The way Shannon can talk NFL & NBA flawlessly is unique. He wasn’t a journalist but he’s clearly invested & does his HW. Usually athletes can only confidently talk about their sport but Shannon has crazy range.

I don't think there's even an argument of who should come off the bench in terms of fit, it's Chris Paul. If we're going to talk about Klay's defense then CP's defense is definitely in question to say the least. CP fits perfectly off the bench for this team.

At the end of the day CP3 comes off the bench and leads the 2nd unit which has been the #1 problem for the Warriors for years (non Steph minutes). Their starting 5 had the best +/- for the past 2 years. Coming off the bench and playing 15 to 20 minutes a night will enable CP3 to have his legs come playoff time and hopefully remain healthy. Lookout if Kuminga and Moody take a 3rd year jump (CP3 will greatly help them develop this year). Wiggins will be back for a full season. Klay will start the season in shape and GPII is fully healthy. The W's are now 10 deep.

I think Warriors took whatever they could get for Poole right away instead of waiting. So they got CP3. I personally think Warriors don't plan on keeping CP3 long term. I think they trade him by the trade deadline to get something better in return. Which brings me to Giannis. If Giannis isn't happy this season or bucks don't do well, then I think the Warriors and Giannis would be a perfect pairing. But Warriors could offer a nice trade package in exchange for Giannis. And have Giannis and Steph join forces.
I think they did Poole a favor tbh i think they promised to move him to his own team when that punch happened so he wouldn’t request a trade. They could of gotten a better/more useful player than CP3

Cp3 averaged 32min per game last year. Jordan Poole averaged 30 last season and the season prior. Im pretty sure the warriors will be able to manage the rotations the same way they did last year if cp3 is willing to come off the bench.
Except fewer minutes for CP3. They want him fresh and healthy for the playoffs. 15 - 20 minutes a night would be ideal.
This is a business. Just because the Bucks are doing their best to get him talent, doesnt mean he owes them staying with the Bucks if they arent winning. If a player is struggling in a team and there is an opportunity for that team to trade that player to win, they will do it without hesitation. People need to get out their feelings.
Yeah you right it is a business but you said if the team isn’t winning and the bucks has had the best record over the past 3 seasons just about it was Gianni’s himself that missed 2 and a half games in the playoff last year due to injury otherwise I think they go further. Remember Mark Jackson's last year at Golden State. The became part team began improving. Jarett Jack lead a good second unit that year.I occasionally download games from that season to see how the team changed from good to great. I'd like to think of CP3 as Playing in JJ's role.

IMO, the best way to fit CP3 into this Warriors rotation is to bring him off the bench. That'd help them change the pace with a proven leader in the non-steph minutes, while they can keep the starting 5 from last year together (statistically the best performing starting 5 last season)

When a team is too slow, too old, and too small, its hard to see how they get better by becoming older, slower, and smaller. Obviously, CP3 brings more to the table but that has to outweigh the youth, height, and speed that was lost.

The Bucks don't really make any significant moves in the offseason while the other teams in the Eastern Conference try to get better. Thanasis holding up a roster spot is also not helping, he has more clips of him cheering than actual basketball.
Thanasis in on minimum contract, financially it doesn't make any real difference whether he stays or goes.

Giannis is obviously a top 1-3 player in the NBA , but he def still has a huge hole in his game (outside shooting). No matter what team he goes to, he will need an elite outside scorer that can take over a game when needed as well. The bucks dont have that currently and good defensive teams can lock down the paint and force giannis' teammates to make the big shots. If dude just got a consistent midrange/3pt shot, their team would be consistently making the finals as currently constructed.
1000% correct on your analysis. Huge hole in his game that mid range shooting and just shooting period. I have been saying this for a while now. Middle range shooting is a basic and essential part of basketball there's no escaping that reality. Without that mid range jump shot he will always be marginalized !!!

Seeing how well Klay led the team when Steph was out last year, imagine if Klay could come off the bench. Not only would he provide a huge scoring boost, he would also show facets to his game that we haven't seen before. Maybe Klay and CP could both come off the bench and Maybe even Kuminga could start.

Draymond has great chemistry with Steph though, I dont think Draymond role would be diminished by CP3.
@@tigera6 his chemistry with Steph is not in question. It's more about how much he'll have the ball in his hands with CP3 out there. Offensively, he needs the ball to be impactful because he's a huge part of orchestrating their offense. That said, he CP3 can space the floor, it may give him some easier layups. We'll see.

It’s obvious how Cp3 fits the starting lineup.. Cp3 at the point , Curry at the two, Klay at 3 , Dray at 4 , Loon at 5… Curry is a hybrid guard and can play off the ball anyway.. Cp3 is a facilitator… I think ppl just don’t want it to work bc they fear the potential of the success of this system! Plus with all the new additions there are a number of different lineups they could run throughout the game
But this lineup would get wrecked by Denver or LA due to size alone.

Eh maybe, if you go Death Lineup as example for the first 5 mins of the game. then swap to a more traditional lineup and stagger Curry Klay and CP3. Klay will be much better on D this year than he was last year also. He will never be Prime Klay on D or on O again but he will be much better and more consistent this year.
I also think if someone goes to the bench they will go Looney to bench and just do a pure death lineup to start the game and try to jump out to an early lead. Which lines up perfectly for how they used to come out and run teams off the court in the 3rd quarter. If they go death lineup to start 1st and 3rd for 5-7 mins then run through the subs they could jump out to some big big leads.

Trading an injured IT for Kyrie is a no brainer though. Kyrie is the better player. The Celtics would've been a meme right now, a laughingstock if they had paid IT & kept him. Kyrie with the Celtics didn't workout either, but at the same time IT has been a bench player or out the league since then.

As for Alex they signed him because he has potential but is hardly at the standard of NBA players. Giannis himself said he only wants to stay if the team keeps pushing for a ring. Well both his brothers are useless in that aspect, so yes they are there because of Giannis.
