A History of Wedding Rings and Their Meaning

Most people in America think that the entire world wears their wedding ring on their left hand and that it's always been this way. Not so. In fact, it's a fairly new custom, relatively speaking, since rings have been used for marriage for close to 5,000 years. Here, Father Chris gives a brief history of their use and meaning from the Egyptians, to the Jews, the Greeks, the Romans and then to Orthodox Christians up to this day.
