Yes, unfortunately it is what it is. I was waiting that LCT will do something, but it’s been a years since the release of the SVD, and we are in the same place.
Awesome video. I've got the CYMA SVD and it's a quarter of the price of the LCT. Sure, it's not full steel but there is enough steel on it, and it does take real hanguards as well. Once I added a PDI 6.01mm barrel and Combat Union hop-unit, with Maple Leaf light-blue super macaron bucking, it shot really well despite the slow trigger. As for the gear box, it has exactly the same issues as the LCT. So, if I'm knowingly buying problems, I'd rather buy problems that don't break the bank but that still allow me to do exactly the same thing.
@@RedIvanMilitaryEng you can get replacement inner barrels for the Cyma decently easily, all together I'd say a cyma 057A with all new furniture, internals (new barrel, hop rubber and spring) and an Airsoft PSO probably runs you about 7-800 American rubles, so IMO I'd rather get the Cyma
Man, I really want an SVD, and it's sad to hear that the LCT one is a bit lacking. You'd think that they would make internal compontents available after a few months of release, but nope. It seems the best one is the RS SVD, but they're absurdly rare. CYMA's seem decent, but still require upgrades. I usually love LCT's externals, as my AKs are nice and rough, but the fact that their SVD internals can't be repaired is disappointing. I have a sliver of hope that, if their SVDs last as long as their AKs, I won't have to bust out the gearbox for a while, but still. I might reconsider if I learn more about HPA, as that seems to be a possible solution once the internals wear out.
If I wouldn’t spend that much money already on it, I would definitely go for a real sword now, unfortunately by the time I got LCT, real Sword did not restarted their production yet. I also contacted Combat Union Workshop in Russia to see if they are planning to product LCT compatible hop up unit, that said that that don’t know yet as there are not that big of a market for them yet in Russia.
@@gungulon2347 yep they did, you can actually order from them directly my the email, I just got myself a spare gearbox one month ago. New management is extremely friendly and customer oriented
How is the range and accuracy? I dont airsoft much, so I am not as concerned with part replacement as someone who would take this out every other weekend. However, when I do go airsofting, I expect decent performance out of my guns. So, is this genuinely a good DMR? Or is is basically a longer, heavier semiautomatic AK (if we're oversimplifying) on the field? If so, then perhaps it is not worth getting since it seems very much impossible to fully upgrade.
The Telnyashka is a traditional piece of Russian Navy clothing. The man primarily responsible for the development of the VDV, Vasily Margelov, became used to wearing a Telnyashka while commanding a unit of sailors-turned-ski troops. Later, that piece of clothing with light blue stripes became a standard, and recognizable, piece of VDV clothing.

The Romanian pSL may fire the same cartridge, but it is NOT an SVD clone, it’s like a lengthened AK in 7.62x54r. It’s not bad, but it’s easier to get repeatable accurate fire from an SVD
NDM-86 is based on the early SVD, I personally did not found any difference between LCT SVD and 60es production Soviet SVD, except the sling loop, which was of the 90es production SVDs
