this graft is now in its second year and I'm hopeful that it will set fruit next season.... fingers crossed!

I've always been fascinated with this whole grafting process. I don't know how nature knows how to do that, but it's incredible. I love seeing that we only need to do so much (grafting) to support it, and it knows to take care of the rest. This is not to dismiss your part by the way, just pure fascination because it honestly feels like magic. In my head it's almost like taping an arm on watching them grow an extra limb 😅 Also, I had no idea apple trees took so long to bear fruit. Gardening is A LOT of work. But it must be super satisfying too, especially for plant nerds ;)

and yes super satisfying and frustrating at times too!
as the grafter/gardner... I see it as I'm just setting up the proper conditions for the plants to thrive!
some times it works!!!
and when it does it feels like magic!!!!!
