled the size of their caged run and I let em around the yard for at four hours a day. I wish could just let them run out of run all day, but the predator population is crazy thick.
I am raising my first six, in town, backyard hens. I am 57 and live alone, so they are my friends, pets and source of comedy, so I totally understand your devastation! I love and appreciate your channel! Just keep going! :)
You inspired me to get 10 baby chicks in the spring. Loving the babies. Hubby just finished the Big chicken run, Girls are so happy now….freedom! Thank you so much for showing me the beauty, enjoyment and love that chicks can give us. Thanks again ♥️
You are such a precious, inspiring treasure! I want you to remember all of the little creatures that you have brought back from the brink of disaster and the beautiful life that you have provided them. Even if that beautiful life only lasted for a short while it was worth the love that you poured into them. You have inspired me to be brave enough to bring home some sick babies from the feed store myself and try to nurse them back to health. Sometimes they don't make it but I know they were loved and cared for in their last hours. Keep on doing what you do...your love has a ripple effect that is spreading across the entire world!
I know exactly how you feel. When my chickens are sick I cry like a baby I can't function because for some reason what they feel I'm feeling. My husband told me the other day you have forgotten about your house and your family due to taking care of the chickens all the time. I can't help it they made me happy.👍❤
Ok, but your human family is more important. Listen to your husband, his needs are more important than your chickens. I love my chickens, too, but my husband’s needs are more important. I might need to give my chickens up because of my husband’s needs.
I’m so sorry this happened. I didn’t think I would become so attached to our chickens but here I am. My husband and I sit out with them in the coop every single day. They give us much more than we give them. I worry about them just like I do with our cats and dogs… our chickens are our family and yes I’ve become the crazy chicken lady! Thank you for all your videos and advice, I try to watch as many as I can every day. 💜
@@tommielourogers4327 right? I’ve always heard they are dumb and scared of people but I find that’s not the truth at all. Our girls are very interested in everything we do and they are super loving. They like to sit in our laps and fall asleep, they perch on our shoulders and a few literally run up to us when they see us (just like a dog!) I think the only frustrating thing is when one isn’t doing well, we don’t have a local vet for livestock and so channels like this save the day for me.
This was wonderful to hear. Thank you! I am so sorry for your losses. You really frame it well. I too lost a beautiful young white rooster recently, reason unknown.... he woke up ill and died within the hour. So, I buried him in a 15 gallon nursery pot in my garden and planted wild flower seeds on top. They are sprouting and I can still 'speak' to him every day. I love your channel and all that you bring to our chicken loving TH-cam family.
I am absolutely in love with my birds and I am crushed when I loose one . I am a nurse and I can't wait every day to go home and see my animals and care for them .
I work at a hospital and I'm the same, I can't wait to get home and see my chicken...at the moment I only have our disabled indoor chicken. She's out rn since weather is nice. She brings me so much joy. And I tell my daughter (who literally kept her with her 24 hrs a day when she was a chick dealing with wry neck, unable to walk or to eat or drink on her own. I had to chicken sit so she could shower) it's good that we ended up with her bc anyone else might have put her down during one of her 2 episodes of wry neck. But she has a good life with us. She's not spoiled! At all (so I keep saying)! And I worry about her when I'm gone, if she's too hot, too cold...
Wife and I sit in the coop and chat with our chickens. I find it silly but so calming. There is alway that one chicken that just goes along with it. Some folks have cats we have chickens.. Buck Buck ✌️
Lol yes I do the same. I really enjoy sitting in the coop with them when it’s raining. Me and my 12 chickens have nice conversations especially on rainy days. What can I say lol my chickens are my best friends 😊
I loved this video. It brought tears to my eyes because I related to it so much. I lost several flock members throughout my 2 short years of raising chickens. There were very brief illnesses, sudden deaths and even a stroke of one hen. I nursed a young Silkie who was bullied and didn’t get to eat & drink and developed Wry Neck. It was most likely due to malnutrition and vitamin deficiency. She came to live inside, be hand fed, given vitamins and held a lot so I could support her neck and head as much as possible. It took 8 weeks but when she returned to the flock, I had a new house and run for just Silkies& Bantam Cochins. I thought she would love me forever but she runs from me now, is a feisty, strong hen and in my FB circle Buffy is infamous! I was still new at chicken keeping but was determined to give her every chance and we made it! Buffy and I. 😊
Girl stop making me cry!!!! I seriously love you! I think most of us do and most of us don't judge. You are an amazing human and I strive to be just as amazing! You are so genuine and that's very important in life!
I paused this video at 2:49, before I ever knew what happened, so I could tell you… I am SO VERY GRATEFUL for transparency & HONESTY regarding mistakes made. In sharing mistakes (or “accidents”), we provide a profound gift of knowledge. Learning what NOT to do is even more valuable than knowing exactly WHAT to do. Much LOVE, LIGHT & RESPECT to you. ❤️
I was going to say! you have to accept that some are more delicate than others, and just enjoy each day with them and accept some will live for years, so far we have had one died at 10 months old, its was heart wrenching to the extent I said right thats it no more i cant take it...........then realised I cant live with out any, now i have four, I know it will be heart wrenching when i lose another but shit happens its life, we have choices! just chill chick 😘🐔🐓🐣🐥
Hi, I have been watching your channel for a good while, I just love how you give instructions and your overall love for your babies. I got my first chickens 2 years ago, and I have loss 3 of them. I cried and felt like such a bad chicken mama. I love my babies so much! I will tell you how much, lol, yesterday evening I go to the coop to check on them and call them into their run. I left their chicken coop door open so they could get to their water, I closed the door and got them in the run. Open door to get the eggs, and I see what looked like a black hose hanging from one of the nest with Mattie sitting in the nest. Well, it was not a hose, it was a huge chicken snake, and I am deadly afraid of any snake. I grabbed a long limb and tried to flip it out of the nest, thankfully Mattie fussed and got out of the nest. I did manage to get the limb under the snake and flip it out of nest. It stopped along the wall so I had to tap it on the tail to get it moving. it left!!! I am still freaked out, however, the love for my babies overcame the fear of the snake. You inspire me so much, so keep doing what you do!!
As always, hearing your voice and words gives me hope and strength, not only in my backyard, but in the world in general. Recently my speckled sussex was suffering. No matter how much I researched, I couldn't find the correct diagnosis. We don't have a vet that will see chickens. The closest one is over 100 miles. Like you, the morning I thought I would find that she had died, she instead had turned a corner and mysteriously got better. I love this chicken. She, too, started life with difficulties. I've now "saved" her three times in 2 years. As a chick with coccidiosis, last fall with a severely impacted crop, and this month with who knows what. I used all the tools you have given me and I believe that it why she is still here. I knew nothing about chicken keeping when I started in spring 2020. I'm so grateful that I found you right away! Thanks for sharing and caring .... in all ways.
I just want to give you a hug! Thanks for being so vulnerable with us and sharing the reality of chicken keeping. I always turn to your channel when I have questions or need some encouragement.
I thought of you last night while going to sleep as one of my girls is under the weather and in "hospital". I wondered how you would handle things and said a prayer of thanks for finding you and your channel. 🙏 Thanks for sharing your story and your strength Mrs. President. Healing and wellness vibes going out to you and all the hens in need of it.
You are such an inspiration to so many; including my 10yo daughter and me. This is a beautiful video. You have given so many sweet (and grumpy) little birds a wonderful life as they have done for you. Thank you for sharing your talents and teaching us. Very very sorry for your loss.
Mid spring my birds started dying. About one a week. I couldn't figure out what was going on. They weren't outwardly sick, but upon examining them their necks seemed wrong somehow. I assumed then that it must be predation, maybe cats, although they weren't taking the bodies with them. When I lost one of my chicks and one of my ducks in the same week I broke down crying outside. A kid next door came over to the fence that separates our properties and admitted her grandma had been rewarding them for throwing rocks at our birds. Their grandma has this absolutely bonkers hate boner for us because she believes she owns our driveway because "her dad won it in a poker match in the 70's". I am not talented enough to make something that ridiculous up. We've had to have numerous injunctions against this psycho for trying to build in our driveway. She still tries at least twice a year to pull some sort of nonsense. The kicker? She doesn't even live there! So, we moved out entire coop to another section of our yard and they've been fine now despite the heat out here. The bottom line is, some people are nuts, and they're going to be nuts all over you regardless of what you do. Ignore them and move on.
I have learned so much from watching your channel! You are my inspiration! So relieved to hear that Bagel is still fighting.. I type this through tears.. your heartfelt video touched me deeply!
It’s so heartbreaking when something happens to them. I have a special needs chicken that ended up with a huge gash under where her crop is. I could see her insides. It’s been a month of struggle but I no longer think she is going to die from it. She is doing so well and almost completely healed. I love your videos and I’m glad she is doing well.
I'm so sorry. Things happen even if everything is done right. I can hear in your voice how much you care for your flock, even beyond giving them the best life they could live. Take care.💚
I completely understand how you feel. I get so attached to my chickens and when I lost one of them last week I cried like a baby. On the other hand my chickens are truly a joy while I have them here with me. Chickens are lots of fun.
You’re so young! I get it!, our chickens are our meditation too. We love your show and your growth has been tremendous, your chickens are sweet! I am so sorry that you have experienced loss…. It def happens. But losing your favorite chickens… that is so hard! You are a great chicken mom!! Thanks for all you do!
Thank you for this reminder. I literally teared up when you started talking about the end of our chicken's life, and I'm not prone to crying. I am a developing homesteader, and have poultry for meat and eggs, and I get really attached to my animals. It's hard but I always strive to give my animals the best life, and then in return I get great eggs and good quality meat. Their companionship has also helped me through a lot of hard times and given me sanctuary from the modern world and drama. So I will continue on. Thank you, and long live Chickenlandia!
Thank you for sharing your story today !! As I am listening to your video and hearing talk about your sick chicken . I totally understand the feeling when you are with your flock .. I have chickens for the past 3 \12 years after moving to a small farm they have brought me so much joy and peace when I needed the most . I lost my mother due to COVID on 2020 and they become my therapy to help me with my grieving of loosing my mom .when I am with them I feel my mom is with helping me caring for them . I have a a small flock of 14 they all have names and there’s my favorite girl Silvia who’s the moment I meet her we have these connection , I called my special needs chicken she survived a raccoon attack and half of her head is hairless and she has these looks of a brave warrior!! Silvia been sick on and off for the last 4 months taking her to the vet few times treating with medication and natural remedies but still doesn’t get completely cure . But she still thrives and eats like every day is going to be her last meal !!! Today when o got home from work I notice is back again ;( her sour crop issues with at these point I am sure she has some more gastrointestinal issues . I took her inside the house give give wash her face and wigs with a wet washcloth and I can tell she was enjoying it ;)- I have her fresh water and her medication which I have a full bottle from the vet cause these issues keep happening on and off. I wrap her on a towel and I hold her close to me and jst start crying cause I realize one of those times that I am treating her it may not go away and I may loose her … jst the thought of loosing her it was like I was loosing my mother again …. Life is hard but like you said these chicken got the best time of her life since I meet her and she brought me so much peace and joy at the same time .. I enjoy watching your videos and have learn a lot from it . I believe my mother is also helping me watch over them. Can’t wait to read your book 🥰love chickens love Chickenlandia !! Thank you
Your words really hit me. I love my chickens and ducks I tell them every night that I love them and I thank them for their eggs. You are doing a great job, educating people isn't easy. Sorry you went through this, people who judge it says more about them! Times like you are going through are the times for kindness and support! Sending positive, healing energy
I've been keeping a small backyard chicken flock as well since 2020. I love each and everyone of my girls... Three have passed and l miss each one terribly. But your absolutely right...l gave them the best life possible. I am dealing with one particular chicken now who has been sickly for almost her whole short 2 year life. But l love her. And yes people can be cruel without really understanding. That's ok..my chikens love me. They run to me each day just to greet me. 💞 And maybe hoping mom's got treats. You are a very special person. And l thank you and love you...please be gentle with yourself..friend.🐓🐤🐥🐣🐔💛💙💜💚❤
@@WelcometoChickenlandia Many times I've watched your videos looking for advice about an issue. So thank you again for your sharing knowledge about our chickens. BTW...my sickly looking ISA brown has been missing ALOT of feathers very dry pale comb. What do you think. She eats and otherwise seems ok. She just looks ..shhhh. Unhealthy..lol
Bless your heart. I know what you mean when you said those words I wrote... Take your TIME and HEAL your heart. It's never easy to lose a sweet loved flock member. I have had many Parrots over the years and it hurts every single time. I now have chickens and I'm sure it's not going to change accept these are young ones at the moment and I am new to it all. YOU teach us and please FEEL free to accept these words "WE LOVE YOU for ALL YOU SHOW US AND YOUR TRIALS that HAPPEN to you and your FAMILY FLOCK". Love, a Michigan mama. :)
Wow, you moved me today with your honesty. They are not just chickens- we love them that much that we do get emotional over them. I understand your story because I went through something similar where either I didn’t realize smthg was wrong, until it was too late, and one very young hen passed away or I had serious medical issues in my family that it caused me to be distracted. In total, I lost two chickens and one turkey and one alpaca within weeks. In the end, I realized, just like you, that I knew in my heart ❤️ that I gave them the best life possible. Most animals I have are rescued and giving them the best life and love is important. I know you love your chickens and I have learned so much from you. I 💯% support you and am thankful to people like you who truly love and care the deepest.
Aww I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my favorite girl Tikki a month ago and it was so hard because no one around me understood how much she meant to me. Keeping chickens has introduced me to gardening and outdoor life I never used to enjoy. Please know that your videos are inspiring and I relate to alot of what you shared about the importance and benefits of chicken Keeping. Your words from your book about how we have effectively given our chickens a better quality of life, resonate well with me and are very consoling to me because I know that I did the best I could to make Tikki happy, comfortable and loved every day. ❤️ thank you for your heartfelt videos ❤️
That sounds so stressful. I'm glad things seemed to have turned a corner for your gang. I feel like you're the only person I've 'met' who feels as passionately about chickens as I do. And yes, I often feel like Elliott and E.T. with some weird psychic connection. I have a couple of ladies who will sit on my lap and 'vacuum' the stress out of me. They are magical! 💖💖💖
I think this is the best, most touching video I've ever watch on you tube. The day I brought home two little day old baby chick's, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. I now have 8 hens, and 20 eggs in the incubator. My daughter and her young children got involved with my chicken obsession and now, because they can have roosters, we have a whole sustainable chicken farm. My 73 year old mother was gifted 3 beautiful laying hens after she saw what my daughter and I were doing. My mom now supplies home grown eggs to my younger sister. When my sister and her husband experienced the joy and nutrition the eggs brought, they helped my mom build a bigger coop and they plan to expand their flock before it snows. Raising chickens comes with ups and downs, and we love it! Chicken therapy is a real successful intervention to many things that plague our modern existence. We have all of this, and it brought joy and friendship beyond anything I imagined because I first watched a video from a lady, who told me a story, about a little girl wanting to make the world a better place, and how when she grew up, she became the president of Chickenlandia, and how chickens bring people together. I can't wait for your book. Thank you for everything!
So sorry for your loss. & thank you for your insight. We have 15 young birds & one very old lady who is the last of a small rescue flock from a neighbor who had to be in hospital & could no longer have them. They were old & sweet & very loved & at the time we had no other chickens . We had them for 4 or so years before their age began to show & we gradually lost our old girls. Gert is our last one & she has her very own space to play & run around & she comes in to sleep in her own little indoor coop each night. The young ones have there own coop & run outdoors & are Lavender Orpington, Buff Orpington & Partridge Ricks. They have been loved & handled gently since they were tiny chicks & you couldn’t ask for sweete girls & rooster. We live on a small farm & they are intended as layers & members of our pet family. We love them. I understand totally about loosing our loved ones. Animal or human , loosing one is sad ..
I’m so so sorry that this has happened to you! I know it’s difficult to lose one of your flock. I know you do what’s best for them and you give them a good and happy life. Thanks for sharing this and for all you do!
Dang girl your my inspiration! Your the reason I don’t feel like a crazy lady who loves her chickens and wants to go check on them in the middle of the night.😉❤️
Big hugs to you and all your beloved chickens. One day at a time. Thank you for being so open and honest. Yup. Tis life. We do our best for our beloved birds.
You are the reason I have chickens ❤️ I wanted them but was afraid because I wasn't sure what to do with them once I brought them home. I watched all your videos, some more than once. I finally did it and I'm so glad I did! I started with 4 and lost one to the neighbor's dog. Right now my 3 ladies Dolly (my favorite), Rocket and Nugget have coccidiosis. Rocket and Nugget are doing better but now Dolly is egg bound and having a hard time passing the egg. I'm trying everything but no luck so far. I'm having a hard time leaving her at night and when I go to work. I feel better now knowing that yes she might only be a few months old but she has a better life than other chickens do! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for this episode. I could see how hard it was to make. You have shown that even the best chicken keepers, and you're one of the best, can have health issues visit their flock. I'm so sorry you lost a few. But I am so glad to see little Bagel on the mend. Thank you so much for allowing us into your wonderful world of chickens.
Im ALWAYS inspired by you. Your place is lovely and peaceful. I love watching you, you're a kind person in a sometimes harsh world. Most of time things go smoothly in my flock, sometimes they dont. Its just part of it. Sometimes we just want someone to listen and DO NOT want advice. Hopefully people will respect that❤
I've been hesitant to get silkies again, I lost my entire flock all at once, went out to feed and all 12 were dead. I never knew what happened no sign of anything!!! that was 15 years ago. took me 5 years to get over that and get more regular chickens. Have had all kinds of chickens for 10 yrs now and have kiddos now too. They would love some silkies, looking at yours I may just do it!
Thank you for telling us your struggle and reminding yourself and us that the chickens were happier with us because we cared and did our best to give them good lives! I can feel your tight anxiety of fear over the health of your sweet chickens, I've been there, only had chickens for 5 months but I've dealt with loss and sick chickens and have felt that worry. You are wonderful, thank you for this video. ❤
As a chicken keeper of 21 years, I had to learn that chickens aren't always the hardiest of creatures and it is indeed about the quality of life they have while they are with us. I have had them not make it out of the brooder while others live to be 10 or 11 years old. Who knows why? I have had them get sick and I saved them and I have had them get sick and nothing I did helped. I have also gone out and found chickens dead that seemed perfectly fine the day before. I have had to learn to just do the best I can and some times things happen despite our best efforts. It's nature and we can't always control her. My girls have a safe, secure, well ventilated coop. They have a covered run , with shade cloth and fans in the summer and enclosed with plastic in the winter. They are never left out in the elements nor locked up in their coop. They have plenty of food to eat, fresh water, lots of nest boxes and room to scratch and peck and dust bathe. I wish I had a huge property to let them free range on, but I do the best I can with what I have and they have it pretty good all things considered. They also have my time, attention, love and care. I see to their every need every day. I feed them before I feed myself even. So yes, it is hard when things go wrong, but we cannot beat ourselves up about it. Just do the best you can each day and know your chickens had a good life with. you.
Hey, don’t worry Madame President. Real life happens and it is not our fault. Your love for your animals comes through. You are very precious to the chicken world, hang in there. We are here with you. 💕
Thank you for being so open and vulnerable. You have a great heart and I have no questions that you absolutely love your chickens more than anything! 🤍
You are a wonderful, kind, beautiful person. Thank you for sharing a story about “the tough stuff.” Thank you for all that you do to help the rest of us raise a successful flock. I can’t wait for your book to come out!
Oh I'm so sorry Dalia. But thank you for being honest and transparent even when it's ugly. Man, those birds were so lucky to be part of your flock as we all know you gave it you all for them as always. I can't wait for your book!
Thank you for posting this. I’m really hurting tonight over the loss of my 10 week old, Mae, last week and your words help to remind me of some of those important points. I had no idea it would hurt this bad to lose a chicken. It’s worth it to have them, but wow does it ache. 😢
Madame President, don't feel bad about yourself. You are an awesome inspiration to all of us backyard chicken keepers. When I have a chicken problem, YOU are my source for kind, loving, solid information. I appreciate all the education you bring to all of us. Thank you and God Bless Chickenlandia! P.S. I am glad Bagel is better.
I’m so sorry. I totally get how hard it is and how you feel. I reached out to you when I was going through similar circumstances. It’s so hard sometimes and there is never ever just a chicken. Recently I have had trouble with my Vorwerk. I think I had an 80% fatality rate. So I have made a difficult decision to not hatch anymore. 💔😭 I have a pullet and a rooster the same age probably 10 months old. The pullet has quite a bit of character. One of our Rooster warriors rehoming Volunteers loves them to. She had lost lots of chickens ( chooks in Australia) I have offered those 2 to her. I said I know you will love them and care for them. No matter how short their life is. Also did a fair bit of asking other breeders questions . Only one breeder hadn’t had a problem with them. Like the Lakenvelder they have practically no resistance to Cocci. Yes I do sell my chickens. But I still love each one. I don’t sell the roosters though. I need to do something to give myself an independent income. Also to keep helping Roosters. I keep way to many of them. I’m going to share this with our Rooster Warriors Rehoming volunteers group. Because all of us girls have been at the point of giving up our chickens because of the heart 💔 . Honestly I was in tears watching your video. You are inspiring. Big hugs being sent your way. 💜 thank you for doing what you do. 💜🐓💜
I chose to follow you and your unfolding story because your honesty and empathy speak to my soul. I know what you mean about about redemption--the chicken yard is a lifechanging, spirit-cleansing place, and my hens keep me from just giving up and giving in to the darkness. I share your painful self-doubts when things go sideways, and revel in your joy when our birds are healthy and happy. I'm honored to fall in beside you, no matter what scary turns our path will take. Fistbump, Sister.
@@WelcometoChickenlandia I wept this morning thinking of how tragic it must feel to cradle a limp little call duck in your arms. It's just so wrong to lose a bird... I'm glad you're so strong. Your strength inspires us all.
I am a new chicken momma because of your videos. I lost a gorgeous 4 mos old silkie 2 weeks ago and then a loveable 6 yr old goat last Saturday. My heart is still so sad. These babies become our world. They are so much more fragile than we think. Thank you for sharing your journey....happy or sad.
Sorry for your loss. You don’t need to tell us about your personal life, it’s none of our business. We are here to learn from your success and failures with chickens. First time chicken owner and I’m thankful for your videos.
We are the same age and have the same love for these amazing beings. They are my chicken therapy! People understand losing a dog after loving them for a year but they are so judgemental when I cry over a chicken. They are my world and I understand your situation completely. We adopted some chicks that (even after doing everything right), passed away. Following this, the rest of the flock became ill and died one after the other. You are my inspiration and I thank you so much!
Holy crap I am sitting here bawling... Your passion for what you do is palpable and I am so sorry for all you are going through/have gone through. Sending all of the healthy healing energy to Chickenlandia today. Now please excuse me while I run outside and desperately try to hug my chickens. 😭❤
So very sorry for your loss! Hugs & prayers. I love your heart & dedication to give your feathered friends the very best life you can. I love how you share alternative medical information & remedies with us. I saved my little Rhode Island Red hen using your information on weepy eyes & raspy breathing. I was making progress & thought the issue was resolved, but it returned. So I went back to the homeopathic remedy & added 2-3 drops of colloidal silver to the oatmeal mush. Cleared up in a couple of days & has not returned in several months. I keep the homeopathic remedies you suggest in my chicken kit & have added a bottle of colloidal silver, too.
I pray you find some comfort in knowing how many chicken lives you have saved by your channel and sharing your knowledge with all of us. We are new to chickens. I watched all your videos on first aid and caring for a sick chick. I was believing for the best but preparing for those times. I’m sure there are many who could testify that the knowledge you freely give to us, helped them when something came up. For me it was knowing something wasn’t right with one of my girls. I brought her in the house, put her in the spare shower (cuz that’s what you do) and gave her electrolytes with yolk. I also gave her rescue remedy and r&r. That was all she needed- I think it was heat exhaustion. Thank you from our family and from all the chickens that have recovered because of you. 💜💜💜🐓🐓🐓🐥🐥🐥
Oh I love my chickens. I had someone ask me how long do I spend with my chickens and how often do I go out to spend time with them? Well, I go spend at least an hour in the morning about another hour in the afternoon then there's a new chicken that's still learning to become a member of the flock that needs special attention and love I spend with at night after the others go into the coop. She's an Easter egger and is the sweetest chicken ever. All she wants is to be apart of the flock and it's been very hard. She's just now able to sleep cuddled up with some of them but the rooster is still being a real jerk. So yeah, I get it. I've only been a chicken lady for 6 months and they have totally captured my heart! We chicken lovers have to stick together. They are only a few of the animals in our life and I'm always fascinated by them and could watch and interact with them all day if I didn't have so many others to take care of. ❤️ I live my other babies too but I sit with the chickens and think..oh my goodness...I finally have my chickens!! What joy!
Keeping chickens is wonderful and easy until it isn't. I've had my share of heartbreak with chickens, too. It can be SO. HARD. emotionally. You are one of the first 'chicken ladies' I found when I began keeping chickens years ago and I appreciate you so much. Thank you for continuing to share your experiences and your candor. I hope the hard moments are over for now 💕
Awww, my heart goes out to you Sweetheart, know that you have always gone above and beyond for your flock, they are happy birds. Thanks for you honesty in sharing such a painful experience. It will help us all, if or when it happens to us.🥰🐔🐣🐥🐓🦢
No shame, my friend. You're an empath. I am too. I've got several that I've had that connection with. I just held them so closely and so tightly and wondered what I would ever do if they didn't pull through. I am also 47 and I've had an extremely painful and empty life. The love of an animal is unconditional and innocent in a way that a human connection is often not possible. Thank you for being brave enough to speak out about this. ❤
This is why I missed posting a video last week. It’s been tough in Chickenlandia but I hope others can learn from my experience. ❤️
I say the same thing but here I am super attached to all of them! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you.
You’re so welcome! Sorry for your losses. ❤️❤️❤️
The greatest souls love deeply😇🥰
My current score is five. Four hens to predators and one to illness. All hard lessons.
YOUR LOVE FOR CHICKENS SHOWS EVERY TIME YOU SPEAK. I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.
I am raising my first six, in town, backyard hens. I am 57 and live alone, so they are my friends, pets and source of comedy, so I totally understand your devastation! I love and appreciate your channel! Just keep going! :)
❤️❤️❤️
Same but I’m 51.
You inspired me to get 10 baby chicks in the spring. Loving the babies. Hubby just finished the Big chicken run, Girls are so happy now….freedom!
Thank you so much for showing me the beauty, enjoyment and love that chicks can give us. Thanks again ♥️
❤️❤️❤️
You are such a precious, inspiring treasure! I want you to remember all of the little creatures that you have brought back from the brink of disaster and the beautiful life that you have provided them. Even if that beautiful life only lasted for a short while it was worth the love that you poured into them. You have inspired me to be brave enough to bring home some sick babies from the feed store myself and try to nurse them back to health. Sometimes they don't make it but I know they were loved and cared for in their last hours. Keep on doing what you do...your love has a ripple effect that is spreading across the entire world!
Thank you so much!
I know exactly how you feel. When my chickens are sick I cry like a baby I can't function because for some reason what they feel I'm feeling. My husband told me the other day you have forgotten about your house and your family due to taking care of the chickens all the time. I can't help it they made me happy.👍❤
❤️❤️❤️
Your proprieties are just as you need them to be. Chickens bring so much to ours lives.
Ok, but your human family is more important. Listen to your husband, his needs are more important than your chickens. I love my chickens, too, but my husband’s needs are more important. I might need to give my chickens up because of my husband’s needs.
I so feel you on how chickens changed your life. I get it. I’m also so emotional about my chickens, flock and chicken yard.
One crazy chicken lady to another, I hear you. Who would have thought that chicken’s could have so much personality and be so loving?
Thank you! I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️
I am absolutely in love with my birds and I am crushed when I loose one . I am a nurse and I can't wait every day to go home and see my animals and care for them .
❤️❤️❤️
I have both and the cats love those birds as much as we do.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Girl stop making me cry!!!! I seriously love you! I think most of us do and most of us don't judge. You are an amazing human and I strive to be just as amazing! You are so genuine and that's very important in life!
❤️❤️❤️
Me too, watery eyes with this video for sure. 😥❤
Me too! I have been crying off and on since I realized my young hen is vision impaired this just started the tears flowing!!
I paused this video at 2:49, before I ever knew what happened, so I could tell you…
I am SO VERY GRATEFUL for transparency & HONESTY regarding mistakes made. In sharing mistakes (or “accidents”), we provide a profound gift of knowledge. Learning what NOT to do is even more valuable than knowing exactly WHAT to do. Much LOVE, LIGHT & RESPECT to you. ❤️
Agree. It’s important for us to see others making mistakes and moving past those mistakes. We all mess up. Each and every one of us.
Thank you so much!!!
It is the Circle of Life- people must be mature and be prepared for nature's possibilities. You face the challenges like a champion, D! 🤗🥰
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness! You’re a fierce chicken parent! ❤️❤️❤️🐍🐍🐍
❤️❤️❤️
I thought of you last night while going to sleep as one of my girls is under the weather and in "hospital". I wondered how you would handle things and said a prayer of thanks for finding you and your channel. 🙏 Thanks for sharing your story and your strength Mrs. President. Healing and wellness vibes going out to you and all the hens in need of it.
My goodness, now I’m crying! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much.
Sorry for your loss. They’re like family. They have a wonderful life with you .
You are such an inspiration to so many; including my 10yo daughter and me. This is a beautiful video. You have given so many sweet (and grumpy) little birds a wonderful life as they have done for you. Thank you for sharing your talents and teaching us. Very very sorry for your loss.
Thank you!!
Thank you so much!
Take care.💚
Thank you!
It's so hard to lose a young one! I'm glad your own words made you see through the sadness. So glad Bagel is doing better! xo
Thank you
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mother. And I’m glad your chickens give you comfort. Sending my love to your sweet chicken who is struggling. ❤️

Thank you so much!
I’m sorry for your loss. Thank you so much for the kind words! ❤️
They really are!
Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you President.
Philippe should be called on the carpet and severely reprimanded for his stealth-attack on you President.
I guess I don't know any other way to say this but you just grabbed my heart. Thank you so much for your Insight, you're caring, and all that you do.
You’re so welcome!
Wow. Your written words made me cry. They hit hard. I hope you take those words to heart. ❤️ Please take care. Thank you Madame President!
I’m so so sorry that this has happened to you! I know it’s difficult to lose one of your flock. I know you do what’s best for them and you give them a good and happy life. Thanks for sharing this and for all you do!
You're an inspiration Madam President. Hugs from my chickens!

Dang girl your my inspiration! Your the reason I don’t feel like a crazy lady who loves her chickens and wants to go check on them in the middle of the night.😉❤️
gardening and chicken keeping are changing my life too! thx for sharing.
I don't think my chickens would be anywhere near as healthy if I didn't have you to learn from! Hope all is well in Chickenlandia!
Big hugs to you and all your beloved chickens. One day at a time. Thank you for being so open and honest. Yup. Tis life. We do our best for our beloved birds.
Thanks for keeping me going with my chickens xx
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ❤️
Simply this your heart is so loving God bless you PRESIDENTE CHICKENLANDIA LADY
Thank you for this episode. I could see how hard it was to make. You have shown that even the best chicken keepers, and you're one of the best, can have health issues visit their flock. I'm so sorry you lost a few. But I am so glad to see little Bagel on the mend. Thank you so much for allowing us into your wonderful world of chickens.
I'm so glad Bagel pulled through, sorry about Marshmallow. You had me crying 💜🐸
Thank you!!
Im so sorry for the turmoil & worry. You have to remember to show yourself the same kindness and grace you always show your audience.
Hopefully people will respect that❤
Thank you so much!! ❤️
That is such a tough experience! Wishing the best for you and your future flock! ❤️❤️❤️
You’re so welcome!
Entertain yes,...truth ,...your love drips off the screen!! You have Grace. And radiate it!!
Thank you!
You are such a good chicken mamma, Bless you for what you do and teach.
Just do the best you can each day and know your chickens had a good life with. you.
Beautiful woman!! Beautiful words!!
You INSPIRE me!!!
🤍🖤🤍
❤️😃😃
Hey, don’t worry Madame President. Real life happens and it is not our fault. Your love for your animals comes through. You are very precious to the chicken world, hang in there. We are here with you. 💕
YES!!! My flock brings me so much joy! I have 1 sick one right now, so I know the feeling sorry that you feel ❤️
Oh no so sorry about sweet Marshmallow. God Bless your dear heart and all the great work you do!! Thank you for sharing xo
Thank you for being so open and vulnerable. You have a great heart and I have no questions that you absolutely love your chickens more than anything! 🤍
You are a wonderful, kind, beautiful person. Thank you for sharing a story about “the tough stuff.” Thank
you for all that you do to help the rest of us raise a successful flock. I can’t wait for your book to come out!
Hugest hugs for your losses. No matter what it's so tough. Praying for you. There is just like family.
Oh, Dalia. I love you. Thank you for this very honest video. You gave me a good reason to let the tears flow today.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great message delivered perfectly. We all have to keep going. 👍🏼
Oh I'm so sorry Dalia. But thank you for being honest and transparent even when it's ugly. Man, those birds were so lucky to be part of your flock as we all know you gave it you all for them as always. I can't wait for your book!
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for posting this. I’m really hurting tonight over the loss of my 10 week old, Mae, last week and your words help to remind me of some of those important points. I had no idea it would hurt this bad to lose a chicken. It’s worth it to have them, but wow does it ache. 😢
So sorry for your loss!
Love your channel and your honesty. My Grandpa always says “Don’t let the bastards get you down.
Love You so much Dear Chickie Sis!!! Big Hugs from the Key Peninsula
Aww, your so inspiring 💗 ❤️ your love is SO transparent 🥰
Madame President, don't feel bad about yourself. You are an awesome inspiration to all of us backyard chicken keepers. When I have a chicken problem, YOU are my source for kind, loving, solid information. I appreciate all the education you bring to all of us. Thank you and God Bless Chickenlandia!
P.S. I am glad Bagel is better.
Thank you so much, my friend!
I have a pullet and a rooster the same age probably 10 months old.
The pullet has quite a bit of character.
One of our Rooster warriors rehoming Volunteers loves them to. She had lost lots of chickens ( chooks in Australia)
I have offered those 2 to her.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
So proud of you we all feel this breaks my heart when happens too then I go sit with flock and my heart fills back up
This is my most favourite and valued video so far. It’s real. Thank you for sharing this. ❤️
Thank you so much, Susie! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m sorry for your loss! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your kind words. It is difficult every time we lose one. Can’t wait for your book.
Sorry for your loss. You don’t need to tell us about your personal life, it’s none of our business. We are here to learn from your success and failures with chickens. First time chicken owner and I’m thankful for your videos.
❤️❤️❤️
(You've made me cry on multiple videos.) Thank you for sharing, even though it's hard! Sorry for your loss 💜 💕 🥰 ❤️
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
You are a beautiful person! Thank you for sharing your chicken experience with us. x
I’m so glad!!!
💜💜💜🐓🐓🐓🐥🐥🐥
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sorry for your loss , "you do the best with what you got where you are at" PJF Keep Doing what your doing!!!!!

❤️ to you and your chickens.
Sooooo true. We do our best....and our chickens are our blessing....and eggs!
👍✝️🙏❤️❤️❤️
I hope the hard moments are over for now 💕
Im so sorry that happened and how could anyone judge such a sweet soul! God be with you and chickenlandia.
❤️❤️❤️
It’s always sad to lose a feathered friend
