My friend Dave lives in Akron Ohio and he also has an upper level door that opens to a sheer two story drop. He doesn't have a staircase to nowhere, but he does have a hallway that gets gradually smaller from one end to the other, over 7 feet high at one end down to around 5.5 feet at the other.
I went on a tour of the Winchester house. It is a beautiful house, but it to me, it felt like a monument for a rich, lonely woman. The constant building felt like a coping mechanism for her dealing with so much death in her family.

Edit : Super glad to see that they walked it back in a way that showed they actually heard the things that fans were saying. The Ghoul Boys made a mistake, but I'm proud as a fan to see they were willing to admit to it.

When ryan had a shiver down his spine, father thought they were mocking him. Ryan was grinning the whole time, wouldnt you feel uncomfortable? he suspected, that they were doing a bit and mocking him and the cameras werent even rolling. I think thats the reason why he asked, even later, when the video went online, he contacted them and said how displeased he was with the fact that they ignored his every single advice. He was just serious and they were not.
I think maybe to make sure also the future viewers would be able to hear what he had to say? To be able to warn as many as possible?
He was probably gonna cuss them out and call them idiot sandwich or ask why Shane looks so uncomfortable 😂😂

Coming back to this episode after Ghost Files really brings home on how much they’ve improved
yeah I just decided to pop in and re-watch this after the "Sally" mention in the latest Watcher episode. It's really wild to see how they've grown.
Honestly I love this episode a lot. Shane's "demon...? demon?" will never get old.
They’ve changed a lot. I enjoy the old stuff where Ryan is genuinely freaked out

@@aangmaster9392 As to be expected their dynamic has evolved and matured over time. Ryan isn’t really freaked out anymore since they’ve been to a ton of these places without anything genuinely spooky or harmful happening. Despite their investigations being more thorough they are kind of phoning it in at this point. Should you still watch? Yes. Is it as genuine? No. Hope that helps

Also, babies cause sleep deprivation, which screws with you in more ways than most stop to think! In college I dealt with loads of anxiety, confusion in stressful situations, and crappy memory that were all caused by lack of sleep. Forgetting being scratched by the dog and attributing normal dog things with spooky causes would be easily explained by that

Years after numerous times of rewatching this video, I still think that the reason Father Thomas asked whether they were still on camera was to roast them harshly instead of giving advice, so that the boys would eventually drop the idea of visiting those allegedly haunted places.

I was looking through the comments and I’m really surprised to see no one brought up electrical failure in the sally house. Like bad wiring could easily cause lights to flicker on and off and even start fires. Also, as far as the psychological stuff goes, there’s a pretty good chance that the people living there could have been exposed to lead because of how old the house is, which would lead to the erratic behavior, then seeing things, etc.
Follow-up: Tony saying he heard scratching in the wall makes the bad wiring make even more sense. Rodents have been known to damage wires by chewing on them. The only thing that gives me pause about it is that she DID stop building every once in awhile...though if she suffered from *multiple* obsessions, her compulsions could conceivably have bounced between them accordingly; or she might have tried to force herself to stop building, but then relapsed.

You know, that thing the priest said in the beginning had a point that I think resonates with all of the supernatural episodes with Shane and Ryan. He said, “do not be afraid”. Ryan is always scared shitless, which is quite attractive to evil presences whereas Shane is intimidating, upfront, and frankly treats everything like a joke, so they’re rarely ever interested in his reactions because they aren’t satisfying. Cool connection!
Or, more likely, there are no evil spirits and Ryan works himself up into a fear state while Shane remains unaffected because he doesn't delude himself into a fear state.

I really liked the bit with the priest. He was very sincere and down to earth. I respected his point of view because he was not forceful. He was simply and honestly telling his beliefs in a humble and straightforward way to impart the knowledge he had. I wish all people of faith had that man's composure and dignity. It was really nice to see these supernatural theories discussed in a logical and straightforward way without judgement.
Agreed. I also appreciate that he stated clearly, "I'm not trying to evangelize you," when he noticed Ryan getting nervous. A holy man who was just giving his information when asked and who _wasn't_ trying to shove his religion down other people's throats to convert them. Like, he's aware that people are different, believe different things, and he's respectful about it. It felt really kind.
