Denis Villeneuve is a gift to the modern cinema. I feel immensely lucky to be here and now and experience his work. And totally agreeing with the host saying Deakins' work is art.
Denis, being Francais, brings an entirely different perspective to the movie. People think French don't like Americans, but it's not true, they think Americans might disrespect them for capitulating so quickly in WW2, therefore possibly discounting the invaluable work that was done by the French resistance. I'd be annoyed about that if I were French.
The thing about Alejandro is that all of his working relationships, including with past colleagues, seem really solid. He hasn’t let his personal tragedy tarnish his life - his pursuit is unwavering, and it’s where all his venom is directed.
Ikr! I watched Usual Suspects and French Dispatch but didn’t quite “notice” him. Just recently I watched Sicario on Netflix and i was hooked ever since.
absolutely fantastic film... and the sequel is amazing too.... the drive through juarez scared the shit out of me that something is gonna go really wrong
Johan Johansson should’ve been on this panel too. His work on this movie is just as important as everyone else up there. Phenomenal work all around. Movie is entertaining and artistic.
if you follow the last scene of the film (Sicario),, it's ACTUALLY what denzel washington tries to relate to Ethan Hawke's character in Training Day immediately following the jump on the two rapists (30 minute mark) Don't believe me? Watch the scene about the sheep and the wolves... Ethan Hawke's character AND Emily Blunt's character didn't figure it ouT, til the end.
I would say no your comparison. bc Ethan was doing for the people of the neighborhood, where as Emily was always the antagonist doing it for self righteousnous.
Missed an opportunity to feature one of the best actresses in the movie: the kid. The facial expressions she had the two times when guys got their brains blown out while holding her. She had a look of PTSD on her face and she gets no mention whatsoever.
This interviewer is making a horrible mistake by giving them his false interpretation instead of asking open ended questions that allow them to explain how they felt about the character and the scene. Benicia is amazing and Denis did an incredible job!
Tudo bem, Benício? Fico muito contente em te ver nas telas e também em entrevistas! Você é muito lindo! Gostaria que você estivesse aqui no Brasil! Entende? 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I agree. Seemed pretty obvious when he put his crotch in the guys face and then thrusts his pelvis into him, followed by rhythmic grunting. Can't believe so many people didn't pick up on this.
I can come home after a hard day of work and itll be the middle of the night and put on this movie to just forget about everything. It is just so damn good. Denis is my fav director of this era, nolan being second.
There are some awesome actors in this story, but the character played by the dude from Get Out. Explain to me why that role couldn't have gone to an American black actor? At first I didn't think much about the British invasion talk in Hollywood, but I now get it. Clearly guys like Omar Epps, Tay Diggs, Omar Gooding, Tyrese, Dre, Makai,, the kid from Everybody Hates Chris, Darius Mccury from Family Matters, the list goes on and on. I don't get producers deliberately choosing not to hire Black American actors. It doesn't make sense to me.
It's not uniqure, the same as silence of the lambs. Virtue vs reality and holding on to the idea of purity enduring corruption. The interest should be in that how accurate the government vs paramilitary relationship is especially in south america. Sorry to be negatuve but character-wise, nothing new, its the subject and modern relevance that is the impact of this film. That and the traditional love salvation aspect.
Not a joke really. The others just found it funny that Benicio would liken his character Alejandro to a polar bear crawling out to escape from where it doesn't want to be. Like he said at one point, it's been a long day!
This is a good watch but the interviewer needs to stop trying to insert his opinions all over the place. Just ask a simple question: "Emily, can you talk about your training with SWAT teams?" Easy.
It wasn't Benicio, it was his character, lol. But yea, that scene was brutal. That's the guy who took his family from him while he had to watch, so he did the same to him before he killed him. Gangland/Cartel revenge. It's messy and extreme. Goes too far.

He is one of the heirs of Ridley Scott.
@@antoniovaldespino6650 ummm. No. He's surpassed him already.
@@klausrain111 He is not French
never get bored of watching Benicio Del Toro interviews....too short
The border crossing scene........so tense...........the barking dog.......the darting eyes of the bad guys...... double taps......genius.
Roger Deakins looks like a Renaissance painting.
LoL
Hahahahahahaha....
Holy fuck is this accurate lol
If i had an extra hand i would give this movie 3 thumbs up, sensational.
What if you had an extra leg?
Top Ten for sure. Find something intriguing about the film each time & have watched many times.
that's why you only have 2
This movie was amazing
The thing about Alejandro is that all of his working relationships, including with past colleagues, seem really solid. He hasn’t let his personal tragedy tarnish his life - his pursuit is unwavering, and it’s where all his venom is directed.
Emily and Benecio, two of my faves in the same movie. Great acting! Josh was great, too! Loved this movie from beginning to end!
💖
"Get closer...penetrate." -Benicio del Toro
Just makes me think of that "interrogation" scene, ugh lol.
😁🥰
Roger Deakins is a master of cinematography
I JUST SAW THIS .. BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN IN A DECADE
Only see Benicio lol so handsome
that distant laugh from the audience after he said polar bear
Beer*
One thing I noticed is that Benicio is not ashamed of fixing his nose in front of camera and the penetrate thing that was hilarious
Roger Deakins and his film and editing team are the unsung heroes. They made this film.
Benicio cant stop teasing emily😅♥️
I think they are good friends.
@@ludada1000 i think he loves her
Benicio Del Toro Oh .. I think i got crush on him ever since I've watched SICARIO.
Ikr! I watched Usual Suspects and French Dispatch but didn’t quite “notice” him. Just recently I watched Sicario on Netflix and i was hooked ever since.
Benicio trained with actual Sicario hitmen for his role 👏👏👏 Amazing
sleepy eyes Del Toro
Thomas Merc
He looks the same in his graduation album
absolutely fantastic film... and the sequel is amazing too.... the drive through juarez scared the shit out of me that something is gonna go really wrong
Del Toro looks like he is against every word Emily is saying🤣🤣🤣
Great to hear a group of talents at the top of their game discussing how they put together this classic-to-be.
We want the Prequel..show the story of Alejandro
Yes!
I need this!
Let him kill rayes first
Ya. How he was made post the murder of his wife and daughter
Amen.
Johan Johansson should’ve been on this panel too. His work on this movie is just as important as everyone else up there. Phenomenal work all around. Movie is entertaining and artistic.
Google it , see if he can come...???????

Awesome having the DP up on a panel like this.
question and answer 3:40 - 4:17 (penetrate)
I can't wait to see a sicario 3, the first two movies were really amazing
There's a third coming ?
The 1st movie was amazing, the 2nd was a little bit flimsy.
4:06 🤣🤣🤣 oh i love this guy! 😂
4:16 josh's and emily's reaction 😄
Great movie, great cast, Ive only seen it 6 times
For me this film has become a drug.
Watched it 4 times in a span of two weeks.
Josh Brolin was superb!
Josh is showing his Firefighter side in this interview. I like it.
Emily Blunt should have won the Oscar
Tough group she was up against
1st and 2nd sicario are amazing movie.thanks
Why does Benicio look so perplexed during this lol
It annoys me that Taylor Sheridan wasn't on this panel. It all starts on the page, and yet the screenwriter usually falls by the wayside.
Poor Taylor, he’s had it so hard
I found that the movie was quite good. Did you guys see it that way?
Missed an opportunity to feature one of the best actresses in the movie: the kid. The facial expressions she had the two times when guys got their brains blown out while holding her. She had a look of PTSD on her face and she gets no mention whatsoever.
Not the same movie
I watched both episode almost 10 times
mr.toro can be lead rule for transporter and james bond

yeah he pretty much confirmed the whole "he raped Guillermo" theory
+Joshy Song what?
+Joshy Song Yep.
He did not rape him, he beat and tortured him
I agree. Seemed pretty obvious when he put his crotch in the guys face and then thrusts his pelvis into him, followed by rhythmic grunting. Can't believe so many people didn't pick up on this.
*Scotty Bryant* "Argh! Uh! Uh! Uh! Uh!"
This movie made Del Toro in the level of Keanu Reeves to me.
whens the 3rd one coming out great films.
Emily is such a freaking hottie!!
Too short :(
I can come home after a hard day of work and itll be the middle of the night and put on this movie to just forget about everything. It is just so damn good. Denis is my fav director of this era, nolan being second.
where is full conversation ?
Hardcore movie. Down to earth.
And still fiction. Surpasses REALITY.
The Cartel ☠️ is WAY WORSE.
Should have been Oscar’s
Such an incredible movie.
Time to meet God: Alehandro(Badass)
Waiting for Part 3?
Great movie.
BDT is beautiful I can't
Benicino del toro looks like a Mexican Clint Eastwood
What did Alejandro do to Guillermo in the interrogation room???
It was great
clicked on this thinking it was jemaine clement, but it's just ol' benicio :(
cant wait for sicario 2
Great film!
Just like in the movie, Buckwheat wasn't invited
Where's Taylor Sheridan?
Constant state of anxiety
it's been along day since i was gay
4:28 wtf did he say? "etsucience"? i never heard that word in my life
Best movie ever
Taylor Sheridan should've been in this conversation.

I’m sure you’re a lot of fun
"Like a polar bear would?" I don't get the joke
moviedude22 they like polar bears that’s it
acdclife94 that explains that mystery
His character is wanting to escape hell like a polar bear would want to escape

Suck a great movie, so tense.
So, did he put his dingdong in Guillermo in the movie or what?
This is a good watch but the interviewer needs to stop trying to insert his opinions all over the place. Just ask a simple question: "Emily, can you talk about your training with SWAT teams?" Easy.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I just watched this and sadly I couldn't get into this movie I was expecting alot of action and sadly the action was very flat.
Roger deakins. You know…
@ 2:20 Benicio Del Toro looks just like Gary Glitter, lmao...
Either benecio is trying to be Clint Eastwood or has bad astigmatism
I like the movie but cant get around how it influences and glorifies murder to our young people. Is it any wonder more and more of them do so?
This host is so pretentious, it's just dripping off him
OMG i can't believe that benecio kill two kids with a cold blood !!
SPOILER ALERT...Kinda!
It wasn't Benicio, it was his character, lol. But yea, that scene was brutal. That's the guy who took his family from him while he had to watch, so he did the same to him before he killed him. Gangland/Cartel revenge. It's messy and extreme. Goes too far.
