If you use tire talc - slather it all over the inner tube first, you'll find that the inner tube will slip around super-easily inside the tire as you work. So you can pull the valve stem to its hole and just the action of tilting it upright causes the inner tube to slither around into the proper position without ever risking having a constant side-load on the valve stem, or having it tilted to one side or having any wrinkles in the inner tube. We are mandated to do this on aircraft tires for these same reasons - and boy does it make this job easier!
Looks like my Austin Healey wire wheel that I just bead blasted, all five of them, sanded three hundred spokes and rims, three coats of epoxy primer/sealer, three coats of base coat, two coats of clear, and you just scraped all that off by using the machine to put the tire on! No help here, looking for a way to mount the tires w/o damaging new paint, but a good video.
