But its good to safe the animals the only problem is that in villages most people rely on farming and every now and then the crops has been destroyed by the animals leading to the shortage of food especially in backward or rural areas so will there be forest department to protect the crops in such areas. No offense but in Nagaland most of the population rely on farming so kindly try to come up solution along with the act. don't just kindly see on one side everything has a positive and negative impacts.

There is no reason to ban hunting except in the govt reserved forest or govt supported reserved forest. Hunting can be moderated and restricted all over the state. Overall it is doing perfectly well in districts of kohima, phek, peren, tseminyu etc. Nagaland clearly needs a more positive and motivated legislator other than CL John to look after this particular dept.
Wrongly the state government has introduced Forest Act blatantly in the land of customary rights..which is totally unconstitutional and contradictory. Similarly, in many issues without the consent of the people so many Acts have been passed contradicting the customary laws .. creating confusion in law So, if State government have owned reserve land forest, apply the restriction as per the Forest Act strictly.. not in my forest/ ur forest & his forest is mine and theirs land. Department responsibilities in traditional forest land is to propagate strong awareness to the owners of their forest land.
