Great stuff! I'm headed to NC in a month. I think I'll be able to sneak away for one day of fishing. I really hope I catch a couple native brook trout.
Bc does just have so much water. If you’re in the mountains here and you see running water chances are it has wild rainbows or browns. So much of it is just not mapped or is not on public land but you can still fish lots of it.
Drew, when you find a stream that has only small cuts like in this episode, are you suspisious these fish are planted? Here in the state of Washington almost all of our lakes are planted fish. And so are our salmon. Raised in a hatchery and released into a stream or river. It’s a shame it has come to that. I still fish but I’d prefer years ago they made everything catch and release. Then we’d have wild fish now. Thanks for your vids. You do a great job my friend.
I do have some that are bright but was mostly throwing a dry and I tend to stay as natural as I can on shallow streams where I think fish can see the color and spook
So im a eurpean going to do a two week roadtrip thru WY. Are there WY specific resources like this one? Are do you just use google maps (trailheads, like described in the vid 'This stream was amazing-I'll walk thru how I found it! p7') in combination with a blm map to check if its privet of public? Thanks in advance!
Wyoming has a ton of info on their state fisheries page...cutt slam, easements they have purchased, etc. But I mostly use the resources I talk about in the first video I made on finding remote streams...th-cam.com/video/KG8BdtVuZZc/w-d-xo.html
I tried going to this website, but got an error message on multiple formats. Does anyone know if the web page Drew shows here still works or may have moved? I'll be in NC in April and am keen to explore a bit. Thanks in advance!
I assume that most that require a hike are native. Plus they are very colorful and not as drab colored...but this is my first trip so I'm learning as I go.
That is the one good thing about where you are in nc there is a lot of free camping I also sent you a email get back to me when you can I'll show you a few more good wild streams the next time you come here
Another Great Video! Good on you for helping those folks out. I fish the GSMNP, but mostly on the Tenn. side. Tight Lines
Beautiful looking water. You can see why those boys like to 'shine in those hills.
You finally came to my backyard. I’ve been waiting for it. Nothing like trout fishing in the NC mountains!
Been a good time!
thanks Drew. Appreciate you being out there and sharing. Stay safe. I'll look for ya on the water..
Happy to share the adventure!
Very cool. And a nice Louisiana Waterthrush a calling. Thanks for the video!
Much appreciated!
Great job. Really enjoy the way you explain a lot of what you are doing and why. Much appreciated.
Happy to help!
Nice looking stream drew, but I do believe those brookies were stocked. Thanks for sharing.
I believe some were but the bows were definitely wild.
Stocked brookies...........??? Never heard of it, but I'm from the Rockies.
A Good Samaritan as well as an awesome fly fisher 🐟👍🏻
Happy to help!

Definitely a good time searching for them!
Best part of the vid? You talking about helping out that guy. FNA man, good on ya.
We've all needed some help at some point!
Thanks Drew.
My pleasure!
You sir are a great man.
Just doing what I hope others would do for me or my family!

Drew, is there a colored indicator that would show up better on your videos? Thanks for the beautiful places that you take us.

Drew, how can you tell the plants from the natives?

Nice you did that guy a solid, probably a great idea to move on after too just saying!!
Yea, definitely gave me the weird vibe!
nice 👍💗
Thx dude!
I must be naive, but I don't get it. You helped a guy change a tire, then he said he was out there with no food? Pretty strange.
I agree...and why I moved. Gave me a weird vibe too.

Cool, I'll check it out...been off the grid all week and just stopped on the side of the road checking in!
