I saw you on IG and tried your swing. Amazingly hitting my 7 Iron 20-30 yards more and hitting like a bullet. Feeling so good! Thank you. Also fixed my occasional slice problem.
Thats wonderful, peter cowan thought me that grip for bunker play, but if i see you, its good for all shots.💞🏌🏻♂️. Love the butterfly grip 🦋. Thank you for translating
Thank you for the subtitles with a good video! I have tried the "swing" and have to say it is effortless, I feel more power, no aches afterwards. However, for the life of me I cannot get the ball not to slice. The impact / strike is solid, I have changed the grip, stance, alignment to compensate but I still slice it. I am not a massive "slicer" more a fader of the ball, but attempting this swing style creates a prolific slice (next fairway type) :-). What steer can you give on how to stop this slice as I think the swing you have is worth pursuing. Thanks! Simon
Match your body rotation tempo to your hand on impact. If you open your body too much on impact while your hands are late, its gonna be slice slice baby
Make sure that left hand is on top on impact ~ pause any of his videos upon impact and you will see it. I slice EVERY single ball. Today, I was drawing and even hooking my drives thanks to switching this up. It will feel like you are going to be open on impact but it really keeps your swing from coming inside ~ as long as you addressed the ball correct with the face, you will be golden.
Try bowing your lead hand maybe? Exaggerate the bow for quite a bit then it’ll come naturally. I think if you bow it then swing, it’ll come back straight in time. If not, it’ll hook a bit. Just my penny though.
@@robzkie659 Thank you! I have recently stopped firing my hips first in the downswing, but arm drop down first then follow through. This keeps the swing more on plane and straight shots, but also it shows that if my top half is too fast its a direct pull to the left. Now, trying to cut the left hand more increases the fade to a slice. I will get there one day 🙂
Thanks for the subtitles its appreciated. Great video, i am practising your swing and is working very well, just need some more time to get it right for the course :-)
The "Butterfly" grip seems to also be promoted by Pete Cowens, who promotes to grip as if you're twisting a towel to wring out water. It rotates both hands inwards on the grip. It seems though that yours is a little modified so that the right hand doesn't really rotate in that much, to allow a wrist motion of mostly dorsi/palmar flexion. It's similar to the grip promoted by Mike Malaska, makes a lot of sense in my opinion.
Arigatogozaimasu for the subtitles!
