- Emirates is the most popular airline from the Middle East and has a very good reputation but also often the highest prices compared to their competitors. Their fleet is consists of Boeing 777 and Airbus A380. In this Trip Report we're flying on one of the their Triple Sevens from Cape Town (CPT) to Dubai (DXB) and find out if they are really worth the money.

Flew with them last year via Dubai. A380 and 777-300ER in Economy. I think it is still the best Economy class I have ever flown with and their overall service is amazing. (long haul comparison: Finnair, AirFrance, Turkish Airlines, Asiana, Lufthansa, AirChina, United) 😀

I went to south east Asia couple of weeks ago by Emirates from London and it was a wonderful experience. I love the their 777 and admire their a380, loved the food the flight attendants and their flight entertainment system the ICE

Flew Emirates BC Singapore to Athens via Dubai on A380 and 777. Strangely the food on both flights to Athens was as cold as the staff. Opposite direction totally opposite. Sometimes the hype doesn't live up to expectations. Out of all the BC flights we took last year Emirates, Singapore, Turkish, Qantas, Aegean, surprisingly Qantas and Turkish came out out on top, Singapore at the bottom. You fly BC for comfort. A350 seats are as hard as a rock and incapable of being slept on. Aegean product I don't count a blocked middle seat as BC. We don't fly economy much these days with a hubby that is 6'7.

recently flew to London from Lahore return, I would say the meals were very good, love the fact that you get cheese and crackers with lunch and dinner. Overall 8/10, I shall certainly fly with them again, my favourite airline.

❤Emirates Airlines is my favorite
I had 4 flights with Emirates this month (all on B777) and I have to disagree with the older is better/more comfortable in economy. The one leg where they used their old B777 was the least comfortable of all also the inflight entertainment there was barely working and often went unresponsive, they had to do a complete reset during flight as there were entire rows where it was just not working at all. Once we switched to the newer B777 in Dubai all was great again. Despite the hickups it was a pleasure to fly them, as they offer one of the best (if not the best) long haul Economy out there.

Have to agree that the 777s used on the Cape Town leg are looking and feeling very worn a nd have started downloading my own in flight entertainment beforehand due to problems with the IFE poor responses. My worst meal was on this route CPT to DBX when I booked a diabetic meal...clearly those that plan have no clue. An due to fly with them again this year but have booked normal meals and praying for a more modern plane. Qatar's planes are much newer and food more appetising but timing doesn't fit very well with my next trip unfortunately.

I would love to know your opinion: Which airport in LONDON should I go for smooth Immigration Clearance-Baggage Collection-Exit? Is it LHR/LGW/STN. My country of departure is BOM.
@@AtulNiphade None. All horrible in terms of smooth and fast immigration.
@@AtulNiphade If you haven't flown yet, my suggestion is stansted because it is a smaller and less busier airport (still busy) than heathrow and gatwick, in my experience stansted immigration and baggage collection is fast so yeah stansted is probably the best out of these three london airports.

How short are you to describe that 777 economy class legroom as good? I flew that exact Emirates flight in 2019 with that same older economy class cabin and was cramped as hell. I had the newer 777 cabin on my Maldives flight. Same legroom but noticeably better IFE screens.
Just have a look, my height is displayed in the right upper corner when the legroom is shown at 03:19.

Well with almost 200cm it‘ll be cramped for you on almost every airline. With your height I would definitely consider to spend money on extra legroom seats at the emergency exit rows for example.

I think that if you compare to the competion, Emirates ranks still high. Really not much to complain about
In our rating of this flight at the end of the video this Emirates flight is ranked with 4.4/5 which is pretty high indeed.

You do understand that you ordered special meal and Emirates don't have a catering base in South Africa. Vegetarian or special meals outside that hubs are always a hit and miss.
Yes, and it was a miss. We share our experiences of that specific flight and do not rate airlines only the flight.

The worst food inflight food i had was on Swiss air B777-300ER from Zurich to JFK , the No2 worst was KLM from AMS to JFK, so far I have no complaint about(JFK-MXP) EK 's food which is a lot better compare to those European big airlines...!
Are you planning to finally travel with Aegean Airlines A320Neo? Also to inform you the meals have returned in Business Class. Economy class is medium but in terms of service it's better than the Lufthansa Group members. They have installed WiFi on board services on the Neo aircrafts but I'd recommend you to book Business Class for more legroom

Did 6 flights with Aegean September last year. 4 in economy. 2 BC. Like all inter European flights they are just a bus with wings. BC meh. I would rather take the extra time and go via Turkey on Turkish Airlines for the proper BC experience if I am going to pay BC prices. But they got us there with no lost luggage and 2 days later than 1 flight we booked. The 4 flights we did with Turkish in BC were superb.

15:05 min The worst food I had was on flight Washington to Kopenhagen with SAS. I ordered Diabetic Food as Im Diabetic 2 and get a carb full plate with banana. 1. I hate banana, 2. Carb as a Diabetic Person isn't a good idea. Well I eaten nothing and was very hungry then in Kopenhagen. Good that i'm not falling in low blood sugar at this time and eaten a low carb meal at the Airport.
I told that SAS, but they never gave an answer back. SAS👎

Probably United has had the worst catering I’ve ever had. Their catering (even for business class) is so unbelievably inconsistent and often times, the meal is simply inedible.
Yes, we’ve flown United as well, from Brussels to Newark and the catering was almost on the same level than on this flight. You can find the video of that United flight on our channel, too. Thanks for watching!
I love the reports but onboard service 4 / 5 and the worst meal ever. I don’t know always soo hard wird LH and then this Horror food an this rating for emirates yea idk …
Thanks for watching. Please have a look at the rating explanation at the video description. There you can see that „onboard services“ includes much more than the food quality. E.g. amount of food served for flight length, portion size, availability of additional amenities (pillow, blanket, amenity kit) etc.. You can see there all things which influence each point of the rating. So if the food quality wouldn’t be that bad on this flight it would have been a 5/5. The poor food quality made it a 4/5.
Non-meat meals are often very poor quality.

the aircraft they use on the CPT to DBX route were made when dinosaurs ruled the world ! Its a disgrace they inflict these on such a long haul flight on passengers. having used them on my last 2 flights , its Qatar for me despite the longer route going forwards ( and this seems to be the same with fellow emirates victims i know ) . to sum up...... screens not working on all flights. no interior lighting at all when they insist on closing the windows despite it being daylight so you sit in a black tube for 9 hours !! seat backs not holding so you really annoy the guy behind you. reading lights you have to use as they black out the cabin are SO ancient they have turned yellow and of little use ............. soooooo noisy compared to modern aircraft ... and the list goes on. strongly suggest folks use qatar instead and they use modern aircraft. and if you don't believe me check out reviews on Skyrax. Emirates have well and truly dropped the ball, fumbled the pass, and tripped over before the try line !
