It's playmobil, so ofcourse very toy-ish, but damn for 40 euros this is a steal, 3 figures, accessories, working lights & flux capacitor. Nostalgic stuff!
I imagine that the folding wheels and lack of Mr Fusion is a cost saving measure for an inevitable BTTF 2 rerelease of this playset later down the line, using the same mould. Obviously there will be minor decal changes and an actual Mr Fusion, in order to encourage collectors to pick up another near identical toy.
Hopefully you're right. Maybe even a 3 in 1, with swappable 1955 wheels, train wheels, and time circuits on hood. Really just hoping that whoever they got to design the Playmobil Ecto-1a set, will design a BttF2 DeLorean set as well. Their 1a blew me away for the attention to detail they had on it.
Or the Mr Fusion is included with a 2015 Doc and Marty pack.
I saw this comment and I was thinking the same thing. But then later on today I thought about it and the fact that the whole set is displayable, there are no odd parts that you couldn't display, it's kind of neet how you can put it all on a shelf and all the parts make sense. Whereas the Mr Fusion, if you swapped it out you'd have it sitting in a box somewhere and possibly could get lost. The same could be said about the lightning rod too, but it was an essential scene in the film. I guess they had to make the delorean have the fold in wheels feature because it's in the end of the film but the Mr Fusion isn't 100% essential as it's not as big a feature. The only thing I thought that would have totally resolved this is if the part where you put the plutonium in was removable and double sided, with a Mr Fusion on the underside that would screw or click into place somehow. Anyway it looks like a fantastic model, I want one of these for sure and wish it was out when I was a kid, the only BTTF toy I remember having was a Micro-Machine type Delorean with that Texaco Station from FTTF2
I think that when they release the 2015 doc and Marty figures, it will come with a mr fusion that u can put in where the plutonium originally goes, I think the same will B 4 the 1885 figures that might come with those circuits that go in the front in BTTF 3 and MAYBE the tires (if u can switch out the tires)
It is right to not have mr fushion , at the end of the first film only the flying mode is introduced , not until the second movie do they elaborate the ending with Mr fushion introduction ,

I bought a diamond select one for a lot more money a few months back and if i had known this was going to be released i would have just waited to buy this one. the diamond select one is great, but i wanted one more like the playmobil one

Great review. I ordered this and it arrived today. I love it so much. I'm disappointed the mask that was originally made for Doc wasn't included though. I looked on the floor thinking I had dropped it!
I think the reason why there's no Mr. Fusion is because it will most likely be released with the 2015 figure set. Unlike the Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A, there's not much difference between BTTF 1 and 2 Deloreans, except for the ones you mentioned so when they release the 2015 Doc and Marty set I'm sure it will be included there.
As a kid I use to use kenner's M.A.S.K car since it was like a delorian. I had several minifigs from other sets i traded toys for so I could have my own Back to the future toys.

They'll milk a 2nd release with Mr. Fusion, 2015 dates, Marty with Hover Board and a silver shades & clear tie Doc Brown. And I'll buy it!!!
I think Mr. Fusion and the Hoverboard already come with another set of Doc & Marty figures.

I think they are going to do two more figure packs. One for 2015 with the Mr Fusion for the back and one for 1855 with the hood box for the front.
My youngest has all the Ghostbusters sets and is eager to get his hands on this.

Professional Model Builders will find a way to Make this toy look more Realistic. You could always take the Mr Fusion off of the 1/16th Scale Delorean , The one that has the Lights and Sound Effects and it should be in scale with the Playmobil DMC. Also. The Lighting Rod. , Camcorder , Plutonium case and Einstein would go good with the Hot Toys 1/6th Scale Delorean. I have that one as well and plan on Buying the Playmobil DMC to use those Accessories with Mine. This was an Excellent Video and Review. Thank you.
Such a shame there was no Bttf toys to play with when I was a kid. I would of absolutely loved this!
I know the feeling. Best I had was a blocky multicoloured Lego Delorean... which I would recreate the ending of BTTF3 with. A lot.
Amazing, the best I had was a Lego rescue boat which I “converted” into a flying time machine which was inspired by the end BTTF 3 train. I loved that boat.

Thank you for this! Unfortunately the "Mr. Fusion" and the orange barcode plate are missing. Not that they are relevant for a playable DeLorean for the first movie. But as these wheels can be flipped, why are they are missing these details for a functional upgrade to the "BTTF II" improvements?

I got the Ghostbusters sets at toys r us as they sunk down into retail oblivion....i didnt pay much for them. Still...feels like they were a better value than this offering.

Great review. I think one we bought doesn’t have the moulding imperfections yours does. My son keeps moaning that it should have a Mr Fusion as the wheels swivel to hover mode! However, as a “toy” it’s just right as there is a lot of play ability. Looks fab next to the Playmobil Ecto 1. How do you rate the sunstar large scale rail version as I’ve always wanted one?
Your son has a fair point. I think as a nitpicky adult nerd things like this stick out to me more but as a kid I would have deemed this one of my all time favourite childhood toys. I did convert a Hotwheels 1/50 delorean (wrong version, but it was cheap) to run on our narrow gauge ON30 layout a couple of years ago. th-cam.com/video/Q4zvD2P-FPI/w-d-xo.html. When I have time I want to convert the proper 1/43 sun star railroad version to run on O gauge track. Last year I did the same for an HO 1/87 delorean to run with on oo/ho track , must put a video up of that at some point. Just seen your video on the chameleon pocket watch and I know what I want this Christmas!

They got the wrong dates? Wrong license plate? And head lights don’t work? 🤦🏻♂️
I'll hold my hands up, the dates and plate are technically inaccurate as those dates were entered after the outatime plate fell off during the first time travel test. I'm super nit picky. But yeah, I'm really disappointed by the minimal lights and lack of sound effects.
