His Holiness Pope Francis arrived in the Philippines at 5:32 pm via Sri Lankan Airlines A340 for his five-day State Visit and Apostolic Journey to the country.
President Benigno S. Aquino III, together with Vice President Jejomar Binay, members of the Cabinet, the country’s archbishops, and selected children warmly welcomed Pope Francis and his delegation.
As part of the welcome ceremony for Pope Francis, the youth prepared a dance number and two children offered him flowers upon coming down the stairs. The pontiff showed his joy and appreciation by hugging the two children.
From Villamor Air Base, Pope Francis boarded an open-type pope mobile on the way to the Nunciature where he will officially stay throughout his visit. A huge number of Filipinos hoping to see the pontiff lined up the streets of Manila and cheered loudly when the papal convoy passed by. Pope Francis stood inside his vehicle throughout the trip and waved enthusiastically until he entered the Nunciature.

Its a mixed emotions but what I assured that moment was I felt a great joy in my heart seeing him personally. GOD never founded the Catholic Church. The Pope is being criticized by most evangelicals because they probably know the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Yes, it was the first physical church established back then but it was just used by Constantine for his self interests. When the pope stepped down the plane, they offered him a basket of "balut" to take back to the Vatican to start a new Italian dish called "Vatican Balut" for all the tourist in Rome to taste as a form blessing from the Pope.
