the ground up B out of shield really strong against Ness who likes to aerial pressure shield and cross up or float out to safety but links up B covers both Also his aerial up B to recover onstage usually beats out yoyo at ledge that's why you don't really see awestin use it after the first stock when it didn't work unless he's really under the ledge, good adjustment
Man, if Awestin went to majors he would tear up. But financial struggles get in the way. Also as a link main this video was great to watch on both sides
I don't think anyone who does commentary plays as ness... that's just the vibe I get from how flabbergasted every commentator gets when Awestin uses ness in a witty way. It just isn't that shocking if you know the Ness
lucabaar1 yeah when they were surprised that the PK flash went through the platform I was so confused cause I thought it was common knowledge that it didn’t have collision on anything but the stage itself.
@@newchilidog5367 most of the time ssbu commentary is just hype. These guys did pretty good compared to other commentators. The frostbite 2019 USA vs Japan commentary is one example of bad "all hype" commentating
Witted Kill3rr yeah there were times he could’ve even forced out up smashes and instead when for the bair. I can only think it’s because of more combo potential but sometimes you gotta go for that kill instead.
my only gripe with this link he was throwing his boomerangs at an angle way to much try to read for the air how about make him jump away from it links nairs are fucking insane
@@Popinazo sure. It's double elimination, which means you have to lose two sets to get kicked out of the tournament. Awestin was in the "winners bracket" which means he didn't lose a single game up until this grand finals match. The other guy was in the "losers bracket" so he lost a match but then won every other match until getting to grand finals. If awestin had won the first set, it would have been over, but since he lost then they had to play a final set to see who's 1st and who's 2nd. Does that make sense?
@@williamgaliber9387 Subjectively, when I play Ness, the links are my worst match-ups. You can also see that Austin struggles against projectiles. Just sayin.
Reaper he’s not the worst but yeah it’s pretty bad. Between side b and back throw. Just give him a good jab and a more consistent up b and get rid of this garbage
I love watching awestin play against good players. Watching him adapt to different playstyles with ONLY ness is amazing.
dude hes a ness main lol it's the easiest character to master spam characters with very strong attacks are easiest to use very good recovery
ness is a meta character very op I'd like to see him get good with let's say fox where hes at a big disadvantage against 90% of the character base
PK FIRE
This guy is a good Link.
He is number 1 in austin
@Lawson Azariah i can hack your bank account...top that
This is the cleanest and best performance by a Link player I have ever seen!
hey! ! dont forget izaw

Awestin‘ s shirt game is fire
He's also wearing AOL sweatpants.
Yay for Awestin! That Link player was pretty awesome as well.
You come at the king, you best not miss!
The Wire!!!
I’ve never seen Awestin actually land the pk flash I screamed
Best smash game I have ever watched from ultimate so far. That Link is insane
get him a goron tunic he's heating up XD
did u guys get new cameras??
damn hakii had me on the ropes the first set but then bracket reset the momentum and good adaptation from awestin to clean up the second set

Both of these guys are such great players, adapting to each other's play styles, and they're both so respectful to each other too, I love it.
The best smash commentators I've come across in a min. On point ✔✔
Man, what a GOOD link. Solid gameplay.
Awestin's sequencing in neutral is wild. I'm still trying to understand his play and I'm still lost. I have a lot to learn
The Link player fights like me but 10x faster.
Man, if Awestin went to majors he would tear up. But financial struggles get in the way. Also as a link main this video was great to watch on both sides
I literally was getting furious with all the hockey reference until I realized the commentator was saying Hakii 😂
Hakii is respect
This dudes link is clean!
That PK flash KO was the equivalent to a fatality, very nice.
Anyone else thinking of One Piece when they say Hakii?
The Nicky Cage shirt, to the down throw into bomb det, to the America online pants??! Big brain plays indeed.
Even though ness is amazing this match really made me want to play more link
Such a good Link. One of the best I’ve ever seen for sure

I think they also just get hype because Awestin's the local champ. That's why they always talk so biased toward him lol

Sooooo what is comona?
I got you with 1 year late like. Cause idk what that is lol
So many missed grab opportunities for the link, he was too focused on short hop b-air 🤧🤧

wrong game in the description dawg!
That was awesome
I love watching awestin
These announcers had a serious hard on for Awestin. Great Match.
He's local to the area and wins just about every weekly. Not shocking they do
I mean Awestin wins a lot there so it makes sense. He's an impressive player
great set
Wow, this was a VERY good game
Watching Ness get bodied brings me life
cant fuckin stand playing ness as a link main. dudes just spam uptilt
can someone get this man a goron tunic cause he's heating up.... BAHAHAHAH GET THIS DUDE A SPECIAL ON NETFLIX
Great plays for both players
Psychedelic bomb of a fight
I am surprised he didn’t spam pk fire
Awestin is a monster, jesus

Glad awestin won.
can you explain to me how those tournaments work? I don't get why, even if Awestin loses the first round, he is still the winner.

Ness has bad match-ups against the links.
Billy Jean YL and Ness communities agree that the MU is even. I’d argue the same for the other 2 links
I swear he does! Ness only bad matchup is link! Literally no other sword fighter. I’m a mess main btw. Well he’s my best character as of right now.
@@williamgaliber9387 Subjectively, when I play Ness, the links are my worst match-ups. You can also see that Austin struggles against projectiles. Just sayin.
Oddly enough as a Link main at about 5 mil gsp Lucas/ness and Pichu/Pikachu are my worst matchups.
Okay
OK
Paging YeetSmash. Disgusting shield break with PK rocket
Haki got too impatient in the last set. Ness guy needs to shower
That’s cute ? Ugh bad commentary lol
Ness is toxic. no matter if it's based on his move set or the player's skills. HE IS TOXIC

never use the "c" word again
Finkle Twat camp
Finkle Twat Ike? I believe he meant to say “zone more “
Link is so annoying
Get good
link should be nerfed
Get good
He's like maybe in the top 20 characters I'm and that might even be too generous, young link is better imo than chungus link
Ehhhh let link shine bro
@@KharnTheBtrayer that's an edgy opinion
Link is carried by nair, bair, boomerang, and bomb for neutral and up b for kills. Everything else is mediocre. He doesn’t need nerfs
